This feels like a highlight that the Titfield Thunderbolt made about how drivers were more interested in beating trains to the destination than just being as convenient as they were back then.

here's a trick I'm certain got used in the actual show. You can hide the fishing line, or dramatically reduce it's impact by filming some of the scenes backwards. (you pull the bus backwards, but by running the film in reverse, it moves forwards)
