I can't remember where I heard this, but someone once said, "soap is soap". now when I have a cleaning product of any kind that I just don't like, I use it up by cleaning my toilet. that way it's not wasted.
That’s a fly lady phrase and it’s so true!
That is such a good idea!
GENIUS!
Thanks for this great idea!

When you do the 10 item wardrobe and hear to declutter 10 items 😳😂
Love this list and your ideas!!
🤣🤣🤣
😳😂😱That's so funny!
IN A PICKLE
Oh my! Oh dear!
What a pickle you are in!
Ten items you've decluttered
From your wardrobe that was ten
You'll need to do some shopping
Whatever will you wear?
I guess you could buy on-line
Even in your underwear
Oh, wait...you can't
No buying for two weeks
I guess your only option
Is to stay in bed and sleep 😴
I hear that! I typically run at 40 items or less for year round, 4 season living, and 10 items is a quarter of my clothes! I guess I could declutter socks and underwear, but occasionally it is nice to have those too? Lol.
I could totally see putting these things on my calendar on rotation - then they get done (or at least checked) every 2 weeks and things don't pile up. Living with less takes maintenance! It is not a one and done! Oooh - Day 13 done - just did that yesterday!
This daily challenge is so helpful! Thank you!
Loveeeee this video!!!!!!! Great tips and you inspired me even more!
I guess I am pretty darn minimal. I couldn't do most of these things. Great place to start for newbies!
Omg u give alot of good ideas thank u
Great video!! Such a great plan, so realistic and motivating. Thank you 😊💓

Declutter toys, I hope I got them all just as she said, great list :)
Hi love this! Looking forward to doing this challenge. BTW do you have a tutorial video on your hair braid? I love it!
So true. Big Business would love to see us fill up our cabinets with lots of prdts. However, remember our Grandmas & Great Grandmas kept "very" clean homes using soap, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, even lemon juice and many other natural ingredients. I just hit 70 and remember the pride that came from a neat & clean home. Folks didn't have excess stuff & seemed to enjoy life & socialize more.🙂
My one suggestion is to make the Toy declutter day the "Toys or Storage Declutter Day". Those of us who's kids are grown still need to be careful about mindlessly tossing items into a closet, basement or garage. It quickly gets out of control. 😄 I love your plan & am going to challenge my Hubby as he's the one who has trouble letting go of his stuff. Thanks for your plan you're a blessing. Kj 🥰 🙏
This is a beautiful reminder of the joy of simplicity. Thanks for your suggestion on the toys or storage declutter day!!
@@FancyThatwithCandice So glad to help. Will be checking back in to see what's new 😀 . As most of my "Boomer Buddies " the only things that feels 70 are my knees ! 🤣 I was the oldest girl blessed with a mom who was as minimalist as possible with a family of 7, so the example was set. My hubby (60) not so much. 😏 So stay cool 😎 & remember... "The Days are Slow but the Years are Fast ❣" 🥰
Great ideas. Thank you!
Love this! I am on 20th day of 30days minsgame and you gave me lots of inspirations where to find more items. Thanks ❤
Wonderful video. I am trying to start the minimalism journey.
You are so beautiful! Love the way you look always happy and motivated. It is contagious. 😊 Thank you for sharing and help us feel motivated to declutter and have a better life.
You have definitely inspired me. I have already decluttered quite a bit of the things you have mentioned awhile back, but I need to get back on task. This video was SO helpful. Enjoy your day!
I’m a newbie & am excited to do this challenge - thank you for making it practical & doable for those of us who work full-time outside the home ❤️
Great motivational video with self challenging techniques. ..going to try it for sure begins today...✌🌟
I just did this last week! However, I didn't think about emails and apps. I love how my bedroom looks now. Give what you don't need to a thrift store...it will help others. I love the bin under the sink. 😊
I will TOTALLY be doing this for the next 2 weeks, starting Sunday! My mom is finally able to come visit and I plan on doing some power hour declutter with her for the 2 weeks she is with me. Thank you for complying this list. :)
I love your videos! Great inspiration! 😊 Thank you. Btw, I Love how you style your hair!!
