The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) said to his companions, “Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur’an in one night?” This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, “Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) ?” Allah Apostle replied: ” Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.’ (Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1-to the End) is equal to one third of the Qur’an.”

*Surah Az-Zukhruf, Verse 33-35*
وَلَوْلَا أَن يَكُونَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَن يَكْفُرُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفًا مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ
And were it not that all people had been a single nation, We would certainly have assigned to those who disbelieve in the Beneficent Allah (to make) of silver the roofs of their houses and the stairs by which they ascend.
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْ أَبْوَابًا وَسُرُرًا عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِئُونَ
And the doors of their houses and the couches on which they recline,
وَزُخْرُفًا وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
And (other) embellishments of gold; and all this is naught but provision of this world's life, and the hereafter is with your Lord only for those who guard (against evil).

Engr. Muhammad Ali Mirza is a renowned religious scholar. I have been
listening to his popular lectures for a long time. He has his own specific
way of expressing his ideas, speaking with the general audience and
arbitrating with his disputants and opponents. He has put great efforts in
promoting the unification among the different sects of Islam and in strong
condemnation of sectarianism. His ability to speak to a common man and
engage in constructive dialogue with his opponents is truly remarkable.
His weekly lectures on various topics listened through the vast domain of
social media have been an inspiration to many and have helped to promote
a more inclusive and tolerant understanding of Islam and have attracted
both his supporters and admirers as well as bitter rancors. I have a mixed
opinion of himself. Of his ideas there is room for their criticism or
affirmation. But apart from these aspects there is no doubt he has a great
potential of affecting the minds of the listeners and bending them towards
his logical reasoning. He has spent more than 15 years in his specific way
of preaching which is somewhat different from many classical scholars of
Islam. No doubt he is right to some extent if he claims about his
accomplishments about the conversion of the thoughts and beliefs of some
specific groups of people; but, in my opinion he is an educationist and a
character-builder by birth. Maybe he is not aware of his real potentials, but
in my opinion, he is a true genius and, as such, he must devote his hidden
capabilities towards a still higher purpose: that is, educating and character
building of the current young generation of Pakistan. But how? Keeping in
view his talent and inner strengths I have a proposal for him and positively
hope he will give some time upon its consideration.
• As he has spent nearly two decades in his mind making efforts, I
would like to suggest that using his unique talent, communicating
abilities. devotional spirit and determination should now consider
realizing his ideas in a practical way by creating an INSTITUTION
that is dedicated to educating and training SELECTED young and
talented students from various schools across Pakistan. This
institution could be a boarding type institute where students would
be brought together and trained within the framework of his specific
ideas and ideals and could probably be raised through public
charities.
• The goal of this institution would be to produce the best engineers,
doctors, scientists, lawyers, educationists and other professionals
who are real practicing Muslims and committed to the ideals of unity
and tolerance within Islam and become ambassadors of love and
harmony among Muslims and Non-Muslims of Pakistan and the rest
of the world. These students may be selected based on their
character, academic performance, leadership potential, and
commitment to their moderate religious ideas from across the
schools and colleges of Pakistan.
• In order to achieve this goal, the institution would need to provide a
comprehensive curriculum that includes not only traditional
academic subjects, but also courses on Islamic studies, ethics, and
leadership. The students would also be provided with opportunities
for practical training and internships in various fields, such as
medicine, engineering, natural sciences, commerce & finance,
sociology, education, history and law etc. etc., inside the higher
learning institutes of Pakistan and other foreign countries.
• The institution could also host workshops, conferences and lectures
on different topics related to the unification of Islam and the role of
youth in promoting this goal. This would provide an opportunity for
the students to interact with experts and leaders in the field, and to
gain a more in-depth understanding of the issues.
• In addition to providing training and education, the institution could
also serve as a center for research and advocacy on issues related to
the unification of Islam and promoting harmony among various
prime religions of the world. This could include research on the
history of various religions, different sects of Islam, the causes of
sectarianism, and strategies for promoting unity and tolerance. The
institution could also serve as a platform for dialogue and
engagement between different religions, sects of Islam, and Islamic
and non-Islamic communities scattered throughout the big
continents of the world.
In conclusion, I believe that the creation of this kind of institution, by Engr.
Muhammad Ali Mirza, dedicated to educating and training young, talented
and selected students on his specific unifying ideas and teachings would be
a valuable contribution to the efforts of promoting unity and tolerance
within our country as well as among Islamic and non-Islamic communities
abroad and would provide a platform for the emergence and nurturing of
the next generation of Muslim leaders and professionals.
