My friends and i actually just tried out insanity. Three of us died, 1 lived, we didnt find a single piece of evidence, and we got the ghost wrong 😂😂 fun game!! After that we switched back to nightmare mode.
after watching your perfect nightmare video, i tried to do it myself and GODDAMN the photo system is fucking stupid. it feels kind of braindead that you can only take one picture of the ghost but its perfectly fine to spam pictures of 9 salt piles stacked on top of each other
Just a tip if you are going for perfect runs on any difficulty. If you have the objective "Take a photo of the ghost" and you're worried about it because ghost photos can easily mess up a perfect run. Just get you 10 3-star photos without the ghost, then during a hunt spam pictures at the ghost, you'll still get the objective, but you won't ruin your photo book.
Isn't a ghost photo required for a perfect run? Im probs wrong though

-Correct ghost type

Kinda weird how they haven't updated the photo system so far. I don't think it would be that hard to replace photos with a lower score when you take one with a higher score
If I would say it rudely it'll be more like a "skill issue"
Otherwise, the devs probably want us to be more cautious of how or what are we taking those pictures. For example, try to communicate more so that repetitive pictures of the same interaction wouldn't happen.
It's a perfect game because it's perfect and it should be perfect, if you aren't playing perfectly why would you get perfect games
Maybe the option to delete 1 or maybe 2 photo's. Sounds good enough
That takes literally all the skill out of it. Whats the point in even having thr system if no matter how many times you mess up, it doesn't matter

I would love to see them add a visual or audio cue when taking a correct photo. I find it kind of annoying to open the book every time to see if it worked.
For my Nightmare banshee tests, if I know the ghost room I place all the motion sensors in a line down a hallway and see if it constantly uses its ability to roam to me and interact. You can just track it with the beeps/flashes of the motion sensors when it roams to you then back to its room. If it does it a few times pretty consistently, I typically can identify banshee that way.
Me and my friend are often playing on Nightmare mode. We would play on Insanity mode if there was a cursed possession on a map, because sometimes you have no control over the hunt and totally rely on the ghost to start it eventually
I like to play custom with my friend, 0 evidence, 100% sanity, 200% sanity drain, pills don't restore any sanity, 1s grace period w/ long hunts, kills don't extend hunts (doesn't change the reward multiplier, so why even enable it), 1 cursed possession (random), breaker off by default (not broken), and everything else is like nightmare/insanity. Sometimes the ghost will give itself straight away, sometimes we get Mares and Yureis and it takes a while to narrow down what it is. But it doesn't take much longer than Insanity games, since most of the time on Insanity you'll have to do a bunch of tests anyways, and it rewards much more (8.35x vs 6.00x of Insanity)

58:38 - This crucifix madness seems to be an issue in other places too. Someone on Reddit just recently posted an undisputable clip of a ghost hunting right next to a crucifix in the Edgefield upstairs hallway. (It wasn't a cursed hunt caused by another player, because the grace period in the clip is three seconds long. And it probably wasn't a Monkey Paw trap wish because most of the nearby doors were open.)
Don’t worry their working on making sure we can’t crouch and run instead.
I really think that the hidden abilities of ghosts should be in the journel and not just flavour text. I dont want to go to a wiki just to understand the game.
I have a video idea: Filling up the book with only ghost photos. It would be tedious, but if you did a video about a bunch of challenges and stuck this in, it might be a fun addition.

I didn't know insanity is very unpopular, it's basically my favorite for getting money with nightmare being my alltime favorite for cursed possession shinanigans.
insanity and no evidence are my favorites. its just so much fun to actually think about stuff instead of just relying on evidence found

Yeah, I also use slightly altered insanity for leveling, but I barely ever get evidence (granted, i only have a couple of T3 yet). I have to switch to professional once in a while just to reassure myself that i'm not crazy and evidence exists
Insym! Just to let you know, you can take photos of the tier 3 firelight! I've recently unlocked it myself, and you are indeed able to use it for capturing photos, and it is, in my opinion, superior for this as it won't naturally run out otherwise! The only thing that cannot happen with it is that it cannot naturally burn out, but the ghost is very easily able to blow it out and you can capture photos for it!
Tier 3 Lantern is fixed btw. Just tested it today, you can take the photo of the interaction when the goes blows it out.
how wild would it be to have a challenge where there are TWO different ghosts in a house and you have to guess both?

