I doubt the people who hated this movie knew what they were watching, because this is a masterpiece.

I met Eric Roberts (Nelly’s Dad in the film), he was massively disappointed. He said that so much ended on the cutting room floor. I can quote him as having said “I love Damian Chazelle, brilliant director. With _Babylon_ I can say that he shot a great movie, but he didn’t edit a great movie.”

I watched this film on the last day of 2022, and it ended up being my favorite theatrical experience that year. And yes, I saw Avatar.
Same. This was my priority movie to see in the theater and I'm so glad I did. 10/10. Best movie I have seen in a long time.
Same (few days before). I was about to see it a second time and they took it out of theatres. I was so pissed.

Best movie worth every penny I paid to watch it in the cinema.
This movie is amazing, can't get why it's hated but it's definitely for those who love cinema like me.
God the passion of this whole scene is just…👌
Some of the best representation of filmmaking, with all the good and bad things. Hundreds of souls giving their hearts, their blood, sweat and tears just for that one perfect shot... I don't know about the whole film, but the whole Silent Movie Shooting section of this movie is a masterpiece on its own.

It's not really a bad movie when you get past the opening scene.
I dont like elephant shit projectile vomitting in my movies. This had both. You can be a love letter to old school hollywood but with such grotesque imagery. I know they wanted to show the dark side too but you didn't need to have such gross content within it.
Apparently, box-office bombs aren't "shitty movies," they're "cinema."
