I love FriXion pens. I mean, serious addiction, got all the colors, got the Kese Lames, thin bodies, knocks, 4 colors, etc. But a business friXion? Maybe not a good idea to ink up business documents with a pen with disappearing ink if run through a printer or copier, or left in a hot car. 🤣

I have Pilot Frixion stamps that I use in my planner
I used to love the Frixion pen; however, I found that I was changing the refill twice a week. It would be a favorite pen if the refills lasted a little longer.

You gotta love how most of these "upgrades" forgo basic creature comforts like a rubber grip and just make you hold on to slippery metal. Super premium.
There's Mitsubishi Pure Malt and Pilot S series with wood body. Way better and more special than metal bodies pen.

I'm so delighted to share that I have all these plastic bodied pens and their upgraded versions! I would have added the G2/G2 Limited and the Pilot Varsity or Kakuno/Metropolitan. Great video!
I own the two 5-packs of Zebra Sarasa pens in vintage color, and then I bought the Zebra Sarasa Grand in some vintage shade of purple as a gift for my sister. She liked it.
But my favorite for personal use is the .38mm line of Uni Signo UM-151 gel pens (since the Pentel Hybrid Technica pens are limited to refill-only status in black, blue, and red. (And fortunately I have some Pentel Hybrid barrels, so I can still indulge in the best.))
I have a couple sarasa clips that I love, so I decided to splurge on a vintage grand. It's definitely the classiest pen in my collection, but I actually don't really like writing with it- the clip is extra long and gets in the way of the clicker at the end, meaning that I have to be holding it a certain way to retract or extend the tip. I don't mean to be a downer, but I was so excited about it and then so disappointed and I wanted to give my fellow pen lovers an fyi
There is a hack where you can take the clip from a f-402 and use its clip to replace the one on the Sarasa Grand. It's probably not a great solution for the vintage because they have gold clips. Just throwing it out there in case someone wants to modify their grand. It adds to the price, but it's still cheaper than most full metal pens.
@@KraftyKaitlyn that's sounds like to much work for something that's already expensive. The basic plastic body's always feel better imo.
I got my sister the Kaweco matte black metal one, and I'm honestly considering getting one for myself, it's so beautiful.

Upgrading to the Kaweco AL Sport was one of the best leaps I’ve made with pens. The metal ones are SO wonderful! I have a few of them now, all the aluminum, but I’m definitely curious about the brass.

My first Kaweco is a Kaweco AL Sport Stonewashed fountain pen, which is still light yet much more durable.

My LAMY Safari's are my go-to fountain pens; a joy to use for years. I love the feel. The upgraded LX certainly caught my eye.
I have had a Rotring 600 trio since before Tikky's were even made. It's loaded with a ball point, .05 pencil and the orange high-lighter refills and have served me well.
I still use Tikky .05 graphic pens for day to day journal and planner entries. fountain pens

The most useful upgrade for any old old model ballpoint is updated modern formulated ink refill , some had straight replacement, some might need hacking, and some can be fashioned via adapter but those keep the old favorite up to date

I look forward to trying out an upgraded version of the Zebra Sarasa Clip - it's my favorite pen so far! The only downside is that I prefer ~0.4mm because I write small and my cursive letters become fancy looking blobs instead of open-looped letters. lol
For ballpoint pen, “Rotring 600 + Pelikan Parker G2 refill” and “Rotring 800 + Jetstream Parker G2 refill” are my favorite now.
I have tried the Lamy Safari Fountain Pens, and the Kaweco Sport Plastic Fountain Pens from Jet Pens. Between the two I love Lamy Safari Fountain Pen, it's my favorite. Not to say that the Kaweco Sport is not a fanstastic Fountain Pen, it's a bit more scratchy than the Lamy Fountain Pen they are both EF. I am a little bit intimated to try the TWSBI ECO Fountain Pens because of the ink well, and no cartridge.
Frixion! I love my current frixion, but I want the upgraded one... Oh and the jetstream, I found my old uni jetstream which I haven't use for more than 2 years and it works so well, I would always happy to have another one... These are my best selection..
I love the TWSBI, especially as its available with a stub nib. It writes smooth as silk, well constructed and very reliable!

Lamy is great looking in plastic and the nib is really good. I've had problems with Kaweco F nibs and Sport is not really for travelling as the cap unscrews really easy so one has to find a secure case.
As a 10+ year Pentel Energel devotee, I splurged on a pretty white Philography a while back, and it's become my new everyday carry pen ever since I started this new job. There's a lot to learn at this new job, which means I'm taking lots of notes. I don't think I took this many notes back in college.
I use a Uni Oily Ballpoint Jet stream, they're shipped out from Japan.
I love frixion pen, one time I soil water on my note book, so I put on a radiators, my notes disappeared 😂😂😂

The uni jetstream alpha gel might be the best $10 i ever spent
Thats ₹750 for us. We can get so many Uni-ball gel pens, rollerballs, other ballpoints for ₹750, in India. I wouldn't spend even $2 on a Jetstream, more than once a year. Many normal ballpoints in India, are almost as smooth as the Jetstream, at one tenth the price.
I Understand that this was meant to be a more upscale video and a bit as your first videos, more serious and all, but the equalization of this video was just off.

Sarasa is cheap and has very wide variety of colors. However Uni One is the better pen as the ink won't ghosting easily on thin papers.

Hey jetpens. Are there any fountain inks or bottled inks that are similar to the pilot G2 or Pentel energel ink? I adore those pens but in order to save $ and be more environmentally conscious I’d like to just open the tip and just add more ink directly into the tube when it runs out, that way I only need a couple of bodies and a few refills!
You want smooth ink, Pilot Iroshizuku. You want archival ink, Noodler's Bulletproof.
Hi there! There are no fountain pen inks that behave similarly to the Pilot G2 or Pentel EnerGel, since fountain pen ink is naturally thinner than gel ink. We generally don't recommend refilling a gel refill with fountain pen ink, as the ink is likely to leak or gush out during storage and writing. I watched because of the pens, and any of the fountain pen upgrades are tempting! For the ballpoints and gel pens, I actually prefer the lower grade casings. Too bad I didn't see this before my order went in; but I'll get my new order next week, and it will be wonderful. 😁
