KK and Glenn forever
Hell yeah priest forever
Amen brother or sister Glenn is the man
when they were on fire still with hlenn and kk.i sae the 72 tour twice then many more afterwards .been a fan since 1980 when my buddy gave me a cassette of unleashed in the east
@@GRILLBUOY101 unleashed was grratest. victim changes on that one .forget about it
Yeah Baby!!!!!! 4 ever.
When I was a teenager, the cops would ask us what our names were when they caught us out after curfew. I told them I was Rob Halford, my buddy told them he was Glen Tipton. It worked every time...I actually got to tell Rob that story years later. He laughed his ass off! Thanks Priest for all the memories...
Where are you from? Nazi Germany?
It can’t be overstated how much Scott Travis transformed them from great to absolutely incredible.
Très loin de valoir Dave Holland. Quand à Rob Halford, sa voix commençait déjà à décliner.
:
I love Holland but I get that ....
Sir, I have to agree. Incredible.
@@sheldonbazinga3985 If Rob had stopped smoking and simply spent time with Elizabeth Sabine a couple of hours 6 days a week for a couple of years at that point he could have had ten times the voice and even today could be singing all of the songs in the original keys live. The voice is amazing in its ability to not only recover but regenerate. That being said JP will forever be… Well. They will be the Metal Gods, lol.
Black sabbath invented it
Judas Priest Perfected it
100% ...perfect comment
Sabbath are heavy but Priest are METAL.
@nolatux hahaah DP c'mon man BLackmoree is an ass.
@nolatux Who gives a fuck really
@nolatux They took ingredients from both, Sabbath and Purple.
Halford at the peak. So aggressive and dynamic. What a voice! Hail to the Metal God! 🤘🔥❤️
Rob was at the top during 1988 Tour, And was amazing also in 1979 (*live in Seattle)and 1981 (*live in Chicago).
@@robyg9638 -- *I'll have to check those out!*
uhhhhh,no try back when they had the good drummer, dave holland......fuel for life tour destroys this in every way ..
sadly halford is flat in almost every song here
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I respect your opinion. But, ... FYI...I'm one of the biggest Judas Priest fans and concert collectors: I own all the bootlegs (audio and video !) and I've listened to all their shows, from the 70's to 2010, where they I stopped collecting them. The 1988 tour was unrepeatable. Rob always ... monstrous....amazing... and Glenn...wow...the same. Rob was excellent in other years as well, certainly also in 1986, 1978, 1983 and he has done excellent performances in the last few years as well. But never, like in 1988. Trust me, I know what I'm saying.
Roby has the bootlegs, but I have the secrets~
brought my dad to this show, east Coast megadeth opened. Hes 86 now and we still talk about it. Drove there
in my 89 iroc z.. great times.
Fuckin AWESOME bro👊

Best duel guitar in all of Rock history.
Imho it's Midori and Miyako.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 That's why nobody knows them ?

