Solar Flames - Textured Art - Metallic Highlights

Trying out some textured art using red bronze and gold as my primary colors. I tried using some plastic to create a texture in the paste but wasn't happy with it. So started creating some crescent circles. Once I was happy with my design I put a Burnt Sienna wash down then started on my colours. Blending them and the using some paper towel to create texture. I then added some more depth with some Van dyke brown and a pop of Quinacridone magenta. Finally adding some gold highlights. I really enjoyed the process and am very happy with the outcome!

Like it quite a bit.
I suppose the scifi nerd I am makes me want to see something of a pomegranate in the light area. A wormhole effect if you will.
