    Great video. For forgotten pallet you could probably plastic wrap your spare board and use that. I never forget insect repellent now and spray my hat with it.

    There are 3 things I consider necessary to add: a 6” roll Ace bandage. With this you can support a sprained joint. If broken, with sticks you can splint. #2, for more dire injury, a PLB is necessary. Cell phone won’t work in more removed locations. #3, I carry an aluminum splint roll. It’s light , strong when curved, and an Ace bandage holds it on. These things will help you get home safely. #4 Oh, and I always travel with heavy duty bear spray on my hip if I’m bringing snacks. A bear can smell as well as a dog. Mostly they will avoid you, but teenaged ones don’t always know better and can be quite hungry. It can deter a human if absolutely necessary. Prevention is worth so much more than a bit of weight and inconvenience. Happy painting.

    This was great! I’ve been hesitant to attempt hiking and doing some plein air painting because of the amount of stuff I’d have to bring, but being able to have everything explained visually is making it feel more doable.

    So helpful! I want to try plein air painting on one of the many hikes we go on - we are actually heading to Glacier National Park soon and I plan to paint there! What do you do with the leftover Gamsol/solvent when you have to leave your destination and fly back home?

    • @AnnaRoseBain
      @AnnaRoseBain  Před 10 měsíci

      Honestly I wish I had a better solution than I do, but I use so little solvent when I travel that there's usually not much left in my jar when I depart. I soak it up with paper towels and toss them, then wipe out the container as best I can.

      @@AnnaRoseBain Ah, thank you. I’ve been back and forth on whether I want to bring my oils even though nearly every other medium would be much easier to travel with due to drying time and less mess and probably less trouble with airport security… but oils just blend so beautifully and give me so much more time to work around the panel. I really wish there was a solution too - your paper towel and plastic wrap for brushes idea might have to do for this first try/trip. Thank you so much!!

    How do you get the plastic wrap off of your paints that are on the palette without making a very large mess?

    • @AnnaRoseBain
      @AnnaRoseBain  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Jan, I try to stay out of the wind or block the wind while I'm doing it, and I'm just very careful! Sometimes there's a mess... :-p

    Why do you use solvent, as opposed to just linseed (and other) oil(s)? czcams.com/video/O1Jnwn46CLw/video.html

    • @AnnaRoseBain
      @AnnaRoseBain  Před 5 měsíci

      When I'm cleaning my brush, I prefer to get it actually clean rather than more oily (as in with using other oils). The solvent does that for me, and it also thins the paint more effectively, in my opinion, making a very different texture than what you would get with an oil.

    • @captainnolan5062
      @captainnolan5062 Před 5 měsíci

      @@AnnaRoseBain Just as we don't use turpentine to clean our hair (on our head) when it gets oily, there is no need to use it when cleaning our brushes. Soap and water will do an excellent job. The Masters brush cleaner is excellent. See You're Wasting Your Time Cleaning Brushes // Non Toxic Oil Painting: czcams.com/video/2pxY3GsVuuA/video.html. Sorry for the misunderstanding; I do clean my brushes with soap and water when I'm done painting. I'm referring to rinsing my brushes in solvent when I'm in the middle of a painting.@@captainnolan5062

    Malerei anstatt Fotografie, der neue Trend der USA Bürger/ Malerin en, mal wieder was!!!. Die Bildchen sind nett, aber nicht mehr als nett, ebenso die Motivwahl,,,,!
    Die französischen Impresionisten malen auch Motive des Alltags...... Mal abwarten, was daraus wird.....
