I was an inmate at ORW twice - once in 2004-2005 and again in 2009-2010. I have been clean and sober for over 11.5 years now, and though I was not ever in Tapestry, I knew plenty of wonderful women who were. The program is unbelievable and as I watched this documentary, I was crying, full of emotions for these women, some of whom look familiar to me! I am proud of all of you, and please know, at least from one inmate to another: society can be judgmental, as far as being a convicted felon and/or addict who may or may not have dual diagnosed mental health issues, but if you are willing to try, every day, to be better, do better, and live better than you did before, and your words and actions are consistent, humble and grateful, in no time, nobody cares/even knows about your "prison number" or criminal record. In fact, if it ever comes up in conversation, years and years later, people who have met you since then laugh in disbelief that you, of all people, would ever do anything bad enough to land yourself in prison! not once, but twice!
If I can do it, Y'all can too!!! Proud of you!

A lot of the women there shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Mass incarceration is out of control in America especially Ohio. Moving out of Ohio is the best decision I’ve ever made
