- Bringing your work home with you can actually be a very good thing… when both your vocation and your avocation relates to gardening. Such is the case for Dan Benarcik and his wife Peggy Anne Montgomery. Both work in professional horticulture: Dan, at one of the country’s most admired public gardens, while Peggy is a champion of native plants and the important role they play in the landscape. But it’s at home where the real magic happens. Thanks to their keen eyes for design and a strong shared knowledge of plants, there’s always something interesting to see throughout this garden’s many rooms. Their beautiful garden is a laboratory of sorts where the couple is always experimenting with different plants yet with an abundance of native selections to provide wildlife habitats. Dan and Peggy’s greatest joy is sharing their garden with friends and family; now they’re sharing it with us.

What a beautiful love story, truly the Garden of Eden.
I think so too! Thanks.
Love this, such a beautiful journey of two beautiful people 💝
We agree! Thanks very much.
This is so heartwarming . Gardening is love 🥰
Yes it is. Thanks.
yet another great show, garden & gardener. Dan was a featured speaker at the Georgia Perennial Plant Association Seminar in 2023 and he was fanstasic. His love of gardening, enthusiasm for all things plants, his design(s) and creativity, and his inspiration and encouragement made for a magical afternoon. Thanks ever so much to you and Dan & Peggy Anne for sharing it all with us !!!
Thank you. Dan and Peggy Anne are wonderful people and a great asset to public gardens and horticulture
What a great episode. Their story is so inspiring …as is their garden!
Thank you. I’m glad you liked it!
❤Love this. A beautiful love story❤
Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
What a great show!
Thank you.
Beautiful couple and story! I have to visit Chanticleer one day!!
You should! It’s one of my very favorite public gardens. 👍
Joe...another great episode showcasing a beautiful garden and caretakers/creators of that space. My wife and I feel the same about our gardens and it is our place of refuge, work, creativity, and for us, from a biblical worldview, it's how God intended. Adam and Eve were placed in the garden as caretakers and when I hear people say how connected they feel to their garden(s) it is no surprise to me/us and this story shares a great example of that connectedness. Thanks for sharing their story with us.
Thanks 👍. I’m so glad you liked it.
My favorite Philadelphia garden. I keep returning to see what’s new although it still feels like an old friend.
Well said! I feel the same way!! 🙌
Beautiful! The only garden of this kind I have visited is Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC. I've been there twice. BREATHTAKING! I assume Chanticlear is similarly breathtaking.
It is and I’ve been to both. Both are stunning. 👍
