- When we first tried to remove the front bumper and replace the front grille on this 2020 Chevy Malibu we went to CZcams for help. But, after finding there were no how to videos I thought I would make a quick one while we had to take the bumper back off again. Sorry for the Wind noise in the video. It drives me just as crazy as you.

It took me 3 hours watching your video I just cut the chrome clips Since I installed a black one as well.
So, when you buy a grill, it might be a good idea to have extra plastic clips?

I'm dreading this. My washer pump failed and I wish there was an easier way to access it. Normally you can go thru the wheel well and it's easy to access. Not these new Malibu's
I love the Malibu grill. Way better than previous models. Did this car come blacked out, or was it a chrome delete?
The original chrome grill was replaced with a black one
@@ColtonsGarage oh. Because if this was a chrome delete, I was going to say that's the best chrome delete finish I ever seen. I wish they had a black grill for a 2019 cruze. Thanks for the reply 👍
@@DirtyCruze. Yeah, paint doesn't stick to chrome well. It always ends up peeling. Wrap looks ok if done by someone that knows what they are doing.
You can get one for a cruze. Just search for a black grille, and a black grille surround.

Appreciate da video 👌🏾 I have a 2020 , you’re right ! they don’t have a video on here lol😂 but I’ve sprayed mines while on the car( just taped it good ) an boom 💥 but now I have to Do it again cause it rock chippings 😣. What kind of spray did you use an how many coats ? 🤔
That's what Issac had done to begin with, and experienced the same issues. Paint never sticks well to chrome long term. He ordered a new replacement aftermarket grille already black. You'll need the Upper Grille, Grille Surround, Lower Grille, as well as the Emblem. I'll see if I can get a link for you from him.

Hey buddy quick question I just got a 22 malibu rs. I wanted to replace the center bar which is chrome with a gloss black one. The upper and lower grille is black already do I still have to remove the upper and lower to replace just that center piece when the bumber is off?
Yes, it's been a long time since I did this. But, If I remember right though, absolutely everything was interlocked together.

Hi, can I fix the 2020 malibu bumper and headlights on the 2017 malibu?
No, it wont be a simple bolt up. 16-18 are interchangeable, as are 19-21.
@@ColtonsGarage I see, to replace headlights with LED, because the standard lamps look not pretty much.
@@kobapatiashvili5953 There are Aftermarket LED headlights you could buy for the 16-18 model years that are in the $400-$700 range. As well as companies that make custom headlights you could use too. With the custom lights they crack open the factory housing and retrofit different lights in, then reseal and bake them shut. They are on the expensive side though. But, give you the option of halos, and multi colored lights.

Hey where did you go to order the full bumper for a 2020
This is the original bumper cover to the car. If you need to order a new bumper cover typically I'll look at RockAuto or even Amazon for an aftermarket one. They typically don't fit as nice as OEM, but are a lot cheaper. However, you will usually still need to take it to a shop to be painted.

Where did you put your jack and jack stand?
I can't remember exactly what this car looked like underneath, but I always good for the frame rails or someplace solid on the subframe. I never go directly on the pinch welds.
I notice your blackened bowtie. Did you wrap it or did you paint it? How did you do it?
If I remember right he painted his. You can purchase aftermarket bowties in different colors or OEM ones direct from Chevy. They sell illuminated ones as well.
Where did he get that lip on the bottom of the bumper? And does it come in other colors? My 2019 Malibu is in white

Yes, he had a chrome grille and wanted a black one so that's what we are doing here.

So my Malibu got in a accident, some dumb dumb didn't strap down his load in the back of his work truck and it took a beating
I had to get the grill and headlight replaced and gm doesn't sell a true black one, and eBay doesn't ship just the middle part here, so I'm just going to sand blast and paint gun the new grill I got.
One question do I need to disconnect the blinker/running lights? If so it's just a simple quick disconnect or should I have a special tool read?
@@NWCPcbenchmarks It's just a simple disconnect. A typical pain in the ass car plug that leaves you cussing after the screwdriver stabs your hand pushing the locking pin in.
