Ashneer is the most understanding shark in my opinion. He is kinda rude and says in the very face but i bet he understands this industry the best. Besides shark tank has done wonderful job in selecting the sharks and has covered them in all the different forms both on entrepreneur ship and personality level

I agree with target kids with Class 6-10 as School drop out happens high after 7 and after Class 8 and kids are not able to continue their 10th. In India, if a Kid is educated till 10th, she/ he can do a majority of Skilled work. Since their Vision is Literacy and Not Education, so till 10th is right approach which is similar to Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan( SSA) which is also run by NGO which unfortunately in some cases become Money Minting. So this tech platform reduces this GAP. Well thought approach

Love the industry they are working in. With online education getting a kickstart because of Covid-19, there might soon be a time when we constantly follow a hybrid system in terms of education. AAS Vidyalaya is a very meaningful business idea from that perspective.

I am from a village. Many of my classmates stopped going to school after 7th because a high school was not there in our village and we have to go nearby villages for 8th. And I think this is what happens in most of the cases after the primary school, many students drop out because of change in school and there is a gap where parents are not capable or interested to send their kids to high school😒. Concept like AAS Vidyalaya is a hope that may be some day we will have a solution for this.
I don't think so. If your village didn't have school nearby then that means it don't have even basic facilities like wifi, electricity, high speed data etc. offline school is most engaging as per me. People so get bored and don't seat for whole day for online classes specially school kids who have less attention span. Also the setup and cost will be high which will be not affordable by those villagers bcz govt schools are others are too cheap nowdays and highly subsidised with mid day meals.

I prefer they should also have joined hands with govt. in Public-Private Partnership model. And if their is PLI scheme in this sector they should also have availed it.
Purpose is good but I was thinking something..they gave example of their househelp daughter who had quit the school..so mostly the reason behind it in 70% cases is financial problem..and clearly they r in this field for business so the question is will that class of socity would be able to afford the expenses of such schools..coz we know how much other plateforms charging for it

Edit: also dropouts aren't happening coz of lack of accessibility. Sometimes kids are forced to work or don't see the point studying. Cafes aren't gonna change that. Esp considering govt schemes are already incentivicing edu thru scholarships + jobs etc...

Most important is to make education skill building and not blindly distribute degrees and qualifications. But neither our Government nor our people think that way. Imagine a PhD in Sociology working at Starbucks or an Electrical Engineer working in a bank, it happens in India

I am from NIT I don't know if i can understand iit culture , but after reading the title , and carefully understanding what ashneer wants to say , 🤕the statement,
It made me question my self , I want to doo a startup , but i too have the same mentality , koi nii kar kay dekthay hai startup 15-20 lakh kii job tak too poach hi jingay 😔and I think this have taken toll on me so much so that , just because I know i have a safety net , i can't commit and am still not able to take the first step ,just postponing it

I don't want students to sit tablet for hrs and do online kind of teaching. Only offline and school type of teaching can increase their confidence and their way of standard

Online teaching requires less resources and funds over long term. Instead of hiring teachers and paying monthly to teachers across India, they need to purchase tablets, have their app on it, open a cafe place plenty of them, hire someone to watch over, one time high cost but overtime it will be way cheaper than opening a school for the poor. And those students are better off studying from tablets than not even being able to do that. Their parents gave birth to them, could not take their responsibility of raising them and paying for their education, and now someone is trying to help in some way and you have a problem in that while sitting in the comforts of your home doing nothing..Great!
