    26 GA (0.4mm) dead soft round wire
    1 x 10mm bead

    I still remember my very first CZcams tutorial I did, I was so nervous and terrified nobody would watch it! Almost 2 years on and I still get a nervous twang just before I hit the record button! LOL I started off teaching Freeform bead weaving ( because no-one else was making tutorials about this medium) Then about a year ago I swithched over to my happiest medium, wire work! I now show people who struggle with uniform wire work (neat , tidy and precise designs) how to have fun with wire by making beautiful and unique freeform chaos wire wrapped pieces! I really enjoyed your style of teaching and I think you did a wonderful job! I wish you all the best with your channel! I have subscibed and liked this video! 😁👋👍

      Well, I had to film it a few times. There were too many "uhms" and "awkward silence moments. Then one part of the footage didn't want to work. It's a journey. Hopefully one day I will be as good as Kelly Jones :)

    I would have never known it was your first tutorial if you had not mentioned! Great job and beautiful pendant. I especially liked that it did not curve around the way you would have wanted, happens all the time with me. But you taught us how to gently fix that. Very helpful!

    I have watched and followed along with many wire weave tutorials. My first impression was that this was not your first rodeo, I am super impressed that this was your first tutorial! I like that you added the bead first so that the two 18 GA wires are then firmly in position for weaving the 26 GA - a novices dream come true for a successful piece, I can understand why you use this tutorial when you teach beginners. Great job, you hit the ground running! I never knew about keeping the wire on the spool, it makes sense, knitters do the same, right. My next weave, I am leaving the wire on my spool; as a result, I'll stop wacking myself in the head or eye with the wire, so cool. Thanks!

      @twoloosewires  Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you so much! I want to make tutorials that I would have liked when I was learning. Keeping the wire on the spool is the way to go - you never know how much you will need, and it stays in place. You really should wear eye protection. I sometimes trim mindlessly and it flies off hitting me in the face.

    Wow great first tutorial! I’ve only been wrapping 6 months but I love it and it’s obsessive! Today I wrapped a cross with a weave pattern. I have been shying away from weaving because I thought they were hard. It wasn’t. This came up in my feed tonight and I like that it looked very complex and different from what I have been wrapping. You explained it very well and nice and slow. I subscribed and look forward to see what you are going to design. I’ve been mostly doing Cabochons that are caged with fancy bails mostly 20 gauge dead soft square wire using three wires. I guess I should look into some bracelet designs if you have any to share that would be cool. Thanks for sharing!

    I have been teaching beginning wire weaving for about a year and a half. This is a great design for beginners. I tell my students that “squishing” is a technical term. I like to use the kumihimo bobbins for my weaving wire…it keeps the wire from getting twisted and possibly kinked. I also advise about “the #1 beginners mistake” and to learn to reduce the tension by placing the weave wire, bending and then wrapping the wire…and just BREATHE, RELAX, and ENJOY weaving!

    • @twoloosewires
      @twoloosewires  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Haha yep - an advanced technique of squishing 😁 I keep reminding that it is wire weaving, not wire tugging or pulling. It seems to work

    Ready good info for aspiring wire wrappers! Especially about not holding base wires too forcefully and not wrapping too tightly. I would have done both and now, with wire supplies all purchased, I can try it with that info in mind. It’s already saved wire from the scrap heap. Question, most tutorials are done with copper wire, is there a reason?

    HI! Question, I'm at the beginning of my jewelry journey and a friend asked me to make something similar to wear as a brooch on a hat band. I'm not sure whether to attach a safety pin to the back or what other option is possible. Thank you!

    • @twoloosewires
      @twoloosewires  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I would work on a design that incorporates the pin, rather than attaching it to a completed piece. Look up brooch tutorials on CZcams, practice a bit, then combine it all in the final design.
