Denzel is by far one of my favorite actors. Man on Fire is still by far one of my favorite roles he played. "I wish you had more time" scene kills me
Denzel is a goat
Totally agree, Man on Fire was just kick ass and what every parent wants to be able to do to anyone who touches their kids.
You're the president? THE president??
100%
@@Topgunphoto being a parent, I agree full heartedly.
The Equalizer technically came out WAY earlier than John Wick. This movie is based on a television series from the 1980s. Denzel is perfect for this role which is very different from John Wick.
Was gonna say that lol
Yup, it was actually a high rated show for CBS I believe.
Dammit, I was gonna say that
Waaaaaaaaay! I watched it as a kid.
Denzel is a beast of an actor … a generational talent …
his son as well
@@nathan-ls8yw I loved Tenet. I thought it was amazing.
@@snowbear163 ikr
Definitely I'm surprised they haven't done man on fire. That's a beast of a movie.
Hell yea hate when they compare movies I like both movies
So to give some context about this movie not doing well financially. After looking it up this movie made 192 million at the box office on a 55 million budget. The first John Wick made 86 million on a 22-30 million dollar budget, so looking at these numbers, they both did extremely well at the box office. Now the Wick series has more movies at the moment, equalizer will have the 3rd one coming out this year. So in my opinion both movies have done very well for themselves. Wick gets a little more talk because of the insane actions sequences where Equalizer has suspense and intrigue to back it up.
you are correct the main thing is making back your budget both did
The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington is boss. Easily one of my favorite action films of all time. The end fight in the Warehouse is amazing. Lol
I think John Wick landed so well is because Keanu trained so hard to do his stunts, fight scenes, and gun handling. Denzel is the GOAT for sure, but he can't physically do what Keanu does. And the fact that they use long, uncut takes in John Wick really shows off the action.
I agree, even though denzel done all his stunts he opted for realistic street style combat that ends very quickly
equalizer is based on a tv series from 1985, which they do a fan fare tie into a previous movie Denzel did in 2004 called Man on Fire. production also started before John Wick. because of Equalizer they were forced to use an insane advertisement budget on John Wick to over shadow it. once you learn about his wife in the second movie, the people he hangs around and why he's a "fixer" makes sense.
And Man On Fire is a remake from a movie in the 1980s starring Scott Glenn. Scott was in Training Day as Roger and Courage Under Fire as that reporter with Denzel.
Y'all beat me to it.
Wait till third movie where shit gets real and he unchains himself and does 1 man battle against Italian mafia
Hmm
I like the equalizer more than John Wick. Denzel just seems to be a more interesting person than the John Wick character. And the equalizer is based in the real world versus the cartoon environment of John Wick.
“Just launch a rocket at his b**** ass.” Man I almost died laughing 😂. I love these videos! Keep up the Seal Team breakdowns, it’s so cool watching actual operators analyze the tactics shown in one of my favorite shows 🔥.
Kevin Nash, Lance Reddick, Ian mcShane and many more. John Wick 1 had many high level stars doing small roles with only 1 or 2 scenes.
Honey has been used to treat wounds for thousands of years. However boiling it is probably a bad idea as it kills a lot of the good stuff.
So if you watch the making of the movie, they have the fight coordinator say how his whole aim was to not waste movement or energy. He said Denzel isn't some young guy that's going to be jumping and throwing and falling. The aim of his scenes were minimalist in complexity with maximum effectiveness. I was just like, makes sense.
The amount of one liners this show has is epic…Home Depot challenge…
Fun fact, John Wick was directed by Keanu Reeves former matrix stunt double Chad Stahelski as a passion project to explore gun fu in movies and co-directed by David Leitch who was Brad Pitt's former stunt double. Leitch went on to make Nobody and Bullet Train through their joint production company. 1:39
nice! all pretty damn good movies
Chad was also stunt double of brendon lee in the crow. All scenes where you didn’t see Brendon face was all Chad including the scene where he puts make up on. He shot all scenes after Brendon death
Keanu reeves is such a good actor
Also I second Man on Fire. His journey is worthy.
I saw it in the theater twice, it was that good.
One of my all time favorite movies
Imagine Denzel and Keanu in a movie adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing...it exists...
And it rocks
I love em both, they're different in my eyes. Wouldn't compare them. Also, the Equalizer was a TV show back in the 80's remember watching it as a kid :) Think the actor that starred in it was Edward Woodward.
Yes ..honey, especially, manuka honey is used on wounds.
Equalizer is another Antoine Fuqua film. Den of Thieves, Training Day, Brooklyn's Finest, Olympus Has Fallen, and Terminal List. I hope you do Brooklyn's Finest at some point and tell us if the way cops are in the film is accurate. It's my favorite cop movie.
In my country’s traditional medicine there are a lot of methods like that. For an example when my country was fighting the brits they were carrying a food we call kavum. Brits thought it was because we love to eat that but apperently the fungi grown on the kavum helped to fight the infection on wounds. Probably no one cares but thought some people may like to know
The element of surprise.
The bag guys never expected the immediate level of violence that was brought.
