I think a good fighter had to been humbled at some point and they’re very intellectual and soft-spoken. A lot of Pacific Islanders are really good fighters. I grew up around Hawaii Guamanian Somoa Tonga a lot if good fighters just indestructible and sleeper attitudes really nice people but have that switch and then there is no talking

Especially if they're friends enough to shut me up before I start something I know I can't finish. It was the alcohol. I had to stop. I totally turn into a person I don't know. I've trained with some absolute animals when they turn it on, but the nicest people outside of that. In fact, they are the last people who want to fight.
A general thought on the police. They are neither your friend nor your enemy. They are there to do a job and there are as many apathetic ones as with any other job. Be polite and protect your rights.
I was involved in a pool hall fight once. The night started out alright hanging with my friends. Then It went south and went south quick. Some Hispanic boys tried picking up pool sticks for striking. Basically the entire fight went down around the pool table. Lots of opportunity weapons laying around. Pool sticks, balls, beer bottles and glasses. Yeah that was a crazy night. The place cleared out after that fight.
@@charliedurnford3277 I lived by the coast. The number of cases the person who enters the water first survives and the good samaritan who trys to rescue them dies is pretty shocking. It's very common. People even die in to rescue their dogs. Dog survives and they don't. If your not a competant swimmer you will make the situation worse. Rescue 101 don't put yourself in danger.
Thanks for sharing this. I've done security for 20 odd years too, I'm in Victoria Australia, I've got about a hundred stories too I could tell and I might tell a few on my channel. It's the same over here - if a guard hits someone in self defense it's always the guards fault! Depending on where I've worked I've had some great cops, but most of them couldn't care less about you or even have contempt for you, you are right in saying coastal towns are the worst, I worked in a coastal town for about 10 years, the main trick is to get in with the locals cos when shit went down they would have your back, especially when big groups from big cities would come down and start trouble
I think maybe they were concerned about the optics of possibly arresting a trans person. Trans organisations can really kick up a fuss and get a lot of press attention if they think the police are being transphobic. There are some trans people who just put on a wig and Britney Spears clothes and call it a day.
I was arrested here in Japan. The police did the same thing to me, and I worry about what kind of secret records thry have now. Total prejudice against foreigners here. Horrendous.
My mate is a 140kg Islander. 4 Sudanese came to the club he worked at. He wouldn’t let them in. One pulled a knife and said to him have you ever been stabbed. He said back have you ever been knocked out. The bloke pulled a knife and my mate knocked him out and then knocked another one out. The other two ran off. Cops came and shook his hand and left.
13:07 i’m from Blackpool. The police do not go in the sea. Back in the 1980s, a man went in the sea after his dog. Two policemen and a p9licewoman went in after him. None of them got out. Not even the dog. There is a memorial to them to this day. In fact I saw it over the weekend.
Not water trained. I think the cops meant to say not potty trained. Crazy because cops in the US would jump at the opportunity to save someone’s life because of the massive hero complex they have. Great story man.

15:56 “Not been ‘water trained’” reminds me of when PCSOs first appeared on the scene, a little boy drowned in a pond that was about 4” deep, watched on by two PCSOs who did not lift a finger to help because, they said, they hadn’t received “training”.😩🤷♂️. It may have been in Liverpool, I can’t remember, it was quite a long time back. It fed into the debate on just how effective these new recruits actually were. Come to think about it, it could well have been in the time period you are talking about here.🤔

While I'm not familiar with UK law any reasonable country has laws that when you're trying to help you can't be held liable for things you do wrong unless it's gross incompetence like you pretty much actively would need to try to do harm. You're just completely unfit to be a police officer if you'd watch a kid drown because there's like a small chance you'd get sued and a 0% chance you'd actually be found at fault. The more I hear about life in Britain the more baffled I am. Being from Germany I thought Britain is fairly similar to us but they seem to have fully gone down the gutter.

This law (SARHA) is designed to protect people from legal action, for performing heroic acts that go wrong. On the opposite side, it is also not illegal, to do nothing (there are few execeptions).

