      Hello dear,
First of all thanks for your comment.
If such case occur then the given frame will be an asymmetrical frame and for that we need to solve it differently.I will be adding a video on it so stay connected with "civil learning online".Do subscribe this channel.
      Thanks
      Have a nice day.

Sir, I need your help in clearing my doubts pls help me.. my doubts are:
    1) can we just learn one method of force method and just one method from displacement method and still can analysis any type of beams and frames while designing any type of building?
Also, when we design uniaxial or biaxial column then we need moment about xx axis and moment about yy axis so how come we will know what’s the moment about x and y axis for the design of uniaxial and biaxial columns by kani or any other methods?
PLEASE HELP ME SIR.. its sooooo confusing for me pls help me out I’ll always grateful to u.. pls reply as soon as possible sir

      Hello dear,
I got a bit late to reply you. As i was busy making new video. I am extremely sorry for keeping you waiting.
      And here are your answers,
      1. As both the method i.e. Force method and displacement method are used to analyse indeterminate structure. So you can use any of these method but remember that the structure or frame must be indeterminate. But when you are specifically asked to analyse by (.....) Method then in that case we need to use that appropriate method otherwise not. If not mentioned try using :
      A. Unit load metho (influence line diagram)
      B. Slope deflection method
      C. Moment distribution method or
      D. Kani's method
      2. Listen dear whenever we are designing column whether it is axially bending or not we do this as per the code IS 456 and a handbook i.e. SP 16. So do don't need to use kani's method to calculate moment on beam but we are provided with proper graph and formula in SP 16 handbook which are use to calculate moment.
Or, Remember one thing that RCC DESIGN AND STEEL DESIGN are different from STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS in following way:
Structure analysis: here we analysis the structure by calculating moment shear force etc.
While in design subjects we deign a structure i.e. its dimensions. Creating economically durable structure.

Civil learning online THANK YOU SO MUCH for your reply sir. I’m really grateful to you for replying me as you seem to be a very busy person yet replied me with full explanation.
But Sir, we are suggested that we should use force and displacement method when we have Ds > Dk or vise versa for easiness so I said that and also I know we design column as per SP 16, but my confusion arose when I started studying force and displacement method for indeterminate structures since I came to know there are bending moment acting on columns too as we can see while you did frame analysis by moment distribution method. So, my question is what to do with the bending moment we get on column from the analysis by MDM or any other method ? ( I know we calculate moment on column also by method (K/total K)*Me (where Me is unequal bending moment as you know) .And for these moments we get on columns or any moment we get on beam we provide reinforcement to tackle the moment but what about the moments we get on column while performing MDM or any other method? Shouldn’t we take it into consideration and provide reinforcement to tackle that bending moment apart from the moments we get in case of uniaxial and biaxial columns?
      2) When we analyze a frame of multi story building by MDM then should we just consider the members at joint from x and z direction or also from y direction since in reality one or two members are connected at a joint from y direction too
      3) how to analyze multi story frame ( sway and non sway) . I mean how will moment come on columns at first and other floors (how to calculate those moments) and also at intermediate columns? Can you please make a video on analysis of multi story frame ( at least G+2) by MDM or any other method in detail considering members at a joint from y direction?
      Pls answer sir
Also sir we used IS coefficient method to design beams directly but we use this method only if the difference between spans are not more than 15% so obviously when the difference between span is more than that we have to design by MDM or any other method for indeterminate structures.
Please clear the doubts and confusion I have asked in points

Whenever we analysis a frame of any storey we need to use cantilever method or portal method.
And when we find moment in MDM it is actually the moment along y- axis.
