Hi! Thanks for the video. I don't know why I missed this one when it came out long ago! I volunteer at the Mt Vernon archaeological lab and absolutely enjoy working with the artifacts and helping to identify and catalogue them. I also enjoy mudlarking and have some great ceramics as "training aids" from the Thames Foreshore in the UK. I hope there are more videos about your process and data analysis. stay well!

Thank you Megan. Thank you for an excellent video. You’ve got an incredibly important job. It’s so tedious. The labels on my collection haven’t advanced past ziplock bags and marker. I think I’ll begin cataloging this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration. Do a video on exactly what you do and how you do it. 80% of my collection consists of ceramics but there isn’t much identification information available to regular folks, so it remains in bags.

Geez my gramps an his brother were cabin boys to the captain on the first voyage. The starving time took his brother. Gramps grew up and married John Roulfs wife. Those two moved to new Hampshire had many kids. The Chandlers went on to dover fox crof maine then into Minnesota by ox drawen wagons over lake superior. Frugality is the family tradition.

Has this cataloguing helped to piece together pieces of say ceramics that were dug at different times and in seperate areas?
