Great talk Mohnish..If you do not hear Warren/Charlie every 5 minutes on an average in Mohnish's talk,you have to double check whether it is actually Mohnish who is talking or it is someone else :)..
What he elucidated on starting at 1:01:20 was a real gem! I love his philosophy of constant improvement and evolving beyond the status quo of modern value investing.

i never really bought into the hype surrounding algo trading a few years ago until last year. seeing how effortlessly my portfolio has been scaling since the last quarter, actually about $310k in growth, even with the current turbulence, i do not know why more people are not adopting this approach. with concepts like DCA and rebalancing all automated, it could not have been better. been helluva ride so far!

@@donafrancis8609 there are applications running on the underlying zipline platform already. the trader I copy from uses one such. could be great for you. you just need to set up your trading accounts to be compatible with it

I really love this brilliant guy.
I have been investing in real estate for a while now and a lot of people talk about Cryptocurrency. Who else thinks this crypto trading is kinda easy but is way to nervous to start.
In a few months or no time people we definitely be kicking themselves regret for missing the opportunity to buy or invest in cryptocurrency.

You don't need any one to teach you on how to invest your coins. You can make research on your own and start doing it yourself
You suggested trading on your own without guidance from an expert or professional. Huh! Laugh you, because you will remain where you are or make a lot of losses that would blow your account and loose all your money this has been.
The LBO went through for Rain Industries because the underwaters were focused on the cash flows. It's almost along the lines of buying commercial property(ies). The lenders will always focus more on the CFs b/c they're always looking to generate a return on the borrowed funds from its depositors. If the loan has a high probability of success, the lender will do the deal.

Sunteck realty to be honest is a huge gamble, real estate companies in India have the tendency to capitulate overnight especially ones in Mumbai and Delhi. Might possibly beat mastercard but the risk profile of both companies is poles apart.

Thanks Mohnish for the great insights. Interesting to note that an informed investor like Guy Spier can also fall into the trap of not knowing the difference between great business & a great investment (though I respect his investment philosophy: chasing high ROIC businesses).

He would have earned higher dividends in 10 year bonds probably.
@@coconutjuice7777777 yield on cost is different. He paid 1 billion for the coke shares.. Not 21 billion they are worth now.
@@andreasrnning2339 Cost of an investment is irrelevant. What matters is opportunity cost. He would have made a lot more in bonds and then waiting for a better deal. He has literally said so himself.
@@coconutjuice7777777 I get your point, it would be more profitable but if he did that in 1988 he would probably had very little, but yes I get it 1999-2000 would be of course logical with 40 PE
@@andreasrnning2339 That's my only point. KO was one of the best investments of all time in 1988 most significantly because of the size of the position.
Love to see his bets with other investors. An update based on current pricing... Sunteck (Up 30%) VS Mastercard (Up 110%) with Guy Spier is currently ahead with 6 years left to go. Rain (Up 50% ) vs Motherson Sumi (Up 10%) with Mohnish currently ahead and 3 months left to go.
you can get materials to value stocks but if you want get how to value then you should be a followers(in pabrai's way Cloner)... and im yes...
