loki season 2 is releasing in october and i DONT CARE ANYMORE, IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE I STARTED THIS AND IT ENDS HERE AND RIGHT NOW. also hi because i havent posted since like 8 months ago
I can admit that some parts are sloppy and inconsistent in style (you can tell it's been the coursework of a year) where I was too tired to revise but I'm just glad I got the main idea done :) I just wanted to contribute to this ship in the main way I can. The only thing I’m confused about is how this ship has a decent amount of reach but still can’t reach more than like 5 animatics. Recent ones at least idk.😭
This animatic is more driven by details/metaphors & symbolism than actual explainable plot. I kinda want people to figure out which ones they are for themselves so i'm not gonna point out every one, it was part of why I found this animatic fun for me. You can just see it as the series if Loki/Mobius were a couple - all the events are basically the same but their corny romance. Overall it's supposed to be a fun thing that reflects these characters and why I managed to grow fond of them in two years. I’m not sure whether to call this a tribute to the show tho. While I unfortunately did find an intense interest in the show for two years, the irony is that I never liked 75% of actual canon content and wish it was represented better by the team. I want to move on from it after Season 2 comes out because my expectations are incredibly low. I’m planning to make like 4 more short animatics for them (30 seconds or less) because I feel bad for how there are no people making any. Don’t know how long that will take but I’ll stick around until then
Notes on the details/metaphors/symbolism etc.:

SHREK:
(Listen. I used a song from it so I found it a bit funny if I snuck in a few references to it)

- The thumbnail/intro-end is literally the Shrek font without the ogre ears
- 1:13 references the scene in Shrek 1 where Shrek and Fiona are eating that rat in the sunset and accidentally touch hands
- 1:20-1:30 refs the Hallelujah scene in shrek 1 with all the match dissolves
- 1:37 and kinda 2:45 Loki doing prince charming's signature hair flip (bros just a copy/paste of tom hiddleston)
- 2:19-2:26 and obviously, the honeymoon scene in Shrek 2 - with this exact song - where Fiona and Shrek get their wedding rings. Fiona’s burns in an "i love you" -- HINT: remember what loki says a dagger symbolizes in ep 3
- Mute and play I’m a Believer on another tab at exactly 2:27 = Shrek and Fiona's kiss at the end of the first movie

(I wanted to put a twist on some of the show’s symbolism because it's what the animatic was made from anyway, even though it’s definitely still not my favorite. That's what repurposing is for ig!!!)
- Mobius watching Loki's DB Cooper tape in the time theater during the dramatic Missing each other sequence 1:26
- 2:03 Loki fully giving the blanket to Mobius in the Void - contrast/similar to the scene where he shared the blanket with Sylvie in the show, except he just gives ALL of it to Mobius - Frost Giants likely don’t even get cold. So why not just give it to ur human crush w/o second thought because yk they need it more than you. totally not Romantic at all
- 2:46 - 2:52 Loki's whole running sequence at the end is a direct reference to him running to look for Mobius in the memory wiped/alternate whatever TVA in the s1 finale, except this time they actually remember each other because they deserve their never-ever-ender of all disgustingly sweet fairy tale happily ever afters. OKAY
^ there's much more (a bit more obvious but still under the nose if you’re willing to do rewatches) in the animatic, i just wanna see if ppl can point them out so I can acc talk ab them 😀👍, who knows maybe I’ll add them in here later ***if there’s still space 💀

HAHAH thank you !! :’)) And yeah, Loki was probably the character I had the most fun trying out expressions on. I’ve always admired how expressive his character was and wanted to try and implement that into here.

it’s rlly ironic/funny how I ended up loving season 2 sm that its still grounding me to these characters 😭😭 (it’s probably one of my favourite sequels that I’ve seen in a while) compared to my conflicting feelings when we had s1 lmao -- and yeahh I do have another animatic for them in the works, and too many ideas just not much time to do all of them dhdkdksjjd
The way we thought they were going to focus in chasing Sylvie but instead they gave us so many cute scenes of these two, and moments choosing and pining into each other's. And that ENDING tragic as it can be, but it feels like a romantic tragedy.
And not gonna lie I've seen this animatic like 18 times since I found it, and I LOVE the last frame was soooo accurate once Loki found the right Mobius. The way they ran into each other.
We definitely were stolen from a kiss like the one you put here, and they deserved in this season, it was THEIR season.
But I really, REALLY hope is not the end of the story.
And the next reunion gets me in tears, and that they finally get to be together, creating a better world TOGETHER.

@@arelisanchez7821 yeahh it was a better ending than I expected - im glad they didn’t act as if mobius would be all smiles after loki left, and showed his leave RLLY DID have that impact on him. the finale to me feels rlly open for these twos story - so hopefully there’s room for more of ‘em in future projects, even if it’s not thru third season 😭

to me it felt as if the ending was a bit open/unresolved for some of the characters/their arcs?? - like ravonna in the void, but also Loki and Mobius’ dynamic?? i find it interesting how the last few shots end on them without each other - Mobius just alone on the sacred timeline as he decides to just “pass the time” without Loki there (inferring from his convo with Sylvie) + Loki “I don’t wanna be alone” Laufeyson just listening in and watching Mobius from afar while he’s alone monitoring the timelines. and the fact it’s Mobius he’s listening to specifically BRO :’(( -- I feel there’s probably potential in them reuniting, yet I have no idea thru what means 💀
but YEAH I JUST feel like there’s more to expand w/ this story even if it’s not thru a third season BDKDKEKD

good question, kinda hard to answer 😭
I usually base my animatics not on frame rate but on sound cues and timing - as most of them are to pre-existing songs/audios, I work from that to create a rlly basic script then BOOM >> the rest is just me trying to convey the story I had in mind 😭😭 ig most of the stuff I make is more storyboarding than anything rather than fully animating :’)), so it’s why I don’t consider fps too much