It would be cool if there were two different ghosts, but you didn't KNOW there were two different ghosts, and had to figure that out yourself by asking the spirit box how many spirits there were or maybe the Ouija Board or the ghost book or something, and so you see one ghost model then you see another and get tricked into thinking Obake, but naw, it's worse, so much worse... a Deo AND a Rev. Oh god...

Ghost photo objectives still work even if your book is full.
Daily and weekly photo challenges also work with a full book.
I swear they said they fixed the ghost photo objective counting with a full book, but it's actually still broken.

I just did my first insanity perfect inspection that ended with a banshee parabolic scream! It was the first Banshee scream I've heard irl. I love the insanity difficulty for moments like this!
Love your videos Insym, you're one of the very few youtubers where I can watch an hour+ video without getting bored as you always manage to keep the viewer engaged. However, some honest feedback and feel free to disagree - your mod team does a great job moderating the chat and keeping dumb comments to a minimum, but there are times where it feels like they go too far and sometimes make chatting on your livestreams feel uncomfortable.
I've for example sent a chat recently literally quoting something you've said in the past, only to have the chat removed and followed up by a !chat command. I totally understand you get tones of ridiculous chats (I've seen plenty myself), and it's not always easy to filter out legitimate questions/comments from the dumb ones, but yeah sometimes it can feel too strict and it has stopped me from fully engaging during your livestreams.
I may be the only one feeling this way, which in that case I must be talking shit ^^ but either way, keep up the great work and I hope to see you continue growing, especially with the console release around the corner.

This is why instead of playing Insanity I'd rather play custom with 0 evidence. Because I know that if I play insanity most of the time I'll struggle to find the only evidence there is, so I'd just rather do all the normal tests to figure out the ghost with no evidence instead, and the custom difficulty rewards more money than insanity (3,000 without perfect investigation, 3,500 with perfect investigation).
Hidding proofs is a deterrent for most people. Without youtube is really hard to find out ghosts even have hidden abilities, description are not really that useful.
hearing that most people dont play on insanity was weird, me and my 2 friends that i always play with are *always* on either nightmare or insanity even for casual playing

I really didn’t know that most people play on amateur / intermediate. I always play on insanity solo, sometimes with another friend (2 is fine too) but with 3 or 4 it gets tricky because you can’t really keep track on what everyone is doing or how they manage their sanity etc. But could be fun if they add all the stuff 😂
Btw if I struggle to get any evidence I normally assume freezing temps, especially when the ghost roams a lot. Cool video! ❤
hey insym just to let you know, you can take the interaction AND the actual thing on tier 3 items, ive noticed on a tier 2 crucifix you can only take the burned crucifix photo and not the interaction. but the tier 3 lets you take interaction and burned crucifix. same for writing book as well. and you can take photos of the candle being blown out on tier 2. BUT the computer keyboard never seems to work for me so dont even try taking those photos xd

Hunts 1-5: clearly further than 4 meters
Hunts 6-9: missed due to hunting on the stairs (different floor)
Hunts 10-11: very close, but bad crucifix placement makes these reasonable misses
Hunt 12: Likely didn't actually trigger because Insym was already dead.
Idk when this was recorded but I’ve been using tier 3 candle for photos, I think they fixed it. I tested it after hearing it didn’t work and was pleasantly surprised lol.
That ending gave me a stomach ache from laughing so hard.
Would be cool to have a ghost that is immune to crucifix, but generally slower to keep it balanced, not like revenant that hasnt found you yet slow, but like a little slower than twins slow

I can put 2 crucifixes in the basement for Tanglewood and I swear they NEVER stop the hunts and I can stand at the top of the stairs and see them coming up stairs, so I know they came from the basement and didn't roam.

Insanity is a baller game mode, good fun, challenging, 100% recommend if you know ghost abilities/speeds
StarField is great! Their is minor things but super expected with this massive of a game and we know that Bethesda always updates. the only need worked on areas are knife combat (Bethesda ain’t known for that though), the AI don’t really fight back if u are on one of the easier settings, and space fighting. Their is nothing wrong with itself but, maybe a more explained explanation of how you want to go about flying, maneuvering, managing, and shooting ur ship IE how do I do all this and be affective of completing the task.😅 (took me a good few hours to get it)

I play Insanity mode once in a while maybe 1 in every 7 or 8 games, the difference between 1 evidence and 2 evidence is really big and challenging for me personally since I don't play the game religiously, but I agree that insanity mode is very fun

Insanity has gotten too easy for my friend and I, even no evidence, it’s pretty upsetting, I kinda wish I never learned the ghosts and stuff, because phasmo is way more fun when it’s scary
I'm surprised the data says that most people play on such low difficulties! Me and my buddies get really bored really quickly if we're not playing something really hard.
We don't do large maps but we use an 8x multiplier custom game, so its a slightly harder Insanity except it has 1 random cursed item!

