Meron siyang picture kasama ang kanyang M1 Garand at kasali din sa Battle of Yultong at Battle of Hill Eerie. Totoo po na sila ang most northern troop na nakadeploy sa frontline may mga souvenir ang Lolo ko sa ancestral house nila sa kwarto na watawat ng Pilipinas na may signature ng kanyang mga kasamahan na Amerikano, Filipino at Koreano.

I feel envious of you for knowing your war vet lolo 😔 My mother told me my great granpa was also a war veteran who fought during WWII but we never met him. I could only imagine the stories he could have shared with us.
My great grandpa also fought during the Japanese Occupation but not as a part of the Phil Military. He was a guerilla fighter. He was a farmer but he volunteered to fight alongside the Phil Military and Hukbalahap(in spite of their communist roots) to drive out the Japanese. His younger friend, also a guerilla fighter, who he called "Bata" was captured during that time. His younger friend is Juan Ponce Enrile, former senator and current legal advisor to incoming president, BBM.
During that time, did you know that Philippines was second most strongest military country next to Japan? Yes it is.

My grandfather is one among the troops being sent to South Korea. He's among the 10th Battalion Combat Team (BCT, who was first sent to Korea on Sept. 1950, months after the war broke out. As of present, he is still alive, and he is turning 90 years old on February . Thank you GMA Public Affairs for this feature. This will serve as an honour to all the living members Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea, and to those who have gone ahead during and after the Korean War! Kudos!
Today many South Korean new generation see that our Filipino SOLDIER help them... Its up to them to respect our OFW working in their country.... TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

I'm only 16 that time when I want to find some history of our Filipino soldiers. Now, I always talk about this to my friends.
I want to spread this for this is a great story to tell.
Just look at now the country that they once risk their lives for. Imagine noong unang pumunta sila sa sokor di pa yun ganyan ka usbong and after how many decades look at where they are now. Isa sa mga successful countries around the world. I'm proud of our filipino veterans for helping the south korean soldiers and its people💕

Filipinos are really good in combat, plus our sizes didn't much hinder us in any terrain, the only problem of our soldiers is capacity to handle the modern day advance weapons such us Stealth Aircraft, Submarine, Laser warning receiver, and so on.