In some very precarious situations I’ve found flatulence to be the best non lethal weapon. My mother in law taught me everything I know in that regard. Her ass was an absolute bazooka in the presence of danger.

I think it’s important to tell people what’s going on. I am a retired ED/ICU registered nurse and when I tell people something of the shit I had to deal with in the past they don’t get it. If you say anything that mentions certain demographics you’re a racist or another “ist” or “obe” but I don’t care as I dealt with that violent behaviour whilst having to try and treat patients. People wonder why there’s a shortage of people in some professions.
I was accused of being 'ist' and was even called into disciplinary (security at uni graduation). I was given instructions of who was permitted entry with vehicles (for obvious reasons). The passenger of one car I refused immediately called me a R'ist and would not stop, creating a huge scene, and it broke my character. I ended up laughing and couldnt take what was happening serious. Little did anyone know, I had been covertly audio recording for 3 days, and this I started doing within the first 2hrs on day one, after a collegue was being extremely racist, and when I confronted him, he failed to stop. I escalated it, and my management didnt believe me. I genuinely feared that at any moment, I would be associated with him as an ally and it could all go south. Many international students and their families were around. Before I know it, end of day 3, I'm called in with many ppl claiming security being R'ist. Me being the youngest, all the management assumed it were me, even though I made the complaint myself days before about the racism. It got to a point before being called into office, that me and the colleague went nose to nose, in the city centre (where the graduation was held), where again, I fell out of character and burst into laughter, because I had this 60 yr old thinking he was going to put me on my rear. Anyways, I produce the recordings and all it did was save my job. He kept is job, as apparently management are clueless on laws, employment or otherwise. Tried accusing me of illegally recording. Again, I laugh, and point out their incompetence. So yeah, its most jobs now. If no one in senior positions are willing to back you, then no one new is going to come along and stay.
one tiny point for murica: if a judge told a jury to infer guilt because someone stayed quiet in interrogations, i'm pretty sure that case would be thrown out on appeal.
That's a good point, Americans sometimes forget other places aren't America, and don't necessarily have an exact equivalent to the First Amendment or the Right to Remain Silent. I don't know enough about the UK to comment on them specifically though.

I didnt understand that either! Maybe they weren't rope trained! I have also witnessed Police failing to gather vital evidence which was being destroyed because it involved them ascending a ladder. They had to call a "ladder team" who bought their own ladder with them. It was almost Benny Hill like in ridiculousness. If I were a career criminal I would learn all the things they arent allowed to do and structure my activities accordingly. Maybe dealing drugs off the second floor of a small boat is a viable career choice these days...
I’ve been a door man and I’ve been a police officer and you are right; it’s one thing having access to CS Gas (which I never used by the way) and a baton (which I only used once) and back up at the end of a radio. And it’s quite another thing to just have you, and potentially some colleagues to assist you. I still respect the police, although I have no confidence in them these days. And I hate how many of them conduct their job with regards to door men. Especially as I’ve been on both sides of the fence. I’ve also got tons of experience in the military and other aspects of Security from static guarding to hostile environment close protection, so I’m not a one trick pony but I agree with everything you said in this video.
Thanks for the comment. I am pro a competent and strong Police force. Unfortunately we are now far away from that. The force has slowly declined as senior figures look to virtue signal and panda to trendy politics. The cause of much of the current Police brutality we see is because the Officers are ill suited to the job at hand. All the staunch, decent guys left for the private sector. It is a huge concern. Private security has gone much the same way. Jacket fillers and folk wholly unsuitable for dealing with difficult confrontational situations.
To serve and protect! Serve their bosses Protect their pensions The drowning lady story just goes to illustrate that in spades. They didn’t come to help, they came to write a report. They one clown that jumped in became a liability himself and was probably reprimanded by some Karen sergeant back at the HQ. In reality their motto needs to read “To Subject and Observe”
Nice to listen to you. I have no problem with the police. The ones who come to pick you up can be a bit prickish, but they are only protecting themselves. I am usually quite drunk and unpredictable, as one of them said in his statement. Ha, trying to cuff me. "Stop resisting!" "I'm not." I was just standing with my elbows locked so they couldn't bend my arms. "Stop resisting!" "Oh come on guys, there are two of you." 😅 But everyone at the station are all really nice and understanding. ✌