Fun fact-there was n Australian (I think?) company about 15 years ago that introduced medical wound dressings impegnated in honey to promote healing. No idea if they're still available today.
The Equalizer was based on atv show from the 80's my dad used to watch. In that show I think the guy was British intelligence or SAS.
Also, yes honey is a natural antibiotic but boiling it will probably just give you a real nice burn to deal with as well.
makes sense
The movie that Abel’s referring to is White House Down, starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Fox. Other being Olympus Has Fallen, which, if I’m not mistaken, they (the guys who made it) decided to not release it around the same month as WHD thus they had to release it at a later date in terms of not competing against it. With all that aside, I’m in love with the Filipino martial arts being demonstrated by Denzel, thanks to Dan Inosanto who also trained him for the other film, Book of Eli, another epic film I do recommend.
Although I would love to have you guys watch Olympus Has Fallen, you guys might find a familiar face, as Johnny Tran’s in there by the way. 😊
19:17 as a chef, I would think it’s a consumée, which is a very high end clarified broth. The clearer we can get it, the more we charge 😂 there are a couple of Michelin restaurants that do a perfectly clear tomato soup. Plus, by creating a “raft” as we call it, you add a lot of flavor.
Now, is any housewife, no matter how rich, making a consommée for dinner? No. Lol
Love you guys man, thank you for your service
Finally! I have been waiting for this. You guys are the best. Great content, and unlike a lot of youtubers, you actually interract, and ask what the fans want.
Not sure how this flew under your radar. It's a great movie. The second one is good as well. Waiting for the third and final one to be released this year.
16:36 👨⚕️here we use medical grade honey all the time in wound care clinics helps with inflammation and wound healing .
The equalizer was a dark tv show from the 80's, the intro alone was scary.
Also in the "ex-military going hardcore" style, you should watch the movie LARRY BROWN.
Honey is so antibacterial, that in the UK, we don’t even have a best by date on it. Amazing stuff.
Abel is back! Hands down this is a good action flick! Thanks for the fun episode Gentlemen! 🇺🇲🤘🏼
i really enjoy their conversations
I love this series man. You guys are hilarious. It's like watching the movie with your boys.
This was a funny episode.....you both cracked me up.
You guys never fail to crack me up
Equalizer did great. They're working on the 3rd film. Also it was based on an idea from a 1985 TV show.
The only reason to look forward to Sundays these days ❤
let's go!
"Imagine if that's your dad." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would've liked to see a breakdown on the scene where Teddy comes to Robert's apartment. As Robert reveals to Teddy he doesn't believe he's a cop, Teddy comes back up the stairs and as he does this, Robert closes the distance and takes a tactically advantageous position. It's a pretty cool scene.
"The Contractor"...good one, lol.
Love the fact you are in shorts, find you hilarious....Thank you for your service
"Den Baba Yaga", nearly spit my coffee Lol
Cool new led lighting in the background..
From working in the industry you are SPOT ON when it comes to why similar movies get made around the same time. to piggy back that, its why you see a lot of people play in military or period pieces around the same time as well. With these films they get sent to mini boot camps to learn how to look walk and talk like soldiers or knights, etc so once they get the training, they are primed for any other film being made around the same time. Tom Sizemore is a prime example, i believe he was in 3 major war films in a 12 month period. there are others as well
This movie is a documentary about my life....your welcome 😂😂 good stuff fellas!
hahahaha
if my rich friend fed me a bowl of water.......!!
Dan...brazilian.....bilbo baggins....babayega....
that was hilarious dude!
cheers guys, from an actual brazilian!
Man On Fire!!!!
The reporter in that movie was the character from Total Recall who fought Sharon Stone.
Unrelated to this specific video, but I swear I remember a video where Buck talks a little about sere and dogs.
Memory is fuzzy, but I believe he was critiquing how some show/movie tried to escape a k9 search party.
Something along the lines of moving in a flower pattern to confuse/frustrate the handler. Does anybody remember what video that might be?
These React videos are awesome. Sean is a great storyteller. This channel should have a million subscribers.
The Equalizer is a play on a TV show from the 70's. which was very similar to book/movie "man on fire", the original from he 60's, and the second one that Densel Washington did in the mid 2000's.
Love the equalizer flicks. Looking forward to the third. Hey have you guys done an episode about the movie the guardian?
The bad guy didn't choose the hardware store. Denzel turned the tables with his cellphone shell game trick in the bus.
John Wick doesn't cut every other second. Keanu busted his ass to get in shape 4 that role. Denzel didn't.
Real good
Dude that's real life! He's in a city of millions. It's extremely possible that a person could know a bunch of folks with life changing situations. As far as the ring, it could have been that he just wanted to hurt her by taking it. It's a show of power.
Lol i can see the smirk on Tim's face "challenge accepted." Dude is awesomely nuts.
