      ✨Congratulations✨ on your new job, such an exciting time!
      And thank you so much for this comment. This is the exact reason why I started my channel - to try and help other archi students/grads going on their own journey to become architects. Best of luck for your part 1!!

    Hey Jenny! I am about to start my Part 1 ... looking at your videos I was wondering if you had some struggles with software? I am a bit nervous as covid student we had to self-teach ourselves, any tips for that? ( I just feel like I am not super pro in every software, I am scared I will do something stupid)

    • @JennyKendall
      @JennyKendall  Před rokem

      Hey Tasnia ☺️ thanks so much for watching - and good luck for your final term!!
      Don’t worry, lots of people are in this situation when they apply for jobs, employers know that and will train you in any software during your first few weeks!
      Top tips are to demonstrate in your portfolio/CV any skills which you do have and to be honest about your knowledge in the software. Having an attitude where you’re willing to learn is most important at this stage! Also lots of practices work differently, some still hand sketch and hand model, some do 2D cad drawings and others work in BIM. You can pick which companies to apply to to either match your strengths or to target a company which will teach you software.
      For more general advice on job hunting I have a video on top tips for the process - but otherwise hope this helped a little ans happy to answer any other questions! I know how confusing this time can be!

      Hey! The VR is done in Sketchup & SimLab Which works on both Mac & PC :)

    Hi! Did u do maths a level?

    • @JennyKendall
      @JennyKendall  Před rokem

      Hi Sara. Yes I did Maths A-Level.
      I also did art, physics and further maths.
      Are you looking at applying for an architecture degree course?

    • @saragolding9803
      @saragolding9803 Před rokem +1

      @@JennyKendall Yes, i'm currently in yr12 doing art, history and philosophy and im looking to apply to cambridge, edinburgh, UCL, nottingham, manchester (Cardiff?), which say on their websites that maths is not a requirement, but would you say its an unspoken rule?

    • @JennyKendall
      @JennyKendall  Před rokem

      @@saragolding9803 Best of luck for the applications! This is such an exciting time.
      One of the beauties of architecture is that people come from such varied course backgrounds. I think a good level of GCSE maths is beneficial (especially as the course gets slightly more scientific with the inclusion of sustainability). However, I don't think maths A-Level is a necessity, and in fact I'd say A-Level art, for me, was more helpful. You're subjects sound like a great combo!

      @@JennyKendall Thank you :) I got an A in maths but wouldn't feel confident taking it for A level!