You can gain an adverse inference from remaining silent in the UK? That's crazy! Basically anywhere else everyone always tells you to never answer questions, always remain silent and only ever have your lawyer make staments on your behalf. Police never want to find out the truth they want to have as many convictions as they can get so doing an interview never works out in your favour if you're accused of a crime.
The Court could draw an adverse inference if a suspect is being questioned by the police and the suspect does not mention a fact which he relies upon in his defence (because the suspect exercised their right to silence) and it was in the circumstances existing at the time reasonable for the suspect to have mentioned the fact when questioned. An example of this would be a person being interviewed for dangerous driving, that person provides a ‘no comment’ interview and at trial raises a defence of mistaken identity. The Court is less likely to believe the defence, as such a crucial point would have been within the knowledge of the suspect during the interview, and therefore the defence should have been place on record at the police interview.

That’s a crazy story that everyone got super lucky they had scuba Steve at the ready! “Adam Sandler movie ,big daddy reference “ we have a town down here in south jersey shore named WildWood Nj. Aka ChildWood or Camden on the waterfront. Camden is a small city in Nj that was the US most dangerous city many years running till hurricane Katrina happened in New Orleans took the record. It got so bad in Wildwood in the mid 90s. They had to have the National Guard along with the state police come down on memorial weekend to help with all the people that came down from Philadelphia, New York City n North Jersey. It was the only shore town that u could walk around under the drinking age and still drink without the cops arresting you. So it was popular with the under 21 crowd
@@thatgearguy one thing I always wondered is whatever era was crazier and more violent between the 70s and 80s , The 90s and early 2000s or the mid 2000s and now . Because the 70s and early 80s was a lot more free as far as they’re not being cameras gun laws weren’t as strict but the 90’s n 2000s with the crack error and street gangs becoming so popular violence seem to be normalized. Now Everything seems to be out of hand and people don’t even think or care about the consequences on a level never seen before. With it being hard to take into consideration, just reported crime with so many crimes going unreported. I always guess overall now is worse than ever. What would you say if you had to take a guess?
Regarding the police situation, I think it is useful to better understand what their task is: When they interview you, it is not only about whether you convince them that what you did was right. What they need to do is write it down in a way that convinces somebody els, who has not met you, that what you did was right. This other person is the prosecutor. The police can not close the case, even if you have fully convinced them. Which is good, because it means they can not be corrupted or somehow forced to let you go. That would just be obviously wrong for anybody to see. So they need to write it down to convince the prosecutor. And because you have already convinced them, they know they need to write it down convincingly, because if they do not totally convince him, if he had any doubt, it would need to go to court. And the police already know that would literally waste the time of the court, and your time. (You would not have any problem to convince the court, because you would literally only need to explain the points that the police did not write down in a convincing way.) The prosecutor gets the report, and can not discuss it with you if he is unsure - that is just not his job. In this example, it was probably obvious for the police that it was self defense after you said why you made the step forward. But the prosecutor does not speak to you, does not know your personality and does not see your body language. He only sees the step forward on the video. So I think the police actually did a good job and was full on your side. But annoyed you, because they needed to understand it well enough to write it down in a 100% convincing report. (Yeah, it would help if they would actually explain that.) The letter you got much later was from the prosecutor, when he had time to work on the report. It was not urgent, because the police would probably indicate in some informal way that it is a case that they think should be closed - and so it is less urgent than any other kind of case. Note that they do the annoying part, still asking when you thing you must have convinced them, and you actually have, just as much in your interest an in the interest of the court. And I think it is actually hard to write an absolutely convincing report. Very convincing is not enough - it must be 100% for the prosecutor to close it.

Odd in the USA in my community the police work as doormen at nights and the departments have a working relationship with bouncers to combat crime even sharing info and training like a symbiotic relationship. UK seems a bit more woke police.

