hello, thank you so much for making this video!! I really appreciate your transparency, especially with revealing snippets of your experience and personal statement sections. :))
these videos are super helpful! Thank you:)
This is super helpful. Thank you!
great video and great insight 👍 good luck on your journey in medicine
Congratulations on getting to UCSF and I’m so happy you’re representing the Hispanic community!!! UCSF is my dream for MSN!!
That’s is cool Doc!!! My son will be attending ucsf med school next year.
Good record. Being hispanic is a big plus also
Hey man! Great video. Would love a MCAT video on tips and advice you have for students based off your experience!
Hey dude, glad you enjoyed. I do have one, feel free to check it out here: czcams.com/video/M3kt7-GP_Vk/video.html
@@avmed1445 What other medical schools did you end up interviewing/getting accepted at?
Thank you for the vid. Did you have any clinical experience? I’m not sure if you considered the research your clinical experience or the volunteering
noticed you were the president of a fraternity in undergrad, i’m also in a fraternity and wondering if being president/vice president would be something that would look good as a leadership role or would be more of a hindrance on my application.
Amazing video, I can’t believe we both are Peruvian from the bay and went/go to berkeley 😂. Wayy too many coincidences! I was wondering if you are currently willing to mentor any undergraduates 🙏🏻
Sure! Email me at adrianadvice100@gmail.com
Super video! Sometimes people think that they got into UCSF because of their essay, but you might have gotten in DESPITE your essay.
Although it's a good story, you took 3 paragraphs to get to answer the key question: "Why do you want to be a doctor?"
I suggest applicants get to the point faster.
Congrats on UCSF!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you take the MCAT ur sophomore year? Did u take AP classes in high school
I took it the summer after my sophomore year, I front-loaded a lot of the coursework early. I only took a few AP classes.
Hi,, i am from INDIA, can u please guide me,,
There are so many majors that it’s a bit confusing for me,,
I wanna pursue medical line,,
so i should be choosing HUMAN BIOLOGY EMPHASIS or other Biological Science majors??
And what minors should i choose..
What did you major in and what was your backup plan?
Biology - no back-up plan, only planned for success.
How did you graduate a semester early without taking 120 units?
He prob had credits transferred from AP test and etc from highschool
Is UCSF a public school?
Yes, it is. It's part of the UC system. Already competitive for in-state as is, so you have to be extra special to even be considered as out-of-state.
Did you get a full-ride to UCSF medical school 🤔
I wish! haha.
@@avmed1445 hopefully you got some kind of discount of sticker price at least 50%
Being a hispanic and the disadvantaged are the most important factors that you got into UCSF, please remember this is California!
A cGPA of 3.90, sGPA 3.87, and mcat of 518 is quite literally enough to get you into any medical school in the country if you have a great personal statement with good EC.
That holistic crap that med schools throw around doesn’t mean shit if you dont atleast break a 3.5+ gpa and/or a 510+ mcat. Anyone who is familiar with amcas or med school would know this.
Someone is bitter, racist and another self hating Asian still not getting into schools even after affirmative action is gone :)
That is not true at all. Don't be bitter my dude.
Then why arent there more hispanics in medicine
Damn jealous much?? Hispanics make 12.5% of medical school matriculants he definitely deserves his spot with all the work he has done
