It was initially a high-quality final session, but Bingham ran away with it. As a Ronnie fan, I feel disappointed that he's knocked out, but you have to give Bingham his credit as he played phenomenally. I like Bingham and would be happy to see any of the semi-finalists win now.

Conditions were a massive leveller this year definitely. The three best touch players (Ronnie, Trump and Allen) all going out can’t be a coincidence. And lack of century breaks backs this up.

Fair play to Bingham but that’s about as bad as I’ve seen Ronnie play in the last year that first session was horrendous I don’t know how he got out of it 4-4.
Agree. Ronstable never got above his B+ game all tournament i felt and it took Bingham to expose that.
Abt time they have sorted the pockets. For loads of years the commentators were saying the pockets were tight yet they were flying in high of the jaws and high of the cushions a bit like big pocket pool tables when they never should of been going in. Going by this year's pockets they have really been deceiving us, this is what the pockets should be. Been saying for a long time, you can see when you watching, how has that gone in hitting so high up, I feel vindicated now.
These are best players in the world it shouldn't be like that. Hope they keep these pocket fittings going forward, for me it's made it far more entertaining, that you might get a miss, than predictable first chance, end of frame, one dimensional, no tactics or safety play to speak of.
Was just becoming a game of first chance and not really a game or contest. That has changed somewhat this tournament with proper pockets.

They were ALWAYS going on about how tight the pockets were, I was NEVER convinced, now it's come out they were deceiving us.I know that if a table does have tight pockets there is NO WAY a player is able to pot into corner pockets yet Dennis Taylor and other commentators were always saying how tight the TV tables were.They have now been found out as Tuesday match the balls never went in at times.Even Neil Robertson said the pockets had been to generous till now.

@@BrianVincent-gz2dq they just playing tighter this time around, I think they more how they should be however. They said were a new batch of tables. Number of centuries are down this year as a result, be interesting to see in completion of the tournament by what margin.

In my opinion Ronnie's problem is that he's such a good player. When he comes up against someone who's also playing a very good game and ends up making it an even and competitive match, he tends to think he's playing badly and gets frustrated with himself because he's used to being so superior to everyone else. I've seen it happen several times and yesterday at the end of the game it started to show in his expressions.

Imho a crazy decision not to go for the red. I didn’t get the sportsmanship angle, once the black was spotted properly just knock the red in, Bingham had no issue whatsoever. Strange one!
I think that cost him big he in my view did something unnecessary just to prove a point that no one gave a monkeys about, he will rue that decision but saying that he was not really at the top of his game.
When Bingham is at his best it surprises me that he's not won more. One of the best break builders around. Sometimes just lacks self belief and maybe concentration.
Best worlds for a few years, look at last year. Real Snooker fans like to see a new champ as well as the favourites win now and again. Totally unpredictable now, love it.

Both have won 7 World titles. But thats the only stat where they are tied. Any other major stats like UK,Masters,ranking tournaments Ronnie O'Sullivan has an edge over Stephen Hendry.

Hendry dominated for a decade but he had no longevity and barely won anything after turning 30. Ronnie had a lot of up and downs and didn't dominate like Hendry but he has incredible longevity.
Its a very different career path but both successful in their own way.
Not taking it away from bingham but he did get the run of the ball on several occasions not only against ronnie but also jack. Also seemed like every time there could be noise booing from table 2 and people moving about it was when ronnie or jack were taking shots

I honestly think the issue with the crowd coming in rattled him. You could see he was agitated. Personally I didn't think there was any need for him to speak to the ref the way he did, she was only doing her job.
But he has form in that regard, absolutely delighted to see him out
She was pushing Ronnie to get on with it immediately rather than just patiently letting the crowd settle which wouldn't have taken very long. I don't think she handled it very well.I could tell he was agitated by her.
Bingham was the better player today. He was more clinical with his breaks and missed fewer easy balls. Good luck next year Ronnie and I hope Stuart wins his 2nd 🏆 really top bloke !

Brilliant match...ronnie wasnt his best but played well...Bingham made mistakes but wasnt punished enough..apart from that Bingham deserved the win..that guys got heart and determination...great match.

I'm a Ronnie fan more than a snooker fan and so that's the end of the tournament for me. He's a natural talent I actually understand his mentality it's not about winning at all he just wants to feel comfortable when he plays and for the game to come easy to him, when it doesn't he don't enjoy the game. I'm a golfer and am exactly the same I love the feeling of a perfectly struck ball and it feeling natural more than I do fudging a low round together. When you're not hitting it right and it's all a struggle and feels alien I hate the game and want to quit. Some people will never understand this mentality as all they want to do is beat their mates for the ego and that's fine, each to their own.

He has won The UK and Masters this season but didn't even play well in them and still won.
Strange guy. Keeps saying how pleased he is with how he is hitting through the ball despite the fact this is the worst I've seen him play in any world championship. So many chances offered up to Ryan Day in the second round and then the same again against Bingham. Not surprised he lost.
He comes up with utter rubbish, as his way of dealing with the hurt. The irony is the whole "not bothered" nonsense, which has always been far from the case.

Maybe his mindset is just better. He's played better than this in the past been really unhappy with his game so it makes no sense to us but he's been working hard for this.
Interesting that he was talking about winning a few more world titles while he was in it I feel he was really quietly confident this year more than others and it just didn't happen for him.
Ronnie did well to stay composed and fight back to keep the game level until 11-10 whereas if this was a couple of years ago he would have checked out mentally earlier on in the game. He's learning to hang on in there and building resilience when under the cosh. As for going for the 8th title, he should be allowed to do it at his own pace.
He is the GOAT but if you were being fair, he wasn't playing great. I thought if he makes it through and playing on this form, he wouldn't get beat in the semis for sure, even against Jak Jones.

Ronnie is undoubtedly the greatest snooker player ever so far, but I have to say that apart from him not playing well right now, he is not at ease with himself, whereas only a few months ago, he was a lot more relaxed and having a lot more wins. He is undoubtedly under a lot of pressure right now, making remarks about and to the young referee, and remonstrating about the audience not being seated. He will get that 8th title, but needs to throw off the pressure if he can!

Hendry is a class act whereas O’Sullivan is a disgrace to the sport. O’Sullivan could win 20 world championships and will never match hendry for class and sporting integrity.

Difficult to see who is going to pick up the Baton, None in the last 4 but I actually see it coming from China, Si or Yeulong (who was really disappointing in qualifying this Year)

It's no coincidence, that for all Trump's relative success, he more often than not, completely underperforms in the triple crown events.
He couldn't tie O'Sullivan, Davis or Hendry's shoelaces.
I do like the fella and I admire his style but at the same time he frustrates the life out of me.

There's also a lack of Snooker clubs, Social clubs and British Legions these days in the UK for any youngsters to develop any potential talent they have.
In my local town I've unfortunately seen the closure of the Snooker hall plus a number of other clubs down the years.
Unless you're incredibly fortunate enough to own or have access to a full size table, your chances of playing are extremely limited.

I'm a snooker fan of nearly 40 years and this semi final lineup is bordering on a disaster for the sport.
The tables were an absolute disgrace this year from what I can gather.
