Im a foreigner but when i order on didi in alipay, the driver asked for the code that was sent to my phone number. I dont have a chinese phone number so of course i dont have the code. They drive me to the destination anyways but they always ask for the code =(( Can i ask if the code is important and do we really need to give the driver the code?
I don't know if users need to provide code to driver. Me, Chinese users only need to provide the last 4 numbers of your phone number (this is just for checking the driver pick up the right person).
Did you register Didi with phone number? If you didn't link phone number, it probably be normal to ask you the code.

Hi, unfortunately, foreigners may not allowed to register Douyin account right now. Unless you use a Chinese mobile phone number to register it.

No need, just use your country's phone number. If you use local phone number then everything needs local request, like local bank, local resident id.

Yes, in general, they'll call you. But you can also just message the driver to let them know you're foreigner. You just need to stay where eye-catching and easy to find(the pickup location when you ordered service), like bus stop.
