Defendedwolf825 that's because most of those guys were on digging duty anyways. Rhey didnt have to worry about combat so they had no choice but to dig. The rest of the team is out fighting for the first bit .

Hey Karma, maybe next time you can make a defense that funnels the enemy into kill zones rather than blocking entrances.
On a macro level that's pretty much impossible to do, any enemy that's "funneling" into a area that's covered with fire will just call out that approach to their squad and then it's pretty much useless.
Tursi Hospital FOB makes it quite impossible to make your own entrances, and blocking entrances just makes the enemy dig it up, possibly whilst being covered and provide entrance. The funneling can be done by creating an X like approach, firebases from the top two points angled to 45* to avoid direct fire to provide fire down each leg of the X, with halfway hesco end points made of wire
Blocking entrances can be effective if the distance required for someone to cross to even reach the HESCO walls is enough to disband anyone before they even reach the perimeter, which was the case during this match. They had established the outward firing position well before any enemy squad even reached them, so they could afford to take the fortress style approach instead of setting up indirect fire lanes. In addition it's not like the walls were completely covered, they had slight gaps in them so maneuvering could take place. And in the event of a breach they would've obviously heard the digging and naded it before it got anywhere because they're right up on the defensive wall. It doesn't make it inherently wrong, it obviously worked for them, it's just a more traditional method of defense as opposed to a trap style. Not to say killzones weren't possible pre-modern combat, it's just less common.
Lots of people use the term Defilade but nobody seems to remember the other word "Enfilade" or in modern terminology; "flanking fire". Which is essentially a killzone.. you could reference WW1 trenches as defilade which would protect troops inside them but would occasionally have an emplacement at one end that could if needed fire long ways up the middle in the case of being overrun.. which is an enfilade position. more modern-ish you could look up the WW2 fortifications at Juno Beach on wikipedia there's this picture explaining visually upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Juno_Wounded_3.jpg - the top being taken after the D-Day invasion middle being recently and bottom showing its line of sight, straight down the axis of where the soldiers were trying to breach.. Anyway, I see where you were heading with your point but saying that killzones were less common pre-modern combat had to be corrected as infantry tactics haven't changed much over the past few centuries, I mean we adapt and upgrade obselete methods with newer ones that apply to modern weaponry but the basics remain the same.. Enfilade and Defilade are part of the basics. Don't take this the wrong way either, it's not about assuming what you did or didn't know it's more for other people that don't actually know.. Unfortunately lots of people use youtube comments as a means to educate themselves because there are a lot of dumb people on the internet and there always will be :)

I could also write a short novel why kids then are too young to participate in these kind of games, and should have a understanding for not exposing himself to this judgemental thing called "The internet" at such a young age, then I could also go on about how kids shouldn't play games of such a violent nature, nor should they perhaps involve themselves in a game that tries to mirror the tactical and stressful factor of combat. But instead Let's just make a sarcastic remark, I think we'll all be better of there, which Is why I in turn .. Did make a sarcastic remark.
Nice size FOB. But deffinitly have been involved in MUCH larger on insurgency game mode al brazer mansion. We had walls all the way around 4 high 3 thick that had pieces survive 20minutes of mortar fire. We defended the mansion for over 45 minutes to ultimatly win the game.
There are scattered screenshots around steam. Base was made in mid april.
Gave a thumbs up regardless because this shows off the building mechanics very well for Squad.
I love how the base is so big that even once they do start mortaring they can't manage to mortar the whole thing at once. xD

Had a fortress on hill on ome of the desert maps had like 5 hmgs overlooking whole map and had it so it was hard for snipers to shoot because we put cement horizontally even with the 50 call bunker so they couldnt snipe if the were below us fucking wrecked enemy team doesnt even count the lmgs we had set up and snipers as well which added 5+ more 400+m guns watching map.
Bigger isn't always better. Small and packed with detail and defences is where it's at.
Bigger is worth the effort if you have a team willing to sit on the defences and man the guns otherwise I agree, a more compact approach is how I'd do it too.. maybe even split the resources between 2 mini FOB's within LOS of each other now that HMG bunkers have optics (I know this was done in V10, but since V11 has the optics you can do it) the other FOB defences would be a force multiplier from range. I've done something similar on Gorodok but just with 2 HMG bunkers on either side of a treeline with the HABs behind the treeline and no fortifications. Bunkers angled to overlap firing arcs and you're set for 180 degrees as long as the guns were manned and stocked with ammo the other team couldn't get within 800m of us without taking heavy losses.. only 1 squad required for defence of both HABs. Since we built it we were happy to defend it lol and it only took 10min on each one.. I do like karma's superfob designs though, fortress building 101 lol..
Smaller places are easily suppressed and squads can get pinned.

How do you have, that always and good visible friendly nameplates? Reckognizing friendlies it is very confusing to me, in this game, just aiming a silhouette and see the nameplate 2-3 sec later.
people under estimate the power of razor wire. It's the only thing that hurts the enemy when they come in contact with it. You can shoot though it and it slows down the enemy making them easy to kill.

Have they ever considered adding tactical grenades? Flashbangs, concussions etc.? Or is it too OP?
Jordan Bianchi there is little tactical use for flash or concussion, when frags do the same but kills them as well, and smokes obstruct sight which is more tactically flexible than any other.
Indoors CQB doesn't occur really much that often in this game. People would still prefer nades and smokes since most of the combat is long range or at least outdoors.
Perhaps we need more maps focused on Urban killboxes then.. multi story breaches have been some of my favourite moments since Al Basrah appeared.. even the suburban house-to-house kinda stuff is just as fun on Narva though some of the buildings with no thoroughfare are annoying..(sprinting front door to back door then one house has no backdoor lol) I guess it's more of a personal preference since most weapons are ironsights or RDS firing at stuff over 200m bores me because i can't hit shit lol.. it's more suppression than anything which is totally fine as i'm usually a medic anyway but yeah I do favour the CQB scenarios over the open ground ones. Room clearing in this game can get super intense super quickly lol xD edit: spelling

flashbangs and such are more of a police thing. TerenceTheGreat basically sums it up. Flashbangs and the like are non-lethal way to disorient the enemy for a breech. The military don' need non-lethal means. Special Ops are an exception, but they aren't conventional military. Wouldn't mind seeing it in game but don't see the point.

I have every dlc released and kdc is the first game I have ever followed like this. I just wish there was more info on how many side quests there are and at what point in the main story you have to complete them by. And if new side quests unlock from progression in the main story or if you just have to find them. Because there have been a few side quests I wouldn’t even have known about if I hadn’t stumbled upon them.

Corey Allen bruh you gotta be more confident and believe in your self. It’s not that hard once you get the hang of it and learn all the mechanics in the game and how it works. Just like anything new you’ll have to learn it. It’s like a bike just keep peddling you’ll get it eventually. Never call your self “ to dumb “ never look at a challenge and tell your self you can’t. Being cocky is one thing but being confident is absolutely essential to everything you do in life.

You can't climb hesco walls, unless someone boosts you. But he build most of them behind the walls with the iron fencing, wich i don't think you can climb even when boosted (not sure).
