Dave instantly checking that the sparkler wasn't too hot for the shelving above it - with that sort of awareness, he is someone I'd want on my team.
Happy birthday, Dave. đđđ
Welcome back Hanni! Happy birthday Dave đđ
Happy Birthday to Dave.đ
I like Dave, a humble, hard working man and just gets on with it đ
Poor Dave is painfully shy! That was nice to wish him a happy birthday anyway! Itâs exciting to see the hustle and bustle around the chateau enforce patron day!đ
Marie is magnificent on the guest dinnersâ€
Happy Birthday to Dave! Wonderful to see so many familiar faces at LaLande. Looking forward to Patron days. đđšđŠâ€ïž
Can't wait to see Amaury and Dan reunited at Dan's chateau! Such great heartfelt bro's, Amaury must so admire the engineering and carpentry Dan and Nic and Cat are accomplishing!
Poor Dave thinking , ' Oh damn another plate to wash !' đđHappy Birthday Dave đ
đ
Marie's flowers and food are always an artistic expression -- well done, Marie!
As that is true; tonightâs floral arrangements are by PavlĂna.
Hope Marie publishes a book too!
I think Hanni needs reminding she should wear a seat belt in the car!
Think her food is but not her flower arrangements
Sometimes I get tired just watching you keeping up with your schedule! An inspiration!
I loved this episode as ever.. as usual.. But every so often when walking around with you Stephanie I have memories of how it all was in the beginning... It truly is amazing how much has happened at La Lande, she has gone from pauper to Princess. Its wonderful.. I remember mummy struggling with the walled garden until Dan finally arrived... So much has changed now . Its wonderful.
Happy birthday Dave! The gardens are looking so beautiful!
Pavlina is incredible and beautiful, gardening in a white dress. What elegance.
Best thing Pavlina did was getting her hair cut into chic short bob style - it took years off her and made her look like a model. Well done Pavlina. I wish Natti would do the same, she has such beautiful hair and also used to have a fab chic bob style but the current long style makes her look so old fashioned and much much older than she is. Maybe Pavlina can persuade her.
Happy birthday Dave!!! Hope it was a great one!
Marie's plating is more creative by the day. And Hanni is always such a delightful surprise.
Food always looking so creative, beautiful and appetising these days - well done Marie but the portions are really so small. Hopefully a large cheese board is offered with the coffee course.
@@JuSutton The portions are similar to what you'd expect at fine dining establishments and they always get starters and of course desert. But if you're from the states as I am, then yes, the portions look small to what we are used to. But then, the French don't have the obesity rate we have either :)
Happy birthday Dave

