Gidday Edward, Another great vid, mate! I do enjoy equipment reviews because I'm a 'wannabee' who knows nothing about overlanding and the associated gear. Great to learn from a master of the business. God bless, Dave
I have a traler that I’m doing the same thing as what you did but it’s I think about the same age as yours and I’m only 15 and can’t wait to go travel when it’s done
Now that’s a small package of dynamite. Shot for the tour of your trusty cart, Ed🤙 Amazing how much living space unfolds. Spring on the peg is a sweet idea. Thanks for the tip.
Freaking Awesome video Ed 👌 my Dad always told me, look after your equipment and stuff and it will most certainly look after you!!!! Great great video 👍👌✌🐾
H Edward, came across your review, very nice video and love the editing! I'm looking at a 2nd hand DW Lynx, 6 man tent for my family of 5 as need a little more space. Age wise its marginally newer than yours. You've given me much to think about, thank you. They're great trailers and buily really well.
Great video, thank you for the detailed information I'm looking forward to your next video and iv you need a solar panels I can give you an amazing price and assistance with anything you need for you solar system
@@EdwardBath doesn't matter mate we wont be able to get here in AUS. Thanks again for the review - Im about to build a small trailer for my new 200 series GX - has the ambulance doors like a troopy. Its cruiser number 9 and Im trying to fit 5 people and cattle dog in without spending $ on modifying the truck.
Thanks Shaun! I have now made the echo a much faster setup so on the trips with more base camping I will take the Desert Wolf which has a much bigger tent, awning etc and use the Echo on the faster paced trips!
Great video. Very professionally done as always. Question. Where can I get some of those adjustable lockable latches of which there are several on your DW trailer?
Thank you so much Sean! Really appreciate the constant support on the channel! Unfortunately I’m not sure where to get them, they were supplied with the Trailer from Desert Wolf so I’m sure they make them in their factory 🙌
@@EdwardBath found some on Amazon. A pair on its way. But, will try locally too at 4x4direct as they are very handy. I need to find a neat, strong & quick mechanism to secure my drawer & fridge platform for my Everest boot.
Saw one in Menlyn today, not sure how old, but the finish was better than many of the newer brands. BTW what stove are you using? SWAMBO ans I want a Coleman, but alas not here i SA!!
Good Review Edward! You might want to add abitmore data though; What does it weigh when U are about to hit the road? & how much (more) fuel does the tow vehicle consume both on & offroad? :-)
Hey Peter, I’m really sorry mate, not sure how I didn’t see this comment 👎 thank you so much for the kind words 🙌 so unfortunately it’s almost impossible to include the weight of the trailer as trailer manufacturers state the tare weight as unloaded, meaning that weight is without the tent, water, fridge etc. I will definitely be including more info in the review of the Echo 5 though thanks for the tip! Keep well mate🙏
Hi Ed, we loving your videos, thank you. We just got back from 12 days in Kruger. We borrowed a camping trailer and are now exploring options to get our own rig. Would be great to get some advice from you. There are so many options on the market and it can get quite overwhelming 🙈. We have three small kids and so we need two sleeping areas. We are thinking an off road trailer with a large roof top tent that could sleep all of us. Maybe 2 queen size mattresses would do the trick. We borrowed a Conqueror commander caravan for our recent trip but we found it too big and heavy. We want something more nimble and easier to move around. Would be super grateful for any advice you could give us. Cheers Jeremy & Lydia
Hi Lydia! I would recommend the Echo Chobe, it falls in between an off-road caravan and trailer so it’s a pleasure to tow and setup but it still has the options of two big beds 🙌 it’s a great product and definitely one I would recommend as I also don’t like towing anything two big and heavy 🙌
@@EdwardBath Hi Ed, hope you are good. We bought a Flexopower 150 watt solar panel, do you think this will be good enough to last us 5 nights at Tzendse. Will mainly be used to power our 90l NL and maybe some lights? Thanks a lot. Jeremy & Lydia. P.s when’s the next vid coming out??
Please please please tell me where you found your fire strikers. I’ve been hunting high and low for them.... awesome gear... Also great rope tip for tying down the awnings. I’m going to use it and tell everyone it was my idea. Ahaha hahahahaha.
@@EdwardBath in my search for fire strikers after seeing ASPW & Paul Marsch recommending them too, as paramedic I have several firefighter mates and none of them think these are the panacea they're made out to be. At best, have them (very costly) but, don't replace your conventional fire extinguishers with them. Perhaps have both then.
Sean it’s all relative, you would almost never need to use either of them except in an emergency but a traditional fire extinguisher needs constant maintenance whereas the fire strykers don’t, I agree carry both but the Strykers are definitely more convenient 🙌
@@EdwardBath I think both is a winner. Stryker as first line of defense while someone else fiddles with the conventional extinguisher to bring up the rear. 😏
Howzit! I’ve run 2 different rooftop tents on the cruiser, a soft shell Frontrunner one and a hardshell ikamper SkyCamp 2x and have enjoyed both of them but I’m changing over to a ikamper SkyCamp mini in the next few weeks which should be the perfect one! 🙏
Like the fact that you can match tyres with that of vehicle.
Fantastic episode and amazing to see a trailer that holds up after so many years. Nice one bud.
Thanks mate! Number one fan 🙌

Wow, that’s awesome! Loved the episode!
Hi Edward. Great video as always. I dare you to weigh the trailer fully laden...😉
Thank you so much! 🙌 I’m sure it’s going to be a rather frightening number 😂 all in the name of comfort though 😂🙌
Beautiful trailer

Hello Edward, another great episode. I am glad to see one of our trailers in such good hands. Great video, I enjoy watching your channel. Arie Kieser
Thank you so much Arie🙌 I really appreciate the support on the channel and thank you for making an amazing product! 🇿🇦🙏
Arie are they still manufactured today?
They are Sean! And they are even better than they were back then 🙌

Yet another spectacular video, you inspired me to get out. How long does the 5kg gas bottle last ? say you cook breakfast and supper?
Thank you so much mate! 🙏🙏 the 5kg gas bottle lasts a very long time🙌 probably 4 big trips! So around 60 days of hard use!
Ed, I have a similarly old Dessert Wolf Cub - could you please let me know who customized yours for you? I’d like to improve mine

I've watched the walk-around of both your trailers now. Both are awesome. What are your criteria for choosing the one over the other?
