- Steven Wilson is a singer/songwriter, guitarist and producer extraordinaire. He's been a pivotal figure in progressive rock for over 35 years. He's also worked with some of the greatest musicians on Earth.
Nick Beggs has been playing alongside Steven for the last decade. The song My Book Of Regrets contains a perfect example of Nick's phenomenal groove and melodic bass playing. This bass line is without a doubt one of the 'coolest' bass grooves in prog rock history.

Nick Beggs is such a great bassist.
digging the new background, mark!
Really enjoyed this. A wonderful new challenging bass line to learn. I think it´s from the EP four and a half. Great advice for everybody to check out Steven Wilson and Nick Beggs.
More please, Luminol? Harmony Korine? Anything really. PT and Colin? Tesseract?
Great video and one that made me crazy to deep into and learn it!
Nice one 👍
Oh yeah!
If you’re going with Steven Wilson songs, “Halo” by Porcupine Tree in my opinion is a pretty bad-ass bass line… Merely a suggestion.
Yes it is. Have you seen my interview with Colin Edwin?
@@talkingbasslessonsYessss!!
@@talkingbasslessons Mark perhaps a future visit to Colin’s lines in “Halo” might be worth a look at 👍🏻
Kinda of Geddy Lee ish, awesome thanks!
Not surprised to hear Beggs is responsible for this
Luminol also played by Nick Beggs is easily the coolest song in modern prog rock.
Also still hate the new background.
I was tempted to do a video on Luminol today.
Would love to have a video on luminol! Also personal shopper and the solo part of routine. More great nick beggs.
Love luminol and the live version absolutely slays
@@talkingbasslessons Please give in to temptation
Keep working on that head wobble - Needs more head wobble for motion sickness.

Very similar to 21st Century Schizoid Man except for the time signature.