The Chateau and the gardens are really shaping up. Can you show a layout of the Chateau . I would really like to see the main entrance what the guests see when they first walk in the door. And happy birthday, Dave.
The building having been added to over time and being for recreational purposes doesn't really have a formal entrance. The doors onto the courtyard are the access points.
A few years ago, Steph did several Chateau tour videos which are well worth watching. Some things have changed since, but you get a better sense of the layout.
Happy birthday Dave! Itâs so good to see Hanni back !
My goodness you donât have a moment of rest itâs pretty full on. Glad to see Gerry back and a nice packed Chateau
Lovely to see Hanni back
Happy Birthday Dave.
So good that you got Gerry back. The garden looks amazing!
Great to see everyone, Hanni looks great, Tatinette looks great, Gerry looks great, it reminds me of everyone at the Chateau during lockdown. Lovely to see everyone. Best of luck with the workshops. â€â€
Happy Birthday Dave, wonderful to see everyone frequently return to Lalande!.
Marie's plates are gorgeous! Stephanie, you have a heavenly life I'm so happy when I watch all of you kids.........and the animals too!
Happy Birthday Dave!!!!!!
Stephanie you never seem to stop, your mind must be buzzing, but the smile pops back the minute you enter a room. Well done ,sometimes it canât be easy lol đ€
So good to see Hanni back. She has been missed.
I have missed Hanni she is always such great fun.
So glad Hanni is back ..
Oh yay!!! I enjoy her so much
Yay, Hanni is back. đđđ we have missed you so much. One of many things I love about lalande is that you never know when someone special shows up. Glad you're back Hanni.đ
FYI: Yellow flowers in PNW (USA states) are called St John's Wort. A cautious word of warning, they spread like crazy without watering or weeding. So mowing them down along the edges this summer won't actually do too much harm. Planting them anywhere will fill in any unwanted open spaces. Appreciate the variety of plants and flowers in your gardens, well done!
I second that. Terribly invasive and will take over the area.
â@@stevenguybilodeau It maybe depends on the climate. I have one that remains fairly compact despite having it for a long time.
You may be thinking of Hypericum perforatum, a highly useful medicinal plant. Plants grow where we need them. The one in Stephanie's garden is Hypericum calycinum.
Everyone is lovable, especially Lancelot. â€
Good to see Hanni, and Marieâs creations food wise and flowers are amazing!
I thought to myself how much has changed since the first episode. So I went back and watched it. Serious sewing going on and suddenly Gerry walks in with the broken toilet seat đ âUh oh!! We have a problem!!â đ
đđŠđđ„đŸđđŠđ
Happy Birthday, Dave!
đđŠđđ„đŸđđŠđ
Welcome back, Hanni and Gerry!â€
Marie, I dream of someday sharing one of your meals. Everything looked perfectly delicious.
Philip, the table was so pretty. I love grandma's Rosenthal stemware. B.T.W. Which porcelain pattern did you use during dinner?
Pavlina, you have earned massive respect and admiration for your endless labor in the gardens.đ You are nothing short of amazing.
Steve and Chantel, Stephanie couldn't ask for a better aunt and uncle.
Good luck Lalanders during Patron days!
†from TX!
Happy birthday Dave!đ
Happy Birthday Dave. The food looked great.
Hi Hanni! Looking good!
Happy Birthday Dave!!
I really enjoy all the busyness of your lives đ
The walled garden is amazing, such a lot of hard work going into daily as well as the grounds!
Marieâs meal looks spectacular as are the flowers!
A thoroughly enjoyable vlog which I could go on watching for hours!!
Bon soir! đđ„đŸđ„°đ ââïžđ ââïž
Thatâs why the botanical names for plants are so useful and important. Each plant has only its own unique name.
Hypericum.
@@ra-wg8tb and yet, even that is not enough. Latin binomials are delightfully precise.
I know but I couldn't see the variety to define it exactly... Old age, and all that.
That dog is an example of happiness of what we all should be †He is just so darling
Lancelot was so happy to see you! Happy Birthday to Dave.đđ
If you put mulch on the weeded sections of the garden, it helps to keep the weeds at bay. Can be anyting from straw or grass clippings or anything to cover the bare dirt. It will certainly cut down the weeding and keep moisture in. Just a thought if you don't already do this. Love the vlogs!
It was all mulched when planted, but decomposes and probably needs topping up. There are quite a few gardeners around there now, I'd have thought it would have occurred to someone to do it đ€·ââïž
The gardens look beautiful! đčđŒđž
Happy Birthday, Dave. Love and long life!
Marie's creative genius comes out more and more as she grows more confident within herself. I think she is settling in and finding her place in the world. You can see it in the way she carries herself and in her mannerisms. Good on ya, Marie!
and she is getting the kitchen into really ship-shape order for food preparation. Love the dog gate very practical and hygienic - well done.
What fun,all the đ€ are back home.Such a beautiful place and people.
Tell Marie that her delicate feminine touch is evident is so special especially on the starter and dessert plates. You are so talented Marie.
So good to see Hanny back!! As always, itâs uplifting to see the beautiful table setting and dinner for the most amazing dinner experience for guests. Happy birthday to Dave too!
the yellow flowersđ the yellow flowers.đ the yellow flowers đwhen you drove up to the homestead.đ yes..well..just wanted you to know đ..i love your yellow flowers.đ Happy day xx
Wow the gardens and grounds are looking so wonderful. Well done Kirsty, Ombeline, Pavlina and the new guy. The Rose of Sharon is an incredibly hardy plant and will be fine. You have such amazing people helping and working at La Lande. Not forgetting to mention the lovely family and friends. Also how does Marie manage to not only produce beautiful food, but incredibly stunning and creative floral arrangements too! Such talent. A joyous vlog. Thank you. â€
Yay! It was so great to see Hannie again! It is really heart pleasing to see the chicks returning to the nest and noting the changes and the growth, and how wonderfully their essence remains the same. Cheers to you all!
Good work, Pavlina
Always clearing the garden
Happy Birthday Dave!!! đ„łđđ
And HANNI!!!!! đđ€đ„°
Wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves again!
I really miss seeing Nati and Amaury
I think Nati said they were making a short visit to Argentina but would be back soon. In the meantime Amoury's parents moved in to help out - presumably as meeter/greeters as much as anything.
and Molly

Iâm going to start keeping a scorecard of how many times we hear the story of the crashing shelves with the Rosenthal đ
I know right! Countless! Every time one of those glasses come out of hiding, & then some.
The Sally Field Oscar speech really cracked me up đ€Łđ€Ł
It is always such a blessing to watch your videos! Thank you, Steph, and you dream teamâ€
Marie's food is artwork
I love, love, love the birthday celebration!!! Philip's table is beautiful, as always.. love to allâ€â€â€â€

I was just thinking about Hanny , wondering when she would be back? Glad to see her!
Dave & Hani have the same humble energy. â€
Marieâs food is just beautiful. Nice to see Hanni again.
Stephanie, you look so pretty coming out of the garden. LaLande is looking beautiful! I am so happy I was able to visit in May. Fun to see Hanni again. The veggies are so pretty too!

