When my daughter was 8 years old, we were listening to the BeeGee’s ‘Too Much Heaven’ in the car & she said: “Dad, when I get married would you dance this song with me?” I told her that I would. “You promise? Yes, I promise you.” Dad kept his promise to his beautiful daughter almost 20 years later. On New Years Eve 2019, I danced the Father of the Bride & Bride’s dance with my daughter to ‘Too Much Heaven’. Promise kept.

They were 3 brothers, who sang together from the time they were 5 (Maurice and Robin were twins) and 9 (Barry, the one on the middle) years old. Barry, is the only one left. Both Robin and Maurice passed away from health problems. In the 70's they ruled the airwaves, having at one time, 6 of their songs in the top 10 on the radio airwaves. To say they were good, is an understatement.

"Too Much Heaven" is a song by the Bee Gees, which was the band's contribution to the "Music for UNICEF" fund. They performed it at the Music for UNICEF Concert on 9 January 1979. The song later found its way to the group's thirteenth original album, Spirits Having Flown. It hit No. 1 in both the United States and Canada.

    'The Bee Gees.'
I was married a year before this song was released. The song would have been our wedding song, even if hubby said no.
Maurice (on the right-short hair) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. I feel he should had been the lead on at least one song on every album.
Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices.
Andy, the youngest brother, who had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry.
The 3 brothers were also married and had children.
Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers.
On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more.) They were also writers for other musical artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook.' It is very nice!
On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family.
Listen to: Night Fever --- Emotion (a song written for Samantha Sang) --- You Win Again - Spirits (Having Flown-- ONE -- Staying Alive ---
I spent 2020 and 2021 listening to all of their music videos, talk show guests, videos of growing up, family videos and whatever else I could find.

You tube as a documentary on these guys lives. Born in Britain grew up in Australia, mum was a singer, left to further their career as teens, no formal training, just worked well together to write words and music, always sang together. Started working the pub as children. Set emotions to music, at 21 Barry was a master at his craft already. He has written over 1,000 songs, many hits, for the group and other artists. Wrote "Grease is the Word" for the movie "Grease."

So all of the money from this song was given to UNICEF. This was a live performance these guys were the greatest songwriters and singers that we’ve ever had in my opinion. Barry is in the middle he is the only one alive and I believe he is the oldest I think he’s 72. The left was Robin and his fraternal twin Maurice is on the right. Maurice passed in
2003 and Robin passed in 2012. They were younger brother Andy who was also a very talented singer passed in 1988. Next you have to do Fanny be tender with my love. I have a whole list for you but I’ll give it to you at a later time. Welcome to the wonderful world of the Bee Gees. They definitely stick an Arrow in your heart.