Dan actually pays to be in these movies, just like he did for Lone Survivor. Also, Dan won a vast majority of his money playing poker, and from his Dad.
allegedly
@@FNGACADEMY 😂😂😂 Y'all make me laugh so much. Helps me get through my police academy lol
😂😂😂😂 he got a trust by his dad. That it is. Poker bro. Yeah i make money from playing the lotterY
New tag line "I hate soup" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
9:15 Buck zoned out checked out for a deep thought. I do that I consider it a skill
The Equalizer was a TV show back in the late 80’s early 90’s
The soup rant was too tier😂😂😂😂
Everyone refuses to admit that Keanu is a terrible actor. Stunts, off the charts though. What's most prolific about this film is Robert's balance of his dark and light. He highlights that a warrior submits to his darkness, to do good which balances the scales. But it comes at a cost. When Teddy says "you mark me as a sentimental man Mr. McCall..." He was unassuming to everyone because he is actually a good man doing dark deeds against dark men. 🖖🏾
Keanu is an awesome dude. Not the best actor I've seen. Heart and dedication I would say is what makes him stand out.
@@Silirion Go rewatch Matrix... Same guy in EVERY film
There's another connection with John Wick, actually. The song you hear around the 25:10 mark ('Before I Die Alone') is also on the John Wick 2 soundtrack, at the end, when Keanu runs from all the assassins in Central Park ;)
second note, tomato bisque in a bread bowl is one of my top 3 meals, tons of potassium to get me through a high labor job
What's interesting is that, in the making of the equalizer movie. Denzel's stunt coordinator aka trainer is a navy SEAL
there is a 2nd equalizer and this september the 3rd is coming out! this series is a masterpiece! you need to watch every detail to enjoy and understand the movie! also watch the behind the scenes of the makings of the movie! it's so amazing.
Well hopefully part 2 please 🙏
The Equalizer movies are based off the 1980's tv show of the same name.
You guys should cover "Safe House" with Denzel. Good film, lots of action.
31:21 I spent 22 years in construction and I am certified to use a powder actuated nail gun like the one he just used in that last scene and yes you have to be certified through Hilti to be able to use one of those yes you can reload it like he did but you're not going to shoot it like a it has to be pressed up against surfacer but it uses 22 short blanks to drive a piston that drives the nail
I got lucky and watched this movie alot when it cycled onto the movie channels, loved it and I noticed that being his only gunshot fired as well. From what I saw, he had nothing against guns at all, just looks like he improvised alot. You actually see him try to take the HK off one of Teddy's mooks in the final fight in the store but Teddy shoots him. The series it's based off actually did a sorta of thing where new guns were brought in constantly, including stuff that was borderline bleeding edge at the time like the SPAS-12, Desert Eagle, and more.
6:43 This is an excellent example of the Equalizer being a better assassin than Wick. He is far more creative then Wick IMO.
They are eating consommé. It is a labor intensive broth with tons of flavor. Probably just to appear fancy and French.
You first saw the honey trick from Hollywood in Shooter. Both great movies!!
Best example of what sean was talking about @ 10:30 is daredevil season 1 hallway fight scene. Fighting multiple people he had to keep hitting them to keep then down while getting tired and having people rush him at the same time.
Actually, The Equalizer did really well at the box office, followed by 2 sequels.
What is happening is simply film distribution companies competing wit each other, trying to snuff out the competition by scheduling a release to deny the competition the opportunity to maximize their theatrical revenue.
Man on Fire
Equalizer is my jammy jam!
I love them both. I'd argue Equalizer is more grounded in reality than John Wick. Also, Equalizer is more about one man helping helpless people. John Wick is just out for vengeance. Equalizer is an amazing movie!!! Can't wait for part 2!!!
21:21 Dan THE MAN
Volcano and Dante's Peak: 1997. Yeah they come in pairs. It's weird.
yall should do The Raid: Redemption, classic swat/martial arts movie
They used to use boiled sugar too, it makes a barrier to keep oxygen from bacteria. I read a Book called Bush Medicine that talks about it . I think it was written by a missionary Doctor in Africa, and you have to change the sugar pretty often.
I think many of us r in awe of the mental game it takes to get to these units...not necessarily that we believe there r superhero qualities, physically, but damn the fortitude it takes to get thru training and then have combat experience..anyway, just my dummie 2 cents. Fuckin love this channel 🤘🤘🤘
Denzel for the President 2024. And BTW, as a born and raised (older) Finn, we used honey to seal and sterilize wounds when I was growing up. You're welcome!
Hi guys, don't know if it's already been mentioned........
Equalizer was based on a TV series from the 1970's.
John Wick on the other hand was inspired by an incident when Marcus Lutrell (Lone Survivor) chased down the guys who shot and killed his dog DASY in the middle of the night.
Sean talking about the "caldo de pollo".. Definitely invited to the Carne asada 🎉
Denzel Washington isn't a polished or flashy assassin in the Equalizer movies, he's ruthless.
I was rofl after the soup comment. These guys are the first to say it, but I always felt that about soup.😂😂
Yea Honey works as well as tree sap
Finally equalizer been asking for it 👀
Holy crap! You fellas really don’t understand the computer thingy and Google do you? The Equalizer was first by approximately FORTY YEARS. It started as a successful tv series back in the 1980’s starring Edward Woodward.