@@kent-oveprestberg3578 But niether of them can play. Akira Takasaki is the ONLY Japanese guitarist
Allman and Betts
Rob Halford is eternally great. From the beginning till today, he’s still got one of the best heavy metal vocals ever.
We need a blu-ray version of a live show from the "Painkiller" tour.
Glen Tiption was arguably the smoother lead guitarist in that genres history. His solo delivery on ALL GUNS BLAZING is CRAZY!!!!!
His solos on the albums Painkiller and Ram it Down are out of this world
The man, while already at the top of the heap, was woodshedding. How many times on Painkiller do you say " what is he doing there?" !!!
@@HardMetalString yes seems he warped to a different level of shred at that point
electric eye
Painkiller they really show off what they can do
I was there. Operation Rock n Roll. Motohead was loud!
I went to this show with my boss san diego sports arena, we left that place in shock
The greatest metal band of all ages.
Halford looks and sounds so POWERFUL. We love you Rob
Eso no fue un concierto, fue una clásica ceremonia de los Dioses de Heavy Metal.
sin duda alguna R.H. es la voz del metal.
The other thing to remember, this was there 12th album and they were in there early 40s killing it.
Also, glen Tipton was born always looking 40. Even as a baby
Rob sounding this amazing at that age is rare. Some of the greats like Plant and Geoff Tate only got 4 maybe 5 years out of their prime's being able to hit the high notes.
I remembered different things
@@sweetrobertos i mean Rob still sounds awesome lol.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Judas was the top live act on 90-91
Judas Priest will never be matched and when their time comes to an end this is what will do carry us metal heads through the remainder of our days and will always be remembered i know i have already passed it on to my kids and i hope they pass it on to theirs rock n roll on this level will never die
Unbelievable that he left the band after this tour ... (still fight and his solo albums are very good)
A Touch of Evil is a masterpiece. GT's solo is perfection.
Perfection of song , it achieves to gather a mean , evil and mesmerizing rhythm a powerful solo , the vocal technique of halford and the great and heavy drumming of Scott brutal song. I don’t know if this is something that just happens to me but every time I hear the performance of this song in this very concert some drops fall from my eyes , I feel a electricity running through my body , just brutal.
agreed, solo isnt the fastest or hardest from them but man it just hits different you can feel every note in your soul its probably my favorite solo from priest
Halford`s brutal voice!!!!👊🏽
Yeah my throat hurts just singing along in my head
The is the crossing of Rubicon for Priest. The songs from Painkiller are so powerful and difficult to transfer live that they needed to be spaced out. Epic. Scott Travis exposing his influence out of the gate. KK and Glenn peaking together. Amazing.
Totally right couldn't have said it better. All their 80's albums, as good as they were, (and they were great) just built perfectly to peak at Painkiller.
The Godfathers of true Heavy Metal. 🤘
Tipton's solo in Painkiller is soo good. usually I dislike arpeggios in metal but this is the exception right here.
after all these years Rob sounds still amazing, he is and allways will be the Metal God
Love seeing Rob give it all even though his voice was clearly tired from so much touring
He definitely wasn't on his game here..
@@adamfox9245 He started fine, but by the half of it he was pretty tired and barely hitting the main notes
k.k. and glann the real pain killers love them all
Scott Travis is my favorite Judas Priest drummer and this concert explains why. What an absolute beast!
Scott travis???
Dave holland drove you prick!😂
😂😂😂😂😂you idiot!
jeeeezuz krist this band is wicked and rob is absolutely off the planet with the vocals
Saw every Priest show at Irvine Meadows starting in 84 til 2004
Painkiller....Killers!The BEST Heavy Metal!Judas Priest FOREVER!🤟🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶✨🤟
I was there. Age 22. Tripping balls. It was sick! So much energy back then, all of us. They were peaking for shore.
Who trips at a JP concert?
@@MaxWhiteArabiLouisiana People trip at Grateful Dead concerts. People take speed for metal.
What is wrong with you, nerd?
@@johnp.johnson1541 The guy who jumped on stage during You've Got Another Thing Comin'¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do J P Johnson. Yeah.... me. Some guys like to eat tiny pieces of perforated paper at concerts. Do you find that strange? If so, call me strange because I've done just that well over a hundred times. I love a good concert on Lucy. I'm in my 50's and I still do it sometimes depending on the show. I'm hoping Pink Floyd will do another tour. If so, I'll definitely be tripping balls for that one. They've never disappointed me in the past. Try it.....or don't. Rock on man.
@@andrewwhite9739 Over 100 times?! And you're not burnt out? On disability for mental health issues?
Tripping at Floyd makes much more sense. That is an acid rock band, after all.
Keep rocking!
They built a freaking cool looking stage set for this tour.
One of the greatest ever sounding live bands
BEST LINE UP AND PAINKILLER ERA🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🍻
Legendary Halford!
my favorite band of all time with rob halford 🖤🖤🖤... and this concert is spectacular as the great majority of judas priest, with quality sound , including to the charisma and talent of rob 😎🤘🤘👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Unbelievable..... Those riffs and grooves they come up with are incredible.... So tight and smooth! Then add Halfords voice on top of it makes them one of the greatest metal bands of my time. I saw them back then.... Their sound live was always top notch!!
Thank the Metal Gods we have these recorded shows to watch.
Rob is gloriously stalking the stage like a panther released from imprisonment!
imprisoned for being gay
Definitely the best live rendition of Painkiller.
Dude I have the same last name as you,I seen this tour in San Diego, insane
Perhaps the best live Painkiller solo by Glenn recorded. Also, Scott Travis at his most frenetic.
This makes me so happy.
Glenn will forever have the very best heavy metal solos under his belt.
He is so underrated...
lol.........tipton and underrated arent two words that can EVER be used in the same sentence............guy is one of the most loved, respected and revered guitar players of all time.anyone who listens to metal knows tipton/.kk
KK is just as good.
He's not Randy 🙏 or Eddie 🙏 or Yngwie... they were both decent though...
@@cryptoking7093
Yngwie sucks - all of his solos sound the same and none are memorable. He's great at playing fast but that's about it.
During this tour I was deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm. However, I will say this has to be some of the best live footage of the band. The Screaming For Vengeance Tour, Live in Memphis, 1982 is the absolute best. This has to be next. HAIL THE BEST WHICH IS PRIEST!!!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾💥💥💥💥💥💥
They were the best band at “metal day” at the US festival
Rob was at his best. Huge crowd
Clear sound
I saw Judas Priest at the Long Beach Arena back in 1980 , they were so powerful and loud........Rob's voice was so intense he peeled the paint off the walls...My ears rang for a few days after.... .Such a great show....🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁🔥💪👊🤘
I saw them in Albany, NY in 1981 and Glens Falls, NY in 1982 - killer shows!
LOL I never thought about that! Normally my ears ring due to the guitars but not the voice.
@@ec7888 Everything was turned up including Rob's microphone and back then he could hit extremely high notes with his voice screaming....You know when a loud singing voice can zonk out your hearing.... Geddy Lee's (Rush) voice could easily do it back in the 70's and 80's with his high notes...I saw RUSH/UFO at the Santa Monica Civic Center back in 1978 and my ears rang for days after....🎤🔥💪👊
@@ec7888 Only a few bands were capable of deafening sound.... Motorhead was definitely a group....They were supposed to be the loudest band ever or at least one of them....I saw Motorhead with 45. First concert and first tour I've ever attended. What an awesome 16th birthday present!!!! Megadeth and Testament were supporting acts and both shredded!!!

