Hillary Clinton: Rule of Law Crucial to U.S. Policy

“We will stay true to our values and respect the rule of law including international law principles guiding the use of force in self defense, respect for the sovereignty of other states, and the laws of armed conflict. When we capture al-Qaida members we detain humanely and consistent with international standards. When we do strike, we seek to protect innocent civilians from harm, terrorists of course do exactly the opposite."
