- Gilgal Rephaim (Wheel/Circle of the Giants) is known as Rujm el-Hiri in Arabic (translating to “stone heap of the wild cat"). It is an ancient megalithic monument consisting of concentric circles with a stone cairn covering a dolmen in the middle. It is located in the Golan Heights (part of Syria, occupied by Israel), 12 miles east of the coast of the Sea of Galilee, in the middle of a large plateau covered with hundreds of dolmens, earthworks and cairns. It dates to between 4500 BC and 2500 BC and is the legendary area of Bashan where the giant King Og was said to have ruled from. It is incredibly hard to get to, as it's in a military zone, and you need off-road vehicles to get there. To the north of it further ruins sit upon a serpent-shape hill which may have been deliberately terraformed like this in ancient times. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

The Hebrew word Rephaim has two distinct meanings: first, in poetic literature it refers to departed spirits whose dwelling place was Sheol. It is a figurative description of the dead, similar to our concept of a ghost. The second meaning of Rephaim is “a mighty people with tall stature who lived in Canaan.” The word doesn’t seem to be ethno-centric like “Jew” or “Egyptian” but is more of a descriptive term.
I find the first definition to be just as interesting as the idea of giants. Perhaps this was a city of he dead.

I think a LiDAR scan of that site would reveal gobs more of mystery. So many intriguing structures in the drone shots.
Perhaps the entrance that the giants used has been filled in with large stones. It is amazing that this area has had little archeological investigation.
Yes, thank you so much letting us live vicariously with you on your "quests" for the truth or at the least, raising the curiosity for opening the dialog of theories for these megalithic sites...I would love to check off at least one of these sites from my bucket list! When I google "Gilgal Rephaim" Wikipedia came up with "Rujm el-Hiri, "stone heap of the wild cat." I like to keep an open yet scientific mind. I abhor that so much knowledge, history, information is changed, lost and/or kept from us being able to research or at the least, speculate upon, the ancient astronaut myths/history. Keep up the good work, the subject matter is fascinating. I can't wait to learn more!
Makes me wonder what was there that deteriorated away over the years. I'd love to see some archeology and a virtual reconstruction of what science imagines was here at one time.

It looks like the circles in southern Africa Michael Tellinger speaks of that may have been related to gold refining.

Pattern = wheels seem to have large external water ways. Pyramids internal water ways. And both at some larger locations. But smaller remnants erode and or cover quicker.
From the air, it reminds me of the structures highlighted by Michael Tellinger in South Africa.

I strongly advise you to visit the beautiful burial ground of Pranu muttedu, Gori, in southeastern Sardinia, dating back to 3000 BC, where there are concentric circles very similar to the israeli ones. The israeli megalithic structure, as I assume you know, is located in upper Galilee, land formerly affected by the invasion of the sea people of the shardana/ancient sardinians. Good luck.

It might’ve had an additional purpose for storing food (chamber), gardening and keeping animals (exterior). It’s close enough to Egypt that it’d be more advanced were it an observatory during the dates you suspect.

It's likely the ancient historians concluded giants built the megaliths because the stones are so big in many sites, or perhaps it's a reference to their status. Perhaps they were held in high regard. It looks like the heart of a settlements. It doesn't look like burial grounds, but of course, many cultures buried their dead in their homes. It was a way of staking their claim to the habitation, and they probably took comfort from the presence of their lost loved ones.

Could this be related to the mound of stones in the book of Genesis built by Jacob's relatives and then named by Laban (Aramaic "Jegar Sahadutha") and Jacob (Hebrew "Galeed")? I think it was a kind of boundary marker for them in Gilead.
