Nice video/tutorial. Always good to see more Finnish work on the internet.
A few of ideas that may help you?:
    1. To make the two oval slots for the twisted strap to loop through, look into using a small CREW PUNCH. a size 36 may be the ideal one... Very fast to use - literally one punch per slot and you get identical results each time.
    2. You drilled the holes for the thread to pass through. NEVER use tools that make leather dust unless you are wearing a face mask as the dust is highly carcinogenic - a lot of similar risks to asbestos. It may be better to use a small sewing awl instead of the drill...
    3. Maybe do the dying and polishing after sewing is complete? This way you keeps hands cleaner, etc.
    Hope this helps!

Beautiful Puukko! I like Silent Movie style videos. I'm on my 6th Puukko - teaching myself via CZcams, etc. I have a question or so.
That's a simple 'Dremel-like' tool and bit you're using to cut the holes? I like it: Trying to use an awl to punch through two layers of wet leather may be traditional, but it's a very difficult process. However since the awl doesn't cut any of the leather fibers, as the leather dries it tightens around the lace, so you don't see holes. Are you getting permanent openings after lacing?
