That same $170k house in 1997 is probably worth $400k today. Sounds like P knew them cats wouldn’t think about the future had he given them money upfront. He can work a low wage job if he wanted to and still be comfortable bc he doesn’t have to worry about living expenses. He can pass that $400k house down to his kids. P was making them cats wealthy, not rich.
I was wondering if that's what he meant that he stay in the same house if so he was thinking a Lil bit
But you fail to realize these guys made It millions and gave them 170 k in return. That’s flaw
@@kid5042 Not cap at all..... Back then if you didn't go at LEAST GOLD (500k sales) you didn't get a second album on No Limit.
Artist this did sale at least 500k on the label all got 2nd or multiple albums with the label. To name a few that did: Mia X, Mystikal, Magic (R.I.P.), Mr. Serv-On, and Fiend to name a few. I didn't include P, Silkk, or C purposely to show how deep they were in the late 90's.
There will never be another Master P that dude is a fckn Genius
The fact that hes still in the same house that's paid for speaks volume! No radio play, no gold/platinum plaque, it's A lot of major artist who can't say that to date! No Limit/T.R.U for life!.
Yeah man!!! P ain't took the crib back and basically chalked the bill.. p a real one... they just didn't understand the business and was BIG KICKING IT🤣😂🤣😂
P put them brother in good positions. No limit should have a longer run.
@@blacklegacyassets yeah I thought Romeo was gonna carry the torch but I guess since "P" kept saying ain't no money in music, he left it alone, hopefully if C-M get out he could relaunch T. R. U Records! At least.
If you got a house, PAID FOR, you WON.
not if you earned millions, didn't receive it but you have a house that's worth less than what you actually earned. Could have bought the house and more with your own money. Its an old trick in the industry. kind of like a pimp buying the hos some clothes with their own money.
prime suspects didn't earn millions lol if they got a house paid for he won
@Jarvis Jones you don't understand how publishing and other royalties get paid for over time and for how much time, even if my exact numbers are off, the price of the house is less than what those guys would have made had they received their royalties and bought the house themselves. Another thing to pay attention to, right in this video, didn't dude say he ended up owing back 260,000 or something like that? Do the math. If you ever do business, music or not, think hard and get some legal advice before you accept gifts from a person that is in charge of how you get paid. You may just be buying your own gift and still owe more. Good luck.
Let someone buy me a house and a car today. I'm going to make it do what it do. It's ok to chill a lil bit but just don't get too comfortable with chillin 💯☝️
My Uncle was the one that sold P a bunch of Camaros. He told me years ago when that happened. Said he didn't get a big co-mission because they were sold at wholesale. Hadn't thought anything about that until dude just mentioned it. True story.
The rap game in the sports game is pretty much slavery selling people and trading people
Master P the best executive in the music business period.
50 cent was better until the industry flipped on him. He had banks gettin a million BEFORE even recording the album lol

Master P for the win again. Dude turnt some street dudes into 6 figure guys in 1 month.
Send this Guy to Harvard to learn the music business and he'll still take the House, 97 Camaro, 5k and the trip to Astroworld in a heartbeat!
Moral of the story, don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Facts… that sounds like what they all did not knowing it was the brand no limitthat made them go gold and platinum 🤦🏾♂️
No bro, the moral of the story is when a man teach you how to fish feed yourself.
P was spoiling his artist and they got too comfortable. Once he stop spoiling him now comes the hate. So really No Limit split cuz P got tired of taking care of grown people and he felt like he wasn't being appreciated. Not alot of CEOS look out for their people. I respect what P did.
What’s crazy they still feel he owe them they too fucking old for this goofy shit
@@aldraysmith7923 that's how P and C fell out. C thought P was gon have his back and P did the opposite. I commend him for that.
P got all of his artists publishing, thats what really made him all his money. No Limit albums like Prime Suspects were going gold without anybody even knowin these dudes simply because they were signed to NL. P's publishing company got 100% of their publishing regardless if he wrote the songs or not. Every single release except Snoop shows published by Big P Publishing on the album credits.
So he took care and spoiled all his artist by taking advantage of people who know nothing about publishing? If a white CEO took all of a black man’s publishing we’d be calling him the devil so why would you applaud him for it?
P gave, but at the same time P got his back with interest. Don't ever believe someone that is going to take care of you for ever.
no limit had real gangstas that turned into rappers
Except Mystikal wasn't no gangsta just a dude who could rap og in New Orleans never respected dude streetwise
@@vante2129 I don't know what Ogs you talking about but one thing everybody in New Orleans knows is that Mystikal will and has whooped several different people asses. He will definitely throw them hands.