I think it’s important to tell people what’s going on. I am a retired ED/ICU registered nurse and when I tell people something of the shit I had to deal with in the past they don’t get it. If you say anything that mentions certain demographics you’re a racist or another “ist” or “obe” but I don’t care as I dealt with that violent behaviour whilst having to try and treat patients. People wonder why there’s a shortage of people in some professions.
I was accused of being 'ist' and was even called into disciplinary (security at uni graduation). I was given instructions of who was permitted entry with vehicles (for obvious reasons). The passenger of one car I refused immediately called me a R'ist and would not stop, creating a huge scene, and it broke my character.
I ended up laughing and couldnt take what was happening serious.
Little did anyone know, I had been covertly audio recording for 3 days, and this I started doing within the first 2hrs on day one, after a collegue was being extremely racist, and when I confronted him, he failed to stop. I escalated it, and my management didnt believe me. I genuinely feared that at any moment, I would be associated with him as an ally and it could all go south. Many international students and their families were around.
Before I know it, end of day 3, I'm called in with many ppl claiming security being R'ist. Me being the youngest, all the management assumed it were me, even though I made the complaint myself days before about the racism. It got to a point before being called into office, that me and the colleague went nose to nose, in the city centre (where the graduation was held), where again, I fell out of character and burst into laughter, because I had this 60 yr old thinking he was going to put me on my rear.
Anyways, I produce the recordings and all it did was save my job. He kept is job, as apparently management are clueless on laws, employment or otherwise. Tried accusing me of illegally recording. Again, I laugh, and point out their incompetence.
So yeah, its most jobs now. If no one in senior positions are willing to back you, then no one new is going to come along and stay.
one tiny point for murica: if a judge told a jury to infer guilt because someone stayed quiet in interrogations, i'm pretty sure that case would be thrown out on appeal.
That's a good point, Americans sometimes forget other places aren't America, and don't necessarily have an exact equivalent to the First Amendment or the Right to Remain Silent. I don't know enough about the UK to comment on them specifically though.

I didnt understand that either! Maybe they weren't rope trained! I have also witnessed Police failing to gather vital evidence which was being destroyed because it involved them ascending a ladder. They had to call a "ladder team" who bought their own ladder with them. It was almost Benny Hill like in ridiculousness. If I were a career criminal I would learn all the things they arent allowed to do and structure my activities accordingly. Maybe dealing drugs off the second floor of a small boat is a viable career choice these days...
I’ve been a door man and I’ve been a police officer and you are right; it’s one thing having access to CS Gas (which I never used by the way) and a baton (which I only used once) and back up at the end of a radio. And it’s quite another thing to just have you, and potentially some colleagues to assist you. I still respect the police, although I have no confidence in them these days. And I hate how many of them conduct their job with regards to door men. Especially as I’ve been on both sides of the fence. I’ve also got tons of experience in the military and other aspects of Security from static guarding to hostile environment close protection, so I’m not a one trick pony but I agree with everything you said in this video.
Thanks for the comment. I am pro a competent and strong Police force. Unfortunately we are now far away from that. The force has slowly declined as senior figures look to virtue signal and panda to trendy politics. The cause of much of the current Police brutality we see is because the Officers are ill suited to the job at hand. All the staunch, decent guys left for the private sector. It is a huge concern. Private security has gone much the same way. Jacket fillers and folk wholly unsuitable for dealing with difficult confrontational situations.

The drowning lady story just goes to illustrate that in spades. They didn’t come to help, they came to write a report. They one clown that jumped in became a liability himself and was probably reprimanded by some Karen sergeant back at the HQ.

I have no problem with the police. The ones who come to pick you up can be a bit prickish, but they are only protecting themselves. I am usually quite drunk and unpredictable, as one of them said in his statement.

