RICKY POWELL FOREVER

RIP Ricky, we miss you already. In the Spring of 2018 we met up with our old friend Ricky Powell in Greenwich Village and went on a walk and talk with him around the neighborhood. It was amazing to see the countless interactions he had with people, all of which made it abundantly clear that this was his home.
Born and raised in the Village, Ricky cut his teeth shooting photos of The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Andy Warhol, Basquiat, and Keith Haring. Keeping a camera on him and being an opportunist, Ricky has shot some of the most iconic photos of some of the most iconic people of our time. We were honored to document some of the moments we shared together. Rest easy.

Waoo so sad to hear that he passed away. Just found out who he was . 2019 I was on a skateboarding trip to NYC from puerto rico & all of the sudden I was skating my way to washing scuare park when randomly some dude stop by & said " yo I know you from the afterlife can I take a picture & I was like wtf ok cool cause the dude got style & was mad cool so he take a picture & said thank you blessed day & walk away . I just found out who he was !!!