If your house was worth $170,000 back in 96’ then it had to be worth nearly $400,000. That’s good for someone who wasn’t a rapper.
Prime Suspects had one of the Hardest albums on No Limit. macs and choppers🔥
That turn me up ft snoop was fire to and that bih with mean green lol damn that bih bring back missing
Let me explain the game. Master P played the game and won.
Explained……… he played by the rules of the industry to stay alive and get money. P worked million$ record deal. He bought all the artist houses in their name and cars with spending cash. They didnt see the end game because they thinking bout flossing today. Yet (screwed) them out of back end publishing/writers credits, but that was the game. Tradeoff they would not be positioned to make that move without P.
What is the same story from everybody in the bricks? If I can change me scenery I can do better for myself. P did a dad move by spending their money on real estate first before giving them the that they gonna blow before it touch their pockets.
Thats why they tried to destroy p with richard pena then the taxes fraud all kinds of legal stuff. P took his hood out the hood on the slick. The debt they owed was him covering his tail with the powers that be.
Basically what he's saying is he appreciates the home. But in knowing the record has paid for itself, and has BEEN written off as losses thru taxes, he don't owe him $260k, the debt has been written off, the albums/work is still earning digitally and moreover, the Licensing Deals have earned that money hand over fist. But everything worked out very well over all.
Shout out to Master P buying Everyone a house paying it off cash 💪🏾❤️
Keep asking ppl about Kev Miller, he like the mystery piece of NL History
People laugh at Tony Yayo but he really has it figured out. Lot of these rappers weren’t doing nothing, just like this artist just stated. P n 50 gave a lot of street dudes turned rappers a lot of opportunity n money that no one else was more than likely gonna give them. So in these cases u really just gotta be grateful💯💪🏾P gave these streets dudes who didn’t even rap at first houses n cars paid for🤯🤯in their name!
He was making a long term investment he knew that tank brand alone was going to rake in record sales
So by stealing people’s publishing, taking their rights and hunting them down about a check is good now?
@@REALNOTPOPULARTV na he didn’t. He rolled the dice. He for sure had a vision and it paid off, but it could’ve went either way at the beginning
@@MrBlytheville right! Give P some credit damn! Could the man had maybe done some shit better? Of course! But them damn white execs was fucking artists over left and right no publishing no access and damn sure no house and cars fully paid off in their name
@@Zmoneeey P took street guys and made them rappers. Gave them homes they still have and a source of income they still can pull from. The man gave them the deeds to the houses and the titles to their cars. Those artists could’ve flopped and still had the house and car. P was even letting them walk away out their contracts with no attachments. That’s unheard of!

Dope interview alot of inside scoop that we never heard before an that's the type of content I'm sure us as viewers want to see an listen to especially from the second tier artist from no limit. But prime suspects was dope. They album is a classic an fire. One of the best albums from no limit. An he was the best out the group.
Hard to tell young mf'ers from the ghetto to spend their money wisely and save up and flip something. But hell, he got a nice house free, never have to pay rent or mortgage again. That's a dream come true there. It takes most people the better part of their lives to pay off a house before they can enjoy life without that house note coming around every month. Not too bad a deal. Plus life memories.
Facts they can say what they want but in the reality of life that’s not to bad of a deal what they got because they probably would’ve never obtained or accomplished that on their own in a whole lifetime facing the odds they faced from the ghetto!
as long as you have the right mentality..my ex wife got a free & clear home from me worth a quarter ticket..within a year she was doing a refi and put a mortgage on herself..because she had blown thru her liqud cash on frivoulous trips , shopping isht...& she was 40 ! old enough to know better you would think..& esp when you have someone like me in your ear saying you dont need to blow money like that & to invest instead .....some people you just cant help..guess who she is calling for help now? the same cat whose help she didnt appreciate in the beginning...the same cat who gave her the home..me lol..she is from the hood & Im from the burbs & tried to show her better that what she came up knowing but....just like this cat is expecting P to come thru

This guy wasn’t even thinking about rapping. Or any kind of enterprise. Master P. Did more then right by him.
For thouse who don't understand the business, No Limit was flooding the market with product, he was getting a million dollar advance from Priority records, per release, and he was trying to release as many albums per month, quality or not. So the label was financing future releases. Each album minimum advance based on 100,000 units purchased at $10 wholesale was one million dollars. So it was not Percy Miller being generous and looking out for the hood, it was Percy Miller looking for anyone he could profit off of. The majority of the talent on No Limit was trash, it was not about talent for Percy, just dollars, but eventually the public catches on, and your brand starts to fade, and eventually you are out of business. Beats By The Pound was the No Limit Sound, Master P, Mystical and a few others were the face or in some cases the talent. When he stopped paying them and other key executives behind the scene, it was a wrap.
.. it wasn't anyone he could profit off .. he's the boss .. all expenses paid out his pockets ... that's the game
P took care of them boys as men we can't expect someone to keep on taking care of us
