What are your questions about working with kids and families?
My number one question is about Michele's price list. Does she have a sitting fee? Does she use package pricing or a'la cart pricing? I love her style and, though I've been doing this a few years, pricing is something I'm not terribly confident with. I live in a rural area with a rather small population, and I'm wondering if that matters (I'm thinking not, but I'd love other opinions. I am eager to learn and to have constructive criticism. Love your work, Michele, and thank you again for such a great presentation!
How to keep 3 three year olds still, and looking at the camera?
It's my first time that I see a tutorial on working with kids and photographing a family in studio! Learnt a lot! Thank you so much!
We have more for you over on the B&H Event Space page too, check this video out: czcams.com/video/Ia9Zu4O9aEs/video.htmlsi=Lf5t-ph-eRhrA4ee
What a great performance, Michele must have been a kindergarten teacher in another life. I can shoot my actor clients all day and not get tired but I was exhausted watching her interact with the kids. She earns her well-deserved success. I primarily shoot actors in connection to master classes where we have 20-60 stage actors who want to transition to cinema and do headshots, full length plus a 1-minute intro video and a scene of 2 pages of dialog. There are 2-3 day programs twice a month, plus child actor classes. They are all pro experienced actors from 5 to 75yo but most are females 18-35. It is great to work with them but doing the kids, despite being experienced actors who have been in plays and movies, I wish I had 1/10 the connection with the kids as Michele has. My partner is a mother of two actors in addition to her having 14 feature film roles and 6 years as female lead in a police drama on TV. She is a natural with kids and works with young actors. Her two daughters have been in movies from about 4 years old and now the oldest is 16 so I just set up the sessions and let her direct and interact with the kids because she is really good, like Michele is. One thing I notice is both these women rise their voice range to that of a child and can act silly with them. I struggle with keeping a session light and fun with anyone under about 15yo, as a very active 73yo male. This is a specialty where women have a distinct advantage.
Great to watch. By the time I finish photographing my grandchildren and or groups, I’m exhausted. Feel like I had to stand on my head to get the shot! But always fun. I have to have lots of happy for the grandkids. I find my closeups are always the best too. Thanks for this great tutorial/BTS.
She is really good with kids, I wish I had this superpower!
Great... passionate presentation
Love Michele she is the best!
i love everything about this video.
She’s amazing
What a gal!! so informative from a amazing photographer, I learned so much. This is going to be my go to training vid. Thank you.
Love photoshooots its goood for memories
Holy cow, y'all! Outstanding insights and great demonstration session. The B&H training sessions are among my favorites. It's wonderful that you guys still put these up for free for everyone to watch. It's a wealth of photographic knowledge. I still go back and watch the sessions from many years ago.
I really appreciate you guys and thank you Michele Celentano for allowing a crew to film you session and giving out great information to those of us who also enjoy shooting families!
So glad you enjoyed this session!
Michele!!!! Great instruction. 💙💙💙
A lot of great information to keep the customer happy and repeat business. Thanks.
This is so underrated. Amazing episode 🔥🔥
Excellent tips and content.
Wow. Great information! I need to find more energy, lol. Michele, your ability to work with kids is inspiring. Thanks for the BTS video. I always find them uber helpful. 😀
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you found this helpful.
This is helpful
LOVE THE VIDEO! You have the perfect personality for motivating the children, along with the PIZZA! :)
Thanks for watching!
I’m trying to start my own portrait photography business (near Phoenix, coincidentally) and she’s got a lot of great tips I’ve never thought of.
Bayside is actually in Queens but I really liked the video very much. Another great B&H video. Thanks a bunch.
O love the patience :)
do you only used one light ?
I love Michelle's photography and I'm so happy she did this with B&H! But, can someone please tell me what tripod and ballhead she's using? A person with arthritis would LOVE this! I saw her move that camera with such ease with the press of a button!
It’s the Platypod Platyball Ergo Ball Head: bhpho.to/3sotOKQ
The best photos are for graduation
In my family portrait work it’s me only. This video is nice & theatrical but it’s not realistic, with all the assistants and perfectly behaved kids. But very insightful presentation, nice to see good talent.
At a restauerant a client asked: "What's your favorite dish?" Photographer: - "The beauty dish!"
Michelle is from Bayside, Brooklyn? Spoken like a true non-New Yorker.
Beside her hair color I would haver guessed Michele in in her 50's Very good skin, stay out of the sun kids and you can have skin like hers. I have a hard time remembering peoples names, lucky I still remember my Wife's name. LOL Are my kids going to be idiots. LOL Good one.
Awe.... thank you.
I believe the FJ 400 came out in 2019. I remember seeing it demonstrated at Wppi before the plague
Yes, I think about 4 years ago.
Why are you grabbing those kids jaws??! Pretty rude and unnecessary. ' I really need you to not be so flipping miserable OK?' . Seriously. Think we will take our advice from elsewhere. This is awful. B&H I think you need to rethink this one normally I love the content but it is really not good practice.
Relax, it’s not that serious. She’s obviously good at what she does, so please stop hating.
@@youtubecommenter1000 clearly she isnt. I am professional photographer. No hate there but that simply isn't professional and she is B and H.
@@marcelowilson-barnett3768 Clearly she is and she wasn't even aggressive smh
Really sad that you threw out the whole tutorial because of that one small part lol. If l were managing B&H l would actually encourage you to please go ahead and take advice from elsewhere.
