American Girl Haul: My Store Purchases from February to July

I'd love to know which of these items you also have or which (if any) are on your wish list. The original snood had yellow feathers! They were from addy’s elderly neighbor friend’s bird I believe. So it made more sense before they swapped them out for ribbon. Very shortly before the rerelease I finally bought addy’s birthday outfit secondhand, and then they brought it back out! But I got a deal on mine so I’m not mad about it (though I wish I had the shoes the rerelease comes with.) Also, Gus Gus is the chubby mouse 😂.

My favs are Claudie in Tiana’s work outfit, Oliver in his jog suit and Cinderella’s accessories. (My grail would be Claudie complete with the Bakery. If I only played the lottery I might have a gazillionith of a chance of winning and owning it😂😂😂.) Thank you for another great video❤
Claudie's collection is really lovely and I think Tiana's work dress just fits in perfectly.

I love your commentary on all of the outfits! It’s hard to tell the quality of the Disney pieces even in person, they’re behind glass at my store. I also love the bitty dress on AG’s! ❤
Yeah, most of the outfits at our Columbus store were available to touch and see up close, but some of them were hidden inside the display cases and that was always annoying.

This was really fun! Thank you for showing all of the details! Also the original Addy birthday outfit had 2 yellow feathers from M’dears bird Sunny. It was a bird that was part of her original collection.
Yeah - I guess I didn't realize that it originally had feathers and that they were part of her story. Someone else commented that as well. I love how educational viewer comments are!!
Pink dress is incredibly close to the movie and one of the very first times that I’ve ever seen it done outside of paper dolls when I was a little girl. It’s always been one that I wish they would do and I am so glad that AG decided to do it will I buy it probably not but I’m glad they did it for, the Disney people who really really love that. Cinderella was the first movie I took my daughter to see and she was a riot. I don’t think I would send either of the dolls to my granddaughters. They have enough of their mother’s collection to last them a lifetime.
Yeah, even though I'm not a huge Disney person, I think this collaboration is great. It's smart business-wise and it gives so many fans two things they love simultaneously.
I hadn’t seen an unboxing of Cinderella’s work dress yet! It actually looks better in your video than in stock photos. I still may not get it, but I could be convinced. 😅
Cinderella’s sewing scissors and tape measure are close to Addy’s from her beforever sewing set. Bonus - use them for Addy!

Hi Kristie, I love Tiana’s work dress too. I have it on my Melody and she’s owning it! 🤗 I loved hearing about your first date in New Orleans. I also tried Beignets in New Orleans on a work trip. It’s such a fun place to visit! I have the two Cinderella outfits and I love the mice! The dolls can actually hold them. ❤

I've actually gotten a lot too! I didn't like the Olympic outfits, but I did get the 2020 Olympics NIB Gymnastics outfit, my coveted Felicity's town fair dress, Nanea's swimsuit for my Maryellen until I can someday afford hers, and Etsy haul of a dress, dark jeans, and cheer tennis shoes for Lea!
Ooh, you *have* been getting some good finds! I bet Nanea's swimsuit (I assume you mean her second one, the pink and white stripes) will look amazing on Maryellen, and that town fair dress is a holy grail for a lot of Felicity fans - congratulations!!
@agtakesover Yep... got that and the accessories bag they released... just been on back order. I just got the swimsuit yesterday. The town fair dress will probably be at our fall meet for pictures. I am so giddy I found it with the pamphlet under $100!... which sounds crazy that is a deal.
OMGOODNESS I have the original Addy’s birthday outfit with the boots, and I’ve been putting them on incorrectly for years 👀, and you can’t tell the boots are on the wrong foot,,, Thanks for pointing that out , I feel some kind of way not knowing that 😳

Just a few packages lol. I watched this the other day on my TV and didn’t comment. My TV has the functionality to dictate what you want to type but I don’t know how to use it so I have to come here to my phone and make my comments here and I forgot what you unpacked. Well, maybe not there a few things I do remember so let me just leave some random thoughts. I am not into the Disney princesses either. I did buy Tiana and a couple of the outfits and I haven’t even opened them yet, so I’m certainly not that person who rushes to open things the minute they come out most of the time. I have 8 dolls to unbox and a lot of other stuff.
Although, I did that with Lila because I was really excited about her. I honestly can’t believe when I bought that doll and some accessories. I went home and made a Video that night - cray cray lol
Another random comment about the birthstone outfits. I totally agree with you. I’m not impressed by them but I did buy the outfit for my birth month and I actually bought a second one and didn’t even know I bought one already so now I have two 😂
I don’t know if you asked for comments at the end about something specific but I don’t remember so I’m just going to say - I always enjoy watching your videos!

