Virtual Reality Training

The Florida Institute for Child Welfare is supporting the Florida Department of Children and Families as it modernizes its training. This innovative new educational tool implements research-backed methods that provide an immersive learning experience.
Virtual reality training is effective for child protective investigators, case managers, and licensing specialists because it’s a high-quality learning method that reflects realities and experiences in the field. The training includes a group debriefing designed to help participants make honest assessments about themselves that can build empathy, reduce bias and improve decision-making.