I was there , it was my first Judas Priest concert and now i know I saw them at their best . One concert later Rob Halford quited the band .
Halford is the Metal God!
Ian Hill was fantastic... Best performance ever!
That Rockman tone is the best.
Incredible...the Energy....Rob at the Top!.....It's so good seeing Glenn performing! JUDAS PRIEST!
Ugh that painkiller solo is so tough, i cant imagine playing that live faster than the studio version.
Scott Travis is the real deal during painkiller he is solid through and through definitely takes priest to a different level as well into a new decade
Now that's what you call a show. Great to see the classic band line up. Hail Halford the metal god - bang on form. Shame that Tipton has now had to stand down due to health problems. But Priest at this time were absolutely red hot live🤘
I was there. Slayer opened. We worked security by impersonating two employees who weren't gonna show up (my friend worked with them). We were assigned by the bathrooms upper lawn. When Slayer started, we hit the pit with our vests on, then threw em in the trash.
The management realized we boogied and looked for us so hard between Slayer and Priest when the lights were on but we took off our shirts and kept our heads low. Hahahahaha.
Was such an awesome gig. I'm a HUGE Slayer fan, but Priest definitely tore the house down that night. No question. I love free shows!
This live is absolutely F-I-R-E! \m/
Long live the Priest!

Totalmente deacuerdo
I was front row center for this show in East Rutherford NJ, OMG they kicked your ass. 1990 $175 ticket most I've ever spent on a ticket.
I was at that show also, best live band hands down
I was about 15 rows behind ya
When Rob dared to look at the audience. Nowadays he looks at the floor. Saw them 86 and it was magical.
Seen them 16 times since '86, many times in recent years and he always looks at the audience.
The floor is where the screen is that has the song lyrics on it !
Judas Priest shows us how true Metal sounds like. Just awesome band
Judas Priest=god metal 🇧🇷👍

Best singer and dual guitar attack ever.
Travis is such a badass drummer
still today Halford is the God of metal \\ mm //

Like it's as easy to do live on tour as it is in the studio. Halford said that after recording it felt like it was dying for days. Taking these factors into account, you won't find many live versions better than this one.

Travis, KK and Tipton made Painkiller what it is ,The best Priest album of their discography. Never before or after in their long career they had buzz-saw guitars and thunderous drumming like on Painkiller tour.
You never heard STAINED CLASS obviously
