I had a female Instrument I.P. UH-1H at Ft.Rucker AL. back in the early 80's, at first I had reservations about it. But she was a vary good instructor that had a heart of a teacher. Learned a lot from her. Also my daughter is a wild land firefighter for the USFS, has done everything except a smoke jumper.

I used to fly the F-16s. I then transitioned to the F-35. The Falcon was awesome to fly. It is very easy to fly and comfortable. I’m grateful to have been able to fly both

My 13 year old daughter wants to be a USAF pilot. We were at the Homestead Air force base air show last month and she spoke with a couple of pilots about this career. She just joined the USAF Civil Air Patrol this week. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
I was a general aviation pilot for 22 years and had over 1300 hours. That was plenty challenging! Congrats to Major Moore on the flying she does. Unbelievable!

Not to mention the spatial and cognitive differences and the greatly increased number of crashes since women took the stick. Great story Major. I went to college at Homestaed AFB. I watched night sorties with F-4's. What a light show. I was there during Hurricane Andrew's smash of HAFB.
Her father flew the F106 which was a difficult aircraft to operate, he obviously wasn't killed in a 106 which means he was an exceptional pilot, no matter what their gender people who grow up in and around aviation tend to be pretty good aviators she probably takes after her father.

Getting a slot in a Reserve Squadron is reserved for only the most exceptional pilots, with also a very small group of exceptional young officers going to USAF pilot training and onwards to their Reserve squadron. Most Reserve pilots voluntarily leave the active service to fly with the AirLines, go into Business and to be able to spend more time with their families .
to get pick and graduate from the Air Force Academy is a great accomplishment by it self and they get pick to go the fighter pilot route that tell it all

Many are "full time" reserve pilots. Full timers hold reserve squadrons together. The part timers can barely stay certified. i have two granddaughters 5&7. i fly and they love watching pawpaw fly. they love sitting in both my planes. one is an experimental they watched me build the other is an ultralight. they have both sat in my seat with me during run ups and both were very excited. the older one wants me to build her a pink plane so she can fly with me. i have showed both of them this video. the older one loves it. she wants to be a fighter pilot too. but i will support what ever paths they both take. if its aviation even better. but they are both very young and have yet to discover boys, lol. thank you for your service young lady and for the inspiration you provide not only to young women but to ALL OF US AS AMERICANS. Getting a slot in a Reserve Squadron is reserved for only the most exceptional pilots, with also a very small group of exceptional young officers going to USAF pilot training and onwards to their Reserve squadron. Most Reserve pilots voluntarily leave the active service to fly with the AirLines, go into Business and to be able to spend more time with their families .
to get pick and graduate from the Air Force Academy is a great accomplishment by it self and they get pick to go the fighter pilot route that tell it all
@@@webcamfann- Where are you getting that information from? I spent 26 years on Fighters and was also a Reservist for four years. "Most Exceptional" ? Sorry not my experience. Many are "full time" reserve pilots. Full timers hold reserve squadrons together. The part timers can barely stay certified. There are good and not so good pilots in both active and reserve squadrons.

i have two granddaughters 5&7. i fly and they love watching pawpaw fly. they love sitting in both my planes. one is an experimental they watched me build the other is an ultralight. they have both sat in my seat with me during run ups and both were very excited. the older one wants me to build her a pink plane so she can fly with me. i have showed both of them this video. the older one loves it. she wants to be a fighter pilot too. but i will support what ever paths they both take. if its aviation even better. but they are both very young and have yet to discover boys, lol. thank you for your service young lady and for the inspiration you provide not only to young women but to ALL OF US AS AMERICANS.
