I wonder if it's because it is an uninspiring, monotonous and boring style to create for them. So much so, that they end up subconsciously self sabotaging simply to avoid having to make that kind of art. Maybe, it's just not fun for them. If it's not fun why do it? Just a thought.. Good question!

Nunez played the Simon Cowell role on their game show. If it was about his tattoos I don’t think he’d have made a finale. As for American traditional, true the repetition is there but I think any genuine artist can spin on that to make something from it that is unique and memorable. It reminiscent of graffiti characters from the 80s and 90s to some extent. You could also say your built up black n greys might not last on every skin tone. People should get shit they think is cool. One day your style, all styles, will be old, old isn’t necessarily bad. Ps. do you ever tattoo outside the US?

Got tattooed by a winner of ink master, I knew it was scripted but had no idea to what extent. He told me they told him on day 1 producers told him he was going to be the winner. Took away my interest for a while.
It depends on what style they are competing in! I think if they were on ink master and competed I think DJ would win but Niko would take him to school on color portrait day!
Idk... Ryan is pretty sick, I also really like Nikkos work and even Oliver! It's hard to say because they all have different styles! Obviously DJ would obliterate them in a competition.

Had the money, I would hire you in a nanosecond. As for the show itself... ugh. I couldn't get past season 3 I think. They should have changed the name of the show to Whaaa Masters. Bunch of babies always whining about this or that. No comradery. So much talking behind each others back. Felt like I was in grade school. Just couldn't stand watching the show anymore. Keep being you and love your work.

the traditional tattoo style created the foundation of your current job, without it you would be in a fast food restaurant so don't spit on the plate you eat. your tattoos are objectively well done, but they will never last over time, in 10 years they will be something that will be covered. People today still wear traditional tattoos made 40 years ago which are still in good condition.
I agree DJ or Ryan Ashley are the top contenders on the judges panel Ami can do more than Japanese traditional style tattoos if u ever watched his and Chris show Miami ink you would know more about them . Kat von Dee Katzin was on there as well . Chris and ami owned the shop together and made a reality show about it and life in a tattoo shop and the first of it's kind. Not ur fault ur to young to know anything about that.
just started seeing your work, via ig, like a cpl months ago. not gonna lie...your videos are super corny. however, your work...in a league of its own. did some video searches and saw the interview where you detail your experience on inkmaster (vs. ryan). great talk. fucking better than great. your story telling experience is very realistic and relatable to probably almost anyone. as much as I will continue to hold my vomit in, if I come across more recent/new vids of yours, I will ask the lord to give me patience and recall that older interview I saw. He uses a Dan Kubin sidewinder.... the stroke is adjustable.
