In this video, we talk about how to properly use cable grips. Cable grips are used to temporarily pull tension on a cable or rope when you need more pulling force than can be done by hand. They can be temporarily clamped onto a cable at any point allowing the cable to be tensioned and fastened to another product for a permanent connection.

The 1/2 ton and 1 ton look Line they are round jaw on top, not parallel jaw. The door is no big deal, but as far as cable/rope is concerned, That’s a huge difference.... round is for steel wire rope, and rope because it will distort what it is holding. Parallel is not for any type of rope, cable only. Parallel jaws are Either steel, bare wire, or jacketed wire.

Agree haven’t bought one like this yet don’t wanna break my aluminum or copper but I do need to pull some 3/8 or 5/16 guy steel occasionally and my current one slips. Current one is great for 8-4awg copper and some small aluminum.

Hello i have one problem.
I have one wire grip 1ton (2.5-16mm). And i try on my farm tension one wire rope 6mm and this slip on wire grip. How work? What wrong? Wire rope cant stay on wire grip.
i think my brother one time mentioned he grabbed sand or dirt from the ground and put that between the grips? just a thought, 3 months late but lol
Can this little grip 1:56 hold a polyester rope at high tension? Rope like 4 or 6 milimeter