Happy birthday Dave. Such an uplifting video - wonderful family and friends. Lovely to see Hanni back. With so little sleep and a hectic schedule you still manage to be so joyful and look beautiful - you are wonderful Stephanie. That dress is so pretty wish someone would video you so we can see all of it.â€ïž
Happy Birthday, Dave. It is so exciting to see everyone together again. The gardens are spectacular. Let the fun begin.
Phillip and Marie, you both make dinner service so beautiful. Thanks to those behind the scenes, also. â€
Lovely to see so many familiar faces!! Happy birthday Dave!
Everything is looking beautiful!
Love from Mary in Southern California đ
Stephanie looked beautiful in that dress, absolutely gorgeous:)
Great to see Hanni back! She's so much fun. All we need now is for Kat to visit. The garden pathways looks so peaceful, would love to stroll through there. Everyone does such a great job with what they do.
St John of wort has a distinct identifyier. The leave is small, and if you turn the leaf from the back, it has small little dark spots when light comes through it . The flower is small, and when infused in oil, it turns red. It has been used for medicinal purposes and still is. Bach is the company who still makes and sell it. It helps with sleep and low moods etc. Wonderful plant.
St Johnâs Wort = Hypericum = Millepertuis in French
@@mireille4751 indeed
Lancelot , đ Is just the best dog in the world! Heâs so friendly and so sweet and so lovingâ€
Welcome back Hanni & Gerry! I do miss Hanni & the bottles of Bollinger she would bring for Steph's bday party.
No room in the car for Bolly with a suitcase that size đ (unless it's filled with Bolly)
Your dress is so beautiful stephanie â€â€â€
Happy birthday to Dave, also so lovely to see Hanni back đđ
The garden looks amazing im so glad that garden near the step area finally got some work,
Happy Birthday Dave! All the best! Love Marie's plating and the flower arrangements! You do have the most crockery and glassware collection! Look forward to your vlogs every day!
Happy birthday, Dave! Good to see you being celebrated a little bit! Nice to see Hanni back! (Of course, Gerry, too!)
Do you never do weeding at all during the year or is it only once a year a job for your gardeners ? A garden is indeed a never ending job.
I guess their priority is the productive garden, as that supplies the kitchen and the front of the chateau; so when the weather is warm and wet and the weeds gallop faster than you can pull them, some areas get neglected, especially since Kirsty only does one day a week now.
Happy birthday đ„ł Dave
The gardens are beautiful, well done đ
Happy Birthday Davy.đ
Happy birthday Dave!đđ„So great to see our zany Hanni backđđđ
Happy Birthday Dave đđ
The blue flower are a Bush Clematis. Possibly âStand by Me' Bush Clematis
Quite possible
Mulching the beds (between all the flowers) with a bark mulch based product might help to keep the weeds down.
And for any pathways or areas between beds put down cardboard and then mulch on top. I mulch everywhere in my garden and it helps SO much.
â@@janefreda7034 They should have plenty of bark from the forest that Nick produced when clearing trees, I'd have thought.
It also helps a lot with keeping moisture in the soil during the hot months!
What a beautiful family you are. I will pray for you Luca. May God Gant you a long and fruitful life with those 2 gorgeous girls in your life
I couldn't see the smiley either times I watched itđâ€
Pretty sure the blue flowers are a variety of non-vining, bush clematis.
Seems Daveâs doesnât like the commercial tags left on plants, but like statues, some kind of labels do have a place in a garden.
You look absolutely beautiful and glowing Steph đ©·đ©·đ©·
Happy birthday Dave! Amazing cooking and flowers Marie! Beautiful table Phillip! Nice destruction of the corn cob Lancelot! Nice job at everything you do Stephanie! Nice to see everyone there.

Wow!! The gardens are looking so beautiful
This was my favourite dinner ! Bless you Marie and Philip! The food and setting was perfect! â€
Happy birthday Dave. Good to see all back home
I might have missed it, but I don't think anyone identified the blue flowers. They're a type of clematis, one that doesn't climb, but grows more like a perennial. They're beautiful.
I think it's clematis Stand By Me.
@@sandrj2341 It very well could be. It's in that vein, for sure.
You always show the beautiful tablescapes, flower arrangements, meal presentations, I wish you would show off your outfits when you are dressed up for the dinners!! If youâve treated yourself and updated your wardrobe with pretty new dresses, Iâm sure weâd all like to see and enjoy. Share the beauty, itâs uplifting!!!