The devs see the players having fun aka cabinet glitch, hiding behind doors, crouching and running and they spend all their time nerfing these things instead of fixing clear game breaking bugs like photos and crucifix being broken. Why are they like this. We should prioritize the bugs. Not spending all our time making sure the player plays inside a certain box.
I'm not surprised any gamemode professional or harder is unpopular. I believe most people still play toward getting evidence to figure out the ghost for one, and then there's the ghost room changing. It's not that it gets too difficult, but if you're playing to get evidence to determine the ghost, it will take way too long and there'd still be a chance to get it wrong on professional and above because of the hidden evidence. I remember every game of nightmare being about half an hour for me and my friends, because we'd find the room, get like 1 evidence then the ghost changes rooms, and we'd chase it around the house figuring out what the second evidence is, once we get that we spend another long period of time chasing the ghost around the house to figure out what it could be and what it can't be to narrow it down, and even then, we'd get it wrong once in a while. It gets too boring after a while and it's not very rewarding, so we just play on intermediate so we can focus on getting 3 evidences, focus our attention on 1 room and have quicker games.

I had the evidence down to yokai and mare, but they would NOT show on D.O.T.S. or write in the ghost book! Couldn't get it to use its abilities or hunt at all. Suddenly it burns a cross... so I go check sanity and it's floating at about 62%. I was like MARE! Case closed. Nope - it was a yokai hunting early because I was talking to my partner.
You now can take a photo of tier 3 firelight and sometime you can take interaction photo of tier 3 ghost writing book
Pics are kind of unpredictable. In Willow I can only take keyboard pics if the ghost is a uv ghost. Then I can take both interaction and fingerprint pics. When the ghost is not a uv ghost I should get an interaction photo but it fails. I was pleasantly surprised about being able to take lighter pics. If the ghost blows out the lighter in your hand you can throw it down and take a pic.
I wish i had friends to play this game with. Playing with randoms is SUCH a hit and miss. Ive played solo exclusively for at least a year now.
I mainly play Professional by myself to grind for money. Then when my duo hops on we switch mainly to Nightmare with the occasional Insanity match.

Oh! Crusifix use turning off all lights is a bug? I thought it was part of the new update -- a REALLY annoying part, lol.

I usually play intermediate the multiplier is sustainable enough to constantly play games with all the items

i pretty much exclusively do 0 sanity 0 evidence because insanity is almost always guaranteed win, also insanity is boring without the cursed possessions, probably why its not popular.
we usually play custom, 1 evidence, no sanity, no hiding, but we prefer small maps, way funnier

I had a ghost hunt right on top of a brand new crucifix (-.-). ALSO, i had my headlight kill me. It bugged and it wouldn't let me turn it off mid hunt.

So yesterday me and my buddy were doing the weekly
We ended up with Spirit Orb + Freezing
He got insta killed at the start of 4th hunt and it was down for me to figure out the ghost
I did notice that my Onryo test kinda didnt work too well as it changed the ghost room and we didnt notice but i did notice it being keen on blowing out candle but it started hunts on border of crucifix range.
My dead friend told me that its hunting from the other rooms after 3rd hunt with me alone
During 6 hunts i have done multiple Yokai tests and it never found me (stood in middle of kitchen shouting with flashlight on while it was in stairwell and by dinner table moving towards garage)
So we were sure it was Yokai
However i set up 3 candle Onryo test again as i wanted to really rule out Onryo while i still had intact crucifix and it went HAM on the candles...
It was funny as the second i light up the candle it went out and i burned out new matchstick box in under 10 seconds...
So to my friends surprise it was Onryo like i suspected but it sure was as stupid as Yokai so now i cant trust Yokai tests anymore
(Hilarious thing is that our next and last run we got insta hunted by Thaye and my buddy almost shit himself due to almost dying and him first time seeing Full speed Thaye)

literally impossible to rule out shade off ghost event in insanity mode because u start at 75, yes it is LESS LIKELY to perform event but it can still happen... the real way to rule it out is off late hunt

I started doing this on prof today with my nephew but with 0 evidence so that we can also get better at that.
Fyi, temu isn't too bad. I've had 3 shipments of multiple items and all were good. Not top quality, but definitely better than wish. Shipping was pretty fast too.
The lighting in this game is so scuffed. I really hope they fix how light works.
