My wife passed away from covid19 when my son was 9. She'd previously cut her wrist in front of him (on my birthday). Years later, I fell in love again. Her son was my son's age. She was struggling with addiction & her ex was a dealer. She went back to him, but her son kept in touch with me. I was waiting for her to wise up & it took 7 1/2 months. When she came back, her & her son moved in. My family met them, we went on vacation, to concerts, got engaged. She got pregnant. She left again 5 months pregnant. She left her son at my house (where he belonged). She allowed me to make a consensus decision with her on the family that would adopt our son. Calvin was born 2/15/24. His adoptive parents are incredible people. I'm raising Calvin's 2 half-brothers while his birth mother ignores the lot of us. I'm so sorry for all of your pain. I hope you get some peace from knowing that your story touched me & made me feel slightly less alone. Much love to you. Keep on keeping on. Left foot, right foot... 👣👣👣

I know whatcha ya mean. I’m in Philly and been pretty immersed in rap/hip-hop for over 40 years and not to many people know the Hilltop Hoods or any of the Australian rappers. I came across HTH in 2015 and kept looking for more rappers. Then I started looking up rappers all over the globe.
I don’t speak German but I dig Rhythm and Flouz (link below).
But back to your comment, I’m here originally to share this one with a newer friend who wasn’t a fan of rap but she is now. I know she’s going to love this one, 1955, Bliss & ESO’s “Moments”, Hunter’s “When we were Kids”, Pez and Illy’s “Where ya Been”.

My problem with german rap is that the ones that are able to live on their music choose from a variety of three topics : money, fame, bitches. Short Gangsta Rap. And then i look at australia and i see people who support rap that goes deeper than a fascination for capitalism, rap that actually moves me with a combination of lyrics and music.And those bands seem to have success. From this i draw two conclusions:
1. Australians want a certain level of intelligence in their music
2.I am jealous because i see our underground dogs, our diamonds in the rough struggeling to make a living of of their music - the ones who actually deserve to earn fame - whilst Rapper that still hide behind "yo mama" lines at the age of 34 earn millions with their songs.
I know that this is not only the case in germany. It's everywhere like that - probably at some extend even in australia. But germany takes it to the extreme.