Thank you so much!!
This video reminded me that I need to go through my desk drawer and my closet. I brought in a few new dresses, but forgot to get rid of the ones that I was replacing because they are looking rough from going through the washing machine so many times!
Really loving your channel. This challenge is a great idea!
Thank you so much!
Because of your inspiration I have decluttered so much !!! I haven’t missed one thing and it feels so good 😊 thank you for the gentle push🥰
Going to try this challenge. Thanks for the inspiration.
Yay!!! Let me know how it goes!!
Love this idea. I'll implement when we get back from vacation. Fresh start, new reset. I actually think I have a "junk drawer," in all my rooms, lol. Not really, but kind of. Currently have no kitchen (remodeling), but there's one in the living room that has keys an extra bulb for the warmer, extra nail clippers, etc. The only good thing.... it's contained, organized, and minimal.
What a great video especially for a newbie, I have been on this journey for 4 years, so not much left for me to declutter, but as I watched this video I thought of two things a top I don’t wear, but it’s so beautiful I have a hard time donating it, but today it goes into my declutter box, and a small palette of eye shadow it has sparkle which I didn’t realize, and it doesn’t work for me…. For me, I will try to declutter one thing a day. What has helped me tremendously is one item in one item out. It’s the key to staying minimal…
I hope you aren’t decluttering the salmon color tee , I have the same one, and I love it 😉❤️
Great ideas!!!! Very motivated to get rid of a few extra clothes!!
I got rid of half and am living at my clutter threshold. I'm staying motivated to maintain my home. Stuff comes in and stuff needs to go out to maintain the balance.
Clutter threshold, I know that speak, kindred spirit.
You are fabulous! I thank God that you share your gifts with the world! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
You are SO kind! Glad you are enjoying my channel! Blessings!
You're less giggly in this video. Your confidence and comfort in front of the camera is showing. Good job!
You have intentionally boosted my self esteem!! I have been working toward minimalism for over a year. All but the emails, I have accomplished already! I am going to keep on pushing through the stuff, thanks always for your videos! Have a blessed day😁
So happy you have made so much progress already! Good for you!!
Love your channel, very inspiring. Love the fact that you share your struggles too. I also follow the Minimalist Mom and she always talks about when you have less stuff, you have more time. I sat my 2 boys down not long ago and explained to them that if we could decrease the amount of toys we have that it would increase the amount of time we have to play with the toys they still have. They were able to fill multiple boxes to donate and sell. We also created a maybe box as you both have suggested. We are now ready to donate the maybe box. It has changed my perspective as well as theirs. I completely agree with you that you have to involve your children. Not only are they helping but it is instilling in them life skills and they are able to take ownership as well. Again, thank you for sharing your journey!
I LOVE this!! Thank you for sharing your experience!
This is why I quit following Jes Marcy who first got me into the world of decluttering ~ with very little exception, she charges for everything she offers and it’s not cheap! So happy to have found you and Dawn and Dana and Cas ! Thank you very much !!
Ohhh she is beautiful! God bless her!
I LOVE this challenge 😍❤ I hope it will kickstart my minimalism-journey that for the moment is at a stand still, because I'm mentally stuck because of all my clutter.
An easy way to get started is to take out an double items that aren't needed
I started getting rid of random stuff 7 months ago. Best decision ever! Can't believe I had that much junk. Great tips
It's life changing! So excited for you and this journey!
I am not a hoarder. I have a “notmwl” amount of stuff. But sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by all the things in my house. I started declutering during the lockdown. I am still on it. And I feel sooooo free already....
Just chipping away a little at a time will lead to MASSIVE results over time!!! Keep it up!!!
Oh my gosh - emails - mine are the worst!! Def have to declutter my inbox, and love virgin river too!
Why are e-mails so tough!? And have you finished season 3?
@@FancyThatwithCandice I don’t know, it’s terrible!
No I haven’t yet - still got to finish off season 2, getting behind!
I am already on the minimalism journey. All of the things you’ve mentioned, except toys, my children are all out of the nest, are things I have done. I am excited to take the challenge and see what more I can find to purge. Minimalism is like an onion, every layer removed, has another layer under it.