I'll go in order of the items shown with my comments.. I have the blue Team AG blue jogging outfit (bought when it was discounted after the 4th). #1 Because it's blue and #2 It's good for boys. Disappointed that the stripes are plastic instead of ribbon. Same with the white skirt and knit jacket. I don't consider that a sweater because it's knit fabric. I wondered about that because no one has described well. Tiana's Work Outfit. I have that, too. It's green and a color that I also asked for, along with more blue. I wished they had lined it. That would improve (conceal) the thinner material. Prefer dresses to not have pockets so ok with that. I have the blue gown, too. I'm ok with the fabric. Ariel's Day Dress is on my wish list. I think that is also stamped not embroidered and it looks cheap. Also on the wish list is Cinderella's Day Dress. My one comment on that is that the apron should be white cotton not satin. It's because it's for little girls but the help wouldn't be wearing satin aprons. If I dislike the white trim on the bottom I'll just remove it. I'll see what it looks like on the doll (already going to make a white cotton apron). I don't buy these for resale value. I sell the things I don't like, for instance, Nicki's pjs. I bought it for the monkey slippers alone and have flannel material with monkeys in them to make boy pjs. Not buying any of the pink dresses so no comment on them but do like the pink pumps that came with Ariel's gown. I hope they make more of that style with other gowns or Christmas party dresses. All in all the more I see of the AG vs Maplelea outfits I'd like to see Maplelea put out more because they are better made, cheaper with exchange rate, and much better quality material. Limited sparkle, glitter, and gold of silver plastic stamped on designs. I'd like to see AG up their quality not just up their prices.
Re: Maplelea, I will share that I purchased the Mooncakes outfit and had it on one of my CYO dolls for a couple months. When I changed her outfit I realized the jacket had caused SEVERAL stains all over her arms. I reached out to another agtuber friend who has one of his AG dolls in the same outfit. I asked him to check and sure enough, his doll's arms are stained too. It's definitely the jacket. Maplelea was stumped. They put the outfits on their dolls for two months to make sure there is no dye transfer so they were truly puzzled and the answer they have is that because AG doll limbs are larger (diameter) maybe the cloth/thread is resting on the limbs with more pressure and that's the cause. At any rate, I have to foot the bill to send my doll to AG for new limbs, but they're giving me an equivalent store credit, so I think that is fair. And I'll still shop from them, but I may pre-wash any dark colors, test them on my TLC doll Ginny, or layer another clothing item so my dolls are protected (or some combo of these three solutions).
I have Tiana’s work outfit and it’s lovely. I like that you put it on Claudie. I got it for my Tiana along with some Claudie clothes (I’m doing the Claudie/Tiana thing opposite from you).
The Team AG outfit in Oliver is awesome. I might get it if it goes in sale. I really dislike the cost of the new outfits.
I have the original PC Addy school outfit and it a really nice outfit as are most of Addys. She has a beautiful wardrobe.
Thanks for the info on Tiana’s fancy dress. I actually haven’t seen any reviews of it. I’m in the fence about buying it. I might get Cinderellas dresses as I have always loved her movie. I won’t get the fill unless there’s a big sale in her.
I’m really hoping for Mulan at the $125 price point not the collector price point. That price point kept me out of buying Jasmine who I love.
Mulan would be great! And I hear you about the new outfits. It feels a bit nuts to me, too. We just keep using rewards and shopping sales because I'm not trying to pay $55 for a basic outfit!

I got Kirsten’s from the re release cause I don’t have a lot clothes for my Kirsten and I got it on sale or I wouldn’t have gotten it.

I have to buy Addy's and joesafina birthday dresses. I bought Kirstens when I ordered Lilla so I got my reward certificate to redeem and since the frozen LE doll's are not something I can get I can at least get my girls their birthday dresses that I've always wanted since I was a little girl
That's great that you're going to get dolls you've wanted for so long! I'm passing on Elsa and Anna. They're pretty, but our Shimmering Silver doll makes a great Elsa and my custom Joss Alice makes an excellent Anna and I'm making a point to be selective about which dolls I add.
In the process of changing Kirsten into birthday dress and meet dress I lost one of her meet shoes. Haven't found it yet chances are the one of our dogs ran out the door with Kirsten shoe. It's not the first time I've found a chewed up doll shoe outside And it won't be the last.
This makes me think of a FB group specifically for buying, selling, and trading *single* AG shoes. I can't remember the name of it, but it just shows that there's a group for everything.
Addys birthday outfit is super cute, but I don’t have addy, so I’m not sure who I could put it on
IDK - I have all of Kit's overalls and put them on anyone since I don't have Kit herself. If you really like it I'm sure one of your other dolls would like it :)
I too didn’t grow up with any Disney fascination so I have no interest in any of the Disney dolls (thankfully). I have considered buying the Cinderella dress and Tiana dress to use as costumes but I have heard the same critique you gave about the dress fabric and I am not to keen on getting them now. I think I will hold off and see if they go on sale later on and then maybe the price will be low enough for me to splurge on them. We shall see. Thank do love the looks of the Cinderella work dress but because of the fabrics shown it seems to dressy for me, it should have been made with cotton fabrics instead. It is supposed to look dingy it’s a work outfit! LOL. But the colors are so good together ugh, I’m so tempted to get that one.

I was wondering if the Garnet outfit’s faux leather jacket is very stiff? Similar to the pink jacket in the Celebrity Chic outfit. That jacket is so stiff it’s difficult to get it on properly, I just hate it and I’m so disappointed over their choice to use that fabric for a cropped jacket. I’m guessing the Garnet outfit’s jacket won’t be as annoying since it has sleeves of a different fabric, I was just curious if they have other pieces of clothing in that horrible stiff faux leather. I’m also guessing that faux leather fabric probably won’t stand the test of time? unless there’s an ingredient in it that prevents degradation. 🤔TY!
ETA - I completely agree with you on the Disney stuff; I had some Disney growing up but I don’t have a strong emotional connection to it. I loved the Cinderella and the Little Mermaid movies, but didn’t get the dolls or the dresses. I kind of want Ariel, but I’ve been waffling on her for so long I’m not sure it’ll happen 😂
I did end up getting play line Rapunzel (today lol) and the collector Frozen Anna, because I loved the head molds and features not because of the characters they represent.
The jacket of the garnet outfit is not at all stiff -woohoo!! And congrats on your two new dolls. I am marked safe from both releases, but Grace may decide to get the play line Rapunzel.

I think you need to have plastic scissors for safety reasons/children I think. Just a thought.
I had to think SO hard to figure out what you meant. Then when it hit me I was like, "Doh! Cinderella's scissors - obviously!" I think they could have made them metal (not sharp, just metal) without safety concerns since they're for 6 or 8 year olds and kids that age use actual metal scissors. More than likely it's just a cost thing - but they're still very nice looking.