You can gain an adverse inference from remaining silent in the UK? That's crazy! Basically anywhere else everyone always tells you to never answer questions, always remain silent and only ever have your lawyer make staments on your behalf.
Police never want to find out the truth they want to have as many convictions as they can get so doing an interview never works out in your favour if you're accused of a crime.
The Court could draw an adverse inference if a suspect is being questioned by the police and the suspect does not mention a fact which he relies upon in his defence (because the suspect exercised their right to silence) and it was in the circumstances existing at the time reasonable for the suspect to have mentioned the fact when questioned.
An example of this would be a person being interviewed for dangerous driving, that person provides a ‘no comment’ interview and at trial raises a defence of mistaken identity. The Court is less likely to believe the defence, as such a crucial point would have been within the knowledge of the suspect during the interview, and therefore the defence should have been place on record at the police interview.

And the really disgusting part is sometimes when citizens get sick of it and decide to do the cop's job themselves, then THEY get arrested. That’s a crazy story that everyone got super lucky they had scuba Steve at the ready! “Adam Sandler movie ,big daddy reference “ we have a town down here in south jersey shore named WildWood Nj. Aka ChildWood or Camden on the waterfront. Camden is a small city in Nj that was the US most dangerous city many years running till hurricane Katrina happened in New Orleans took the record. It got so bad in Wildwood in the mid 90s. They had to have the National Guard along with the state police come down on memorial weekend to help with all the people that came down from Philadelphia, New York City n North Jersey. It was the only shore town that u could walk around under the drinking age and still drink without the cops arresting you. So it was popular with the under 21 crowd

@@thatgearguy one thing I always wondered is whatever era was crazier and more violent between the 70s and 80s , The 90s and early 2000s or the mid 2000s and now . Because the 70s and early 80s was a lot more free as far as they’re not being cameras gun laws weren’t as strict but the 90’s n 2000s with the crack error and street gangs becoming so popular violence seem to be normalized. Now Everything seems to be out of hand and people don’t even think or care about the consequences on a level never seen before. With it being hard to take into consideration, just reported crime with so many crimes going unreported. I always guess overall now is worse than ever. What would you say if you had to take a guess?

Hmm not sure as I moved away. He was a pretty tough dude, kinda like a strict Dad type. He beat me up a few times in sparring sessions!
Rant at the end was spot on.
Regarding the police situation, I think it is useful to better understand what their task is:
When they interview you, it is not only about whether you convince them that what you did was right. What they need to do is write it down in a way that convinces somebody els, who has not met you, that what you did was right.
This other person is the prosecutor. The police can not close the case, even if you have fully convinced them. Which is good, because it means they can not be corrupted or somehow forced to let you go. That would just be obviously wrong for anybody to see.
So they need to write it down to convince the prosecutor. And because you have already convinced them, they know they need to write it down convincingly, because if they do not totally convince him, if he had any doubt, it would need to go to court. And the police already know that would literally waste the time of the court, and your time. (You would not have any problem to convince the court, because you would literally only need to explain the points that the police did not write down in a convincing way.) The prosecutor gets the report, and can not discuss it with you if he is unsure - that is just not his job.
In this example, it was probably obvious for the police that it was self defense after you said why you made the step forward. But the prosecutor does not speak to you, does not know your personality and does not see your body language. He only sees the step forward on the video.
So I think the police actually did a good job and was full on your side. But annoyed you, because they needed to understand it well enough to write it down in a 100% convincing report. (Yeah, it would help if they would actually explain that.)
The letter you got much later was from the prosecutor, when he had time to work on the report. It was not urgent, because the police would probably indicate in some informal way that it is a case that they think should be closed - and so it is less urgent than any other kind of case.
Note that they do the annoying part, still asking when you thing you must have convinced them, and you actually have, just as much in your interest an in the interest of the court. And I think it is actually hard to write an absolutely convincing report. Very convincing is not enough - it must be 100% for the prosecutor to close it.
Believe me the Police were never on my side. It would be nice to think they were.

Odd in the USA in my community the police work as doormen at nights and the departments have a working relationship with bouncers to combat crime even sharing info and training like a symbiotic relationship. UK seems a bit more woke police.

It’s recommended to not be interviewed by police without a lawyer because police can use anything you say against you even if you are innocent. That prewritten statement trick is an interesting workaround hahah