YES!!! Minimalism is like an onion...100%
I've been working on decluttering and I'm taking up the 14 day challenge. I changed toys to jewelry since I don't have small children.
Ah perfect!!! Good luck!
In maintenance mode. Play the videos just to keep the message flowing. I actually found something to declutter today.
Correction on my earlier comment haha, you have unintentionally helped me😄
Glad to hear it!
Ok can you PLEASE do a makeup tutorial!!!! ❤❤❤❤
This is such a great plan! I have been decluttering for awhile, but this challenge will be a good reboot. I must admit, though, that I’m nervous about Day 12. I have a LOT of emails to go through. 😬 Wish me luck!!
Good luck!👍🏼
this is me too. good luck x
@@auni2955 Thank you! 😊
@@Homelifelearning We're in this together! Thank you.
I’ve been decluttering like a madwomen over the last 2 weeks.
Also, I love Virgin River. So glad season 3 is on now.
I just finished season 3 tonight! I laughed. Cried...everything. It's so good!
@@FancyThatwithCandice I’m half way through. Can’t wait to finish it!
Do u have a pdf with a list of the challenges? This is 👍great
I have been thinking about making printables! Thanks for your suggestion! I will get on that!
I decluttered my junk drawer about a month ago. My niece gave me a small shelf with two shelves in it. Instead of putting it on the wall, I put it in the junk drawer and I've kept it neat. I did the kitchen cabinets a couple of days ago and have about 12 extra plastic storage lids to toss. I decluttered my purse down to no purse several years ago. I had to buy a man's wallet because they don't make women's the way I needed it. But my wallet goes in my back pocket, my keys on a small carabiner on my belt loop and my phone in a front pocket. And I finally got rid of clothes that no longer fit about three months ago and went on a diet soon after. I guess you could say I "decluttered" my body down by 17 pounds so far! And the only food I have is for my diet recipes so, not much to get rid of there. At my age and being retired, I don't usually bother with make-up so I need to declutter and just buy some new basics. Oh...and there's a bag to go to Goodwill of "stuff" and three bags of books for the library. How am I doing? I know I feel better.
Is there a printable list? I am trying to write them all down LOL
Don’t know how I missed this video….. but, I’m gonna start the ‘14 day challenge’ tomorrow November 8….. this’ll be great and I’ll be done before Thanksgiving 🦃
This will be great before Thanksgiving!!!
I love wearing at least mascara everyday.
My least favorite thing to declutter is tech...texts, emails...anxiety!
AGREE!!!!!
You’re killing me smalls!!! I don’t know why that seems so hard to me right now!🤦🏻♀️🤪😂🙏🏼🙏🏼
Maybe just choose one of the days! The goal is to get started! :)
Great challenge! Would you mind sharing your favorite cleaning and make-up products?
Oh follow me on instagram!!! I share all of that over there!
I have found on this journey how I had loads of junk really. But I was lacking on what I could really use. I wound up buying some things which seemed to be “adding.” Part of me is like Cinderella and another part of me is like splurge. For example...maybe 10 year old spices other than salt, pepper and garlic powder. Old hand me down spice bottles etc. Papers to file in a 10 year old plastic box with hand me down mismatched files. Recipe books that came from the thrift store “as is.” So those are a few purchases I’m making, but I’m expecting those to last for the next decade or so. Lol. So among all this junk, I had still been “lacking” in so many ways. Is this normal once you go thru all your stuff? Bcuz I’ve gotten rid of about 4 truck loads of stuff I don’t need and working on my fifth. I’d say 60 percent of my stuff is out but I’m only getting a few new things that I feel are more “me” and also need a major redo. It feels diff this time tho Bcuz I know exactly what I want and what the purpose of these things are. I know the quantity I need and it’s one and done. In the past it was just random shopping out of boredom and amusement or buying things on overkill. Like if I needed a few containers, I’d buy way too many. More than I needed. Etc. Now when I shop, I look at many options before I buy and I pick my fave one. I consider many things like aesthetics, size (does it fit?), ease of use, quality (will it last?) and so on. Of course, I had a lot of fun winnowing the recipe books down and poring over what spices I’d actually need. (Prob like 10 or less). So I got the smallest set possible and will either use the jars for other things or donate what I can’t find a use for. There’s just so much irony here tho. Lol. I don’t think for me it’s “stop buying” but rather just learn more accurate, smart, strategic buying. But many times seems like you can’t see what you really need until you clear out so much junk you don’t need. Oh right. Christmas tree stuff is getting a much needed rehab also. Lol.
