The State of Kentucky had a very bad flood this summer. Over 100 homes lost in the high waters. 50 or so deaths. As soon as the water went down. Chris Stapleton was knee deep in mud helping people he did not even know. He just drove to the mountains and help the first person he saw. That is a great thing that few so called stars would do. Very cool Mr Stapleton.

Country can be a very wide genre. "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore" I consider his most stereotypical country style song and "Death Row" has the most traditional blues sound to my ear. Either way Chris still has a bit of that twang most associate with country in all of his songs.

Can we take a moment to appreciate not only his fucking amazing hat, but also the fact he is hitting those notes, without stretching his mouth, as a vocalist who has decent reach, I have to make space in my literal face to bring that kind of sound, I dunno if it's the big beard covering it, but he seems to just let this noise out from within, and only his clinched shut eyes show the effort he is putting in, love this track, well done for finding it, next thing you need to do, (as a reaction or just in your own time) is amigo the devil, cocaine and Abel, if you wanna talk about brutally honest story telling, amazing guitar, and just pure talent that needs some recognition within our generation, this is one of the places you need to be

Hi from your new subscriber in Charlotte, NC, USA! I saw you were reacting to Chris Stapleton & "Cold" and I had to check your channel/reaction out! Starting Over is his latest album & it's amazing! I've watched tons of Stapleton reactions & yours was the closest to my own in the way you looked, the comments you made & the whole ball of wax! Chris Stapleton IS NOT just a country artist. If he was, those violins would've been "fiddles", etc. (FYI: I've never been nor will I ever be a country music "fan". I can appreciate certain songs/performers but I grew up in the hills of Virginia & all my parents listened to was country. It drove me bonkers!)
🎸💯 Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice (along w/his badass guitar skills), the piano, the arrangements & transitions, and THOSE INCREDIBLE STRINGS (which add EVERYTHING to "Cold") blend together to make this an unbelievably special piece‼🤯🔥
I love most of his work; but, "Cold" is in a class of its own. Just like Chris Stapleton is his own genre. He's definitely a legend in our time! If you haven't already done so, check out these other great Stapleton joints: "Barely Alive", "Fool Me Again", "I Was Wrong", "It's a Man's World", "Sometimes I Cry" & "What Are You Listening To". Chris Stapleton's live performances are every bit as good & in many cases BETTER than his studio stuff! I recommend you take a giant leap into the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole & just enjoy the whole experience. I really like his work from when he was the front man with the Southern Rock group The Jompson Brothers ("Inside Your Head")! Take care. Stay safe. 🤘

So you have the people of the Grand Ol' Opry like Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Sr, Loretta Lynn, etc.to the Outlaw country music by Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, etc. to the blue grass songs like Rocky Top by the Osborne Bros, Bluegrass Boys, etc., Bluesy side of country music like Chris Stapleton, Ray LaMontagne, etc., Ballads like with Marty Robbins, Sawyer Fredericks, etc. Country is not just one kind.

Country, like rock, draws heavily on the blues but it isn’t usually this bluesy. Stapleton grew up listening to his dad’s record collection and there must’ve been a lot of old country, classic rock, and blues in there. He’s mashed them all together and made something completely irresistible. I mostly come to reaction channels to see people react to him. I stay when find I really like the reactor.
I’d be here for any and all Stapleton reactions you might care to do. You seem very genuine and this felt almost like hearing the song again for the first time. Knowing you’re a blues fan, bruh… you HAVE to explore this dude’s catalog. Guarantee you’ll be glad you did.

Lol, I have been fortunate enough to know about Chris Stapleton longer than he's been popular to the masses. He tells such a story in 3 minutes, it is unbelievable. From the first time you hear it you never forget it. He is probably, if not the best but one of the best artists of this generation period. His voice, his writing, and his melodies are fantastic.

Dawg, you NEED to check out Sturgill Simpson. He's such a brilliant country artist. You need of hear his albums "Metamodern Sounds on Country Music" and especially "A Sailor's Guide to Earth".

Yes! We need some country reacts from Jon. Sturgill, Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell etc. I think he’ll love it, plus other videos of people reacting to these guys do crazy numbers.

On any night where he's comfortable & *feeling it* ,he's #Transcendent
I'd say at his core he's more like a caucasian, younger, more technically capable singer, version of BB King than country tbh!
He's also been killing the songwriting thing for a couple of decades now.... I mean, Adele doesn't put a cover of one of your songs on her album on a whim!... & there are plenty well-known folk out there with Stapleton to thank for their biggest songs.
Since we lost the mighty Chris Cornell 5yrs ago, Stapleton's been my favourite living male vocalist. Interesting that they're both great songwriter-composers on top of the stellar singing.... maybe singing your own compositions brings out the very best vocals? Altho having said that, they've both done some excellent covers.

I feel the same as you. The reason you feel it so deeply is that you have soul.
