Volvo V40 seat heater repair

- 2017 Volvo V40 driver seat heater did not worked. Took the seat apart and checked the condition of heaters. This model is impossible to change temp. regulator without seat heaters. After changing seat pad heater with temp. regulator it started to work again.

I've changed my seatheater on the base without removing the seat out of the car, very simple process. Don't even need to remove the sidecover at all.
Would have been nice to know how to do it. My thing was, I did actually know how this seat was built together and how to dissassamble.

I just pushed down the base on both sides to release the 2x lists and the same in front, lifted up the seat with the adjuster and pulled back on the base to release the list on the bottom of the base, disconnected the connector to the heating element from the module and the base was off.
I also used steam to loosen the glue of the heating element so that the base was whole with out any missing foam at all, then replaced the heating element and used zipties to put everything together, installation in the car was just to connect the elementconnector to the module and press down on the sides to get the lists in place and the same in front, and then pull the backside to the bottom.
My first job was actually as an teamleader for manufacturing seats for Saab so, yes old memories indeed. :)
But thanks for your video, helped me alot. Just didn't want to remove the seat altogether when the only issue was in the base.
Is it necessary to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery if you remove the seat base only out of the car without removing the whole seat out of the car? (V40 d2 2015).
