    I love that natural micarta! If I wasn't holding out for a KnifeArt full CF Inkosi that's the one I would get.

    Sweet brother! Hey what do you use to sharpen your knives? I generally do free hand stones but can never get it as sharp as my grandfather did

    That’s great to be able to put your hands on a knife before buying. I want to get a CRK. Can’t decide between the Inkosi or 21. No dealers in my neck of the woods. (South Alabama) thanks for the review.

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 6 lety +1

      Mike Tindol it definitely helps to be able to get any knife in hand cause other than that your taking a gamble. If you decide to buy one go through a dealer like Blade hq so you can ask them in the comments to check the knife to make sure it’s smooth and if it’s not you can just return it. Well brother hope your having a great day talk to you later

    Damn that's smooth man, Nice edge too. Now THAT is a pocket knife. I had a Inkosi, it was stiff AF. Watching this video I was like Daaannnnng haha

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 6 lety

      Big Brown Guy thanks brother. Before this crk I’ve had 4 21’s and none of them were smooth so I figured while I was at blade I could hand pick one so I know it’s smooth and believe it or not it has gotten smoother it now drops free. Oh by the way I enjoy your vids the one with the Maxamet shaving that aluminum made me cringe but it was awesome to see no noticeable damage.

    • @FearNoSteel
      @FearNoSteel Před 6 lety

      Stassa23 haha thanks bro, yea it's nice to put rumors of a steel being as brittle as glass to rest.
      That knife is sexy man. I bought my Inkosi in January and I didn't think I could hold out until the insingo came out. I could flick out but the action was brutal. Not fast at all. Very stiff, I had a callous on my thumb from the pointed thumb stud. Watching this video I was like "Holy Sh*t this guy knows how to open a Chris Reeve like a boss!"
      Hahaha then I heard you talk about how you laboured on picking out a smooth one. Damn, you got a nice one. I wish CRK did that with all there knives man. Edges too. That edge looks crisp AF.
      Man I need another CRK bro hahaha.
      Such solid knives.

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 6 lety

      Big Brown Guy my local shop will be starting to carry crk’s in the next month so I’ll be able to hand pick them from now on if I buy more. Let me know if you decide you want to buy one I could go hand pick you a smooth one and all you would have to do is call and pay for it they will ship it to you. Man my Manix had to have a bad heat treat cause I tried several different methods of sharpening it and kept getting micro chips after cutting cardboard and I sharpened my buddies Maxamet native and that thing hasn’t had any issues and it’s cut a ton of cardboard so I decided to send it back to see if they could tell me what’s going on with it and hopefully I’ll get it back in the next month or so. Well brother hope your having a great day talk to you later

    • @FearNoSteel
      @FearNoSteel Před 6 lety

      Stassa23 Thanks Brother, I appreciate that shit. Knife Bros 4 lyfe now.
      That sucks bout your knife, it will be cool to see a follow up on that
      I think that Maxamet is stubborn AF on the burr removal, it doesn't want to let go. It just wants to straighten the burr out and not let go. Mine seems solid but who knows, with Spydercos CQI they are always improving maybe the native has a slight tweak on the HT protocol for better micro stucture. Maxamet is very new. If we remember S30V, it took years for production companies to figure out. Hell there were reports that the s110v military had an improvement in performance due to having a slight tweak on the protocol. Metallurgy is truly facinating stuff and it's such a messy process with so many variables it's more of a theory put to practice then exact science.

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 6 lety

      Big Brown Guy yea I know if there is an issue they will take care of it and you absolutely right about that damn burr I kept checking the apex on my pocket microscope and it took for ever I had to spend a lot of time on the higher grits and it seemed like I stropped the knife for an hour. The composition of these super steels always intrigue me and it’s super cool to look at them under the microscope cause you can actually somewhat see the grain structure for instance m390 looks super clean it has such a tight grain and takes such a keen edge. People definitely need to stop freaking out over such a new Steel all the haters thick that if they don’t get everything perfect the first time then its junk. I really hope that more companies grow some balls and try using a more wide variety of steels like spyderco does. I would love to see more 3v it’s just one of my favorites due to toughness and still being able to hold a good edge. I know you have experience with a lot of different steels what’s one of your favorites and yes I know that’s a really hard question to answer. Well brother hope your having a great day talk to you soon

    I cannot open my Inkosi like that. Mine is pretty stiff but I've only had it a couple of days, suggestions?

  • @Zelrick42
    @Zelrick42 Před 7 lety

    Very nice, how does the Inkosi fit in the hand, all the swoopy finger choils is why I got the 21.

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 7 lety

      Zelrick I went back and forth at blade and I will say the 21 has a little better ergoes but for me not enough to go with the 21 I've owned 3 21's and I think the thing that sold me the most on the Inkosi was how smooth it was but that's just something I really enjoy since my fingers don't tend to like the more hydraulic action on the 21 after I'm done with the honeymoon phase I'll send her your way so you can do a comparison of the two cause I'd like to hear your opinion on the two. Well brother hope your having a great day talk to you later

  • @nathand6939
    @nathand6939 Před 6 lety +1

    This review made me sad, I've got the same knife and it's almost new still but the action is horrible and the lockup is approaching 100% of the blade tang. I'm really trying to just believe it will magically get smoother and that I should be ok with such late lockup but I can't, my heart is broken. I've owned and own a lot of great knives and my Umnumzaan is nothing like this (I compare due to the ceramic detent and pivot design). Ug, QC must have missed mine.

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Před 6 lety

      nathan D I had the same issues with the 4 large sebenza 21's I've had and now sold that's the main reason I specifically got this one at blade so I could hand pick it and know it would be the smoothest I could find I went through a lot of blades. I would send it in to crk letting them know the problem and they will take care of it my small Inkosi had a sub par action and I dropped it off to them at blade and they totally fixed it. Well hope it gets resolved cause I know how bummed you are cause there not cheap knives. Let me know what you decide to do I would love to know what you decide. Well brother sorry my vid was a downer but I hope your having a great day talk to you later

      @nathand6939 Před 6 lety

      Stassa23 Thanks and sorry for blaming my sorrows on your video since it was a great review! I love the knife aside from these issues and I may fiddle with it some more before I send it off since I loathe waiting on warranty repairs. Usually I have success in dialing knives and I've dealt with the worst of them all (Striders) and won the battle of poor action. I'll update when I succeed since I'd like to keep this one.

    I bought a carbon fiber inkosi from knifeart.com. Haven’t been impressed at all. Wasn’t sharp, action is horrible, centering is off. I’ve cleaned it and worked it. I don’t know what to do.
