heres a pro tip for anyone building on a budget!
when colouring your house, choose a colour pallet. then once you colour something that will be used over and over (eg. walls, windows, carpets ect) copy it instead of colouring at the end. if u do that, it saves quite a bit of money, even if the house is small. it all adds up! luv u annie ❤

I think the reason why it has so many weird colours and materials is because they wanted people to experiment in build mode and try changing it themselves by painting things and adding different furniture. It was a pretty good house compared to most people's houses back when it came out but it definitely needs a redo. I don't understand why they can't just change them. I'm sure there are plenty of builders who would be willing to revamp they homes and they could do a competition or something and the people who win get their builds put in the game. This wouldn't require any new programming because the current starter houses were made by people other than the developers so all they need to do is get people to build new ones and then boom, add them into the game, it's not hard.
