    What are your questions about working with kids and families?

    • @tony.kmullinsstudio818
      @tony.kmullinsstudio818 Před 2 lety

      My number one question is about Michele's price list. Does she have a sitting fee? Does she use package pricing or a'la cart pricing? I love her style and, though I've been doing this a few years, pricing is something I'm not terribly confident with. I live in a rural area with a rather small population, and I'm wondering if that matters (I'm thinking not, but I'd love other opinions. I am eager to learn and to have constructive criticism. Love your work, Michele, and thank you again for such a great presentation!

    What a great performance, Michele must have been a kindergarten teacher in another life. I can shoot my actor clients all day and not get tired but I was exhausted watching her interact with the kids. She earns her well-deserved success. I primarily shoot actors in connection to master classes where we have 20-60 stage actors who want to transition to cinema and do headshots, full length plus a 1-minute intro video and a scene of 2 pages of dialog. There are 2-3 day programs twice a month, plus child actor classes. They are all pro experienced actors from 5 to 75yo but most are females 18-35. It is great to work with them but doing the kids, despite being experienced actors who have been in plays and movies, I wish I had 1/10 the connection with the kids as Michele has. My partner is a mother of two actors in addition to her having 14 feature film roles and 6 years as female lead in a police drama on TV. She is a natural with kids and works with young actors. Her two daughters have been in movies from about 4 years old and now the oldest is 16 so I just set up the sessions and let her direct and interact with the kids because she is really good, like Michele is. One thing I notice is both these women rise their voice range to that of a child and can act silly with them. I struggle with keeping a session light and fun with anyone under about 15yo, as a very active 73yo male. This is a specialty where women have a distinct advantage.

    Great to watch. By the time I finish photographing my grandchildren and or groups, I’m exhausted. Feel like I had to stand on my head to get the shot! But always fun. I have to have lots of happy for the grandkids. I find my closeups are always the best too. Thanks for this great tutorial/BTS.

    Holy cow, y'all! Outstanding insights and great demonstration session. The B&H training sessions are among my favorites. It's wonderful that you guys still put these up for free for everyone to watch. It's a wealth of photographic knowledge. I still go back and watch the sessions from many years ago.
    I really appreciate you guys and thank you Michele Celentano for allowing a crew to film you session and giving out great information to those of us who also enjoy shooting families!

    In my family portrait work it’s me only. This video is nice & theatrical but it’s not realistic, with all the assistants and perfectly behaved kids. But very insightful presentation, nice to see good talent.

  • @marcelowilson-barnett3768

    Why are you grabbing those kids jaws??! Pretty rude and unnecessary. ' I really need you to not be so flipping miserable OK?' . Seriously. Think we will take our advice from elsewhere. This is awful. B&H I think you need to rethink this one normally I love the content but it is really not good practice.