Lol, Sooo, I don't really have 10 clothing items to declutter, I have no junk drawer, and no makeup. Lol. I also just did my youtube subscriptions, from 3000 to 125. I have 10 books I put in the donate box last week, do those count? Lol.
I don't wear it much, but mostly because I haven't found a product that my skin won't break out from.
Just embarking on road trip, so not a time for a no buy. I do enjoy these, though.
Enjoy your trip!!!
What a Virgin River cliffhanger!!!
I have to giggle about all the lipsticks in your purse. I use to be like that too between lipstick and lipgloss.
Ahhh YES! I was SO bad with lippies! Once my toddler got into my purse and smashed all of my lipsticks into the carpet!
@@FancyThatwithCandice Oh NOOOO! :-( What a mess that would have been!
Still decluttering. Making progress. Some things on your list don't apply to me, like makeup, but I can tweak it to something else.
I posted this poem on your recent purge video, but since it fits with #14, I'll share it again:
PRINCESS MOMMY
I need to keep my Princess Mommy
Just a little longer
And this little lambie too
I'm not done loving on her
You can take away that dolly
You can take away that game
But playtime without Princess Mommy
Wouldn't be the same
Who would give the children hugs?
Who would feed the lamb?
Who would teach me how to be
The princess that I am?
I need to keep my princess
Mommy, she is just like you
And someday, when I'm all grown up
I'll be like you too
(Inspired by Lila)
Making me cry!!!! Thank you
@@FancyThatwithCandice 😘Honestly, this one makes me cry too. I'm so grateful to Lila for inspiring me.
I don't have a junk drawer and i don't wear makeup. No toys in my house. I don't have a handbag, and my wallet is already tidy. You Tube is the only app i use too much and i am NOT getting rid of it! My bedroom is already decluttered, nothing is under the bed. I LOVE the idea of the life reserve tho, and i really need to go thru my cleaning supplies! Also i have about 14000 emails so it will probably take me a week to deal with those.
I had about that many emails too. I read an article (May have been the Get Things Done guy but now I can’t remember) that suggested only going back 30 days in your emails and create folders for those emails. The folders were something like: Immediate Action, Read and Review (leisure reading stuff), Record Keeping (long term reference emails), Payment Receipts (e-receipts, etc), Tickler (events with ticket info or meetings with agendas in the future that also go on your calendar), and Waiting (anything you are waiting for a response to or a project to move forward). Then you make another folder that’s called Filing Cabinet. You move EVERYTHING ELSE from older than 30 days into that folder. If ever you need to look something up you think was older, you open the Filing cabinet folder and do a search there. Really it’s just the remainder of your inbox without cluttering your in box. You haven’t deleted all those emails, they are still there, just not in the way of new emails in your in box if that makes sense 😊
I’m giving away and decluttering my kitchen food LOL it’s all still good and in date it’s just carbs. My carbs I’ve got to go. LOL
I have also greatly reduced carbs, so I must politely decline lol.
Everything you've mentioned we've done minus the kid toys we don't have kids but we do have a dog so we went thru his dog toys. I could probably go thru my make up again I'm more a mascara and lip gloss girl not all the other stuff except special occasions. Right now we are working on a no extra spend and the meal planning. Love your channel. I'm having a garage sale in August and am shocked with everything I've come up with.
Having a garage sale is a GREAT idea!
Here is and idea, don't buy anything from Amazon in any month with a, "A" in it
I am such a fan but this minimalist journey has definitely put me off good. Luck with your new journey but I will be unsubscribing
Thank you for your support over the years...it was wonderful having you!
