is there anyway i can connect a third servo??

The shield is not capable of supplying power to three servos. If you are using only servo motors, remove the shield and use the servos directly. Just supply 5v from external to the power pins of the motor and connect the control pins to the Arduino. That might be the safest way.

Can this motor shield running the 12 v dc motor? I would like to use single power source for arduino and 2 unit 12v dc motor, do you have any advise?

Technically, it is borderline safe. But the Arduino is rated for 12v max! If there is any kind of power fluctuations, your board will be fried for sure. You can either have separate power supplies or use a heavier and more reliable motor drivers. This one is outdated for heavy usage and it also over heats for bigger motors. It's only for beginners.

Will a 9V battery power both the arduino and the motor shield? While running 2 motors at a given time? (I'm planning to turn two off, and use the other two afterwards therefore total motor count 4)

    • @techtalkies1
      @techtalkies1  Před 4 měsíci

No. A 9v battery will drain really quickly in a circuit like that.

Could you share what power supply to reccomend? I am using a 9V battery and cant seem to get my stepper motor to run.

Is the shield's onboard LED turning on?
If not, make sure the battery is plugged in correctly and the power jumper is in the right place. And 9v batteries will usually drain pretty quickly if you power motors with it. I would recommend lithium batteries.

Nice, but is there a way to still have at least two available Arduino conectors for serial communication?

Hi There, Thanks a lot for the video. I want to use such a shield with a Arduino Mega. I want to connect 3 12V DC Motors. I want to controll the speed of every motor freely with a own potentiometer from stop to full speed, also I want to change the direction of each motor with a switch. Is that possible to realise?
When I use the Mega, are the left I/O s free to use for something else or do I expect for example timing problems. Sorry, if my questions should be clear. I'm more or less new to this kind of arduino stuff. Best greetings.

Did you get and exit status 1 error or the PWM error where it says that the scope is not defined. I'm new to this and I'm using the Arduino R4 WiFi with the L293D v1 motor shield like in the video. What can I do. I also read online that the v1 motor shield doesn't compile and only the v2 does. Is that true?
    Thank you!

Are you using the v1 shield?
It might need a different library import

@@techtalkies1yes I'm using the v1 shield. Could you paste the link to the library import that you mentioned or how do I get to it ?
      Thank you

      Try this old library.
      github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Motor-Shield-library
Ideally, you should get the latest v3 shield of possible. It's a good upgrade.
