I feel like I need to sit these dudes down in a classroom for a 3-day seminar on the history of hip hop and rap...
YES!!! They have no idea about true hip hop!!! They said Lil Baby 🫣, r u serious???
Scarface and the ghetto Boyz are from Texas
Latifah is from Jersey
Redman is not officially wutang only a affiliate....
And method man is the lawyer in power
I can’t understand they not heard from these rappers or groups lmao when they said i thought method man was just an actor 😂 this is how this new generation is they think all these lill mfuckers are rappers but to me that is just new school crap instead of rap
Not just them but this whole generation

Crazy watching reactions like this. I'm a 43 year old who grew up with Wu Tang. When you said you never heard them my head damn near exploded. God damn time flies.
For real.
They lying
@@Barren-MIND its easy to think that when you already have and im skeptical too but we dont know their age and I probs starting listening around 15-16, whereas these probs started listening to xxxtenacion or lil b or some shit idk
Same my jaw was on the floor lmao then my guy said wait the lawyer off power is Method Man!???????? Lol
@@nahman34 these dude's are like freshman in college. Cream is an iconic song, its been played on the radio, movies, bars, clubs, youtube videos etc etc. But look at the title of the video, like fr? Naw not buying it, but i get it. They need more "content" and suggestions from you all so that way the ones in disbelief of this reaction can peep when they react to a diff wu track. It's marketing 101, atleast in this space of youtube.
Wu tang were probably the deepest rap group ever, everywhere they went, at least 30 people rolling deep. Real street dudes and the greatest rap group of all time. Every member is a monster in their own right, with masterpiece albums of their own.
Yup and much smarter than the rappers today. No social media but still didn’t rap about specifics on crimes they committed or provide evidence for a current case when songs came out.
PURPLE TAPE!!!
FACTS
36 chambers is easily the best album of all time. Start to finish, every song is a banger
you meant Wu Tang Forever right?
@@sicjuggalo9981 nope but that one is great too!
36 chambers, outkast southernplayisticcaddillacfunkymusic, the first chronic, scarface the word is yours, and just so many more ... in my opinion it was the fact that they had to make an album ... sit there and think it out ... release it, tour off of it .. the difference being that today it's all about singles... features ... social media clips and interviews... a lot of Instagram letting your audience see your life outside of the studio trying to prove "your real" ... then there is the industry turning straight satanic in our face factor and weather or not your willing to take on dark ritual to hold down fame ... Jay z from pre blueprint and after are different men ... all artist from the 90s that are still making music today had to make a deal with those who can not be names (#yewasright) ... anyway, the opinion of a 47 year old white boy from Michigan... react to Dayton family ... shoestring ... Jake the flake ... cbo ... spice one ... brother lynch hung ... esham ... natas ... if you get the time
@@sicjuggalo9981nah no way 36 chambers is levels above I’d say liquid sword and cuban linx are better than Wu tang forever

It's like being a fan of today's boxing and not knowing the greatest from the 90's (Holyfield, Bernard Hopkins, Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Felix Trinidad, Pernell Whitaker etc just to name a few) like how could you possibly not know these people!!?
This is incomprehensible to me. Wu Tang were so revolutionary and had such an impact on hip hop, the fact you know nothing about them is crazy to me. No hate, just makes me feel old. Damn.
I couldn't have said this better 👏
Same here....listening to them I feel like I'm in the Twilight zone!
I agree but at the same time I always reflect on firsts I remember, especially ones that took place way later in my life. I remember only discovering J Dilla in like 2010 and being mad at myself for having slept for so long. Always a first time for everything!
Facts! Like how y'all don't know the Wu!?
I don't think these boys are from anywhere close to New York. Im around their age and listened to 90's rap my whole life. It might just be a location thing.
I was born in 82, so I appreciate young cats like you diving into what real hip-hop was.
Seen WU and NAS playing in Glasgow last month, f*cking killed it
bruh did he say lil baby would eat the wu tang, lmfao i fucking love how oblivious the younger generation is.
Lmaooo I had to rewind to make sure I heard right
I cringed so damn hard it hurt when he said that
Man when they said that dumb ish, I had to stop watching the video. This dude said Lil Baby. We wouldn't know because we can never understand what the hell the mumble rappers are saying. The lamest rapper in the 90s would eat Lil Baby. These kids don't know that the "Wu Tang Clan aint nuthin to f wit".
Nearly unsubscribed when i heard that
Damn, damn,damn , James.
Rza, Gza, ODB, Inspektah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, UGod, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Masta Killah. 9 members. Redman teamed up with Method Man and they are their own group but those are the OG members.

Loving watching you guys growing with each new exposure.
To think anybody hasn’t at least heard one Wu-Tang song blows my mind. This was one of the first hip hop groups I came across growing up.
Damn someone need to educate these kids on hip hop history

we need hip-hop museums to teach the youth what is really about

Back then it was all about word play; they prided themselves on how good they could make rhymes and make them flow to the beat
I noticed some people are into hip hop for the wrong reasons. It could be because everyone's into it
Or u just into for the drip swag what ever they say or bragging rights. If u really love this hip hop culture u should be the Indiana jones and just look up not just wu but even before wu IMO. smh
I CANNOT BELIEVE none of yall have ever heard a Wu-Tang song before! I feel so blessed to have been a teenager during the 90's! 🙌🏽

42 im upset they dont know the purple tape either!!
It's crazy to think that young fans of a genre never dig through the crates to see what the originators of the culture were doing. I am 47 and as soon as I discovered Hip-Hop for the first time in the early 80's, I wanted to know EVERYTHING about it...and we didn't have the Internet and CZcams.
Its always baffled me, it's never been easier to do the knowledge.

To be fair. And I’m 34…to be fair, in the 80s there wasn’t as much to discover as there is almost 40 years later. That’s 40 to 50 years of music to catch up on for these guys.
Having said all that…they should’ve heard some Wu.

The fact that I knew my daddy's Doo wop music from when I was young (I'm 55 now) makes me realize the new youth now have no guidance as to where good music comes from
I’m 43 and proud I grew up in that era. 80’s and 90’s were something special. Golden years.
Wutang is the greatest rap group ever and all the solo albums there is like over 50 albums. That’s method man in the chorus . Also his first album Tical is a banger
There might be double what you say. There is so many affiliates with the Wu it's impossible for these youngsters to catch up on. Hip hop history is to much for them. Just look at today's mubble rap and when we we're teens 90$ style. Wu Tang por-vida
Personally . . I would say ONYX is the best, but WU tang is close.
And tidal 2000 was sick too. Boot Camp clik were an unbelievably great super group

Fun fact: Nas got his famous name 'Nas Escobar' from the Wu-Tang Clan, being that he was the only rapper outside of Wu-Tang to feature on Raekwon's album, a member of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Wu-Tang Clan, Nas and Mobb Deep all blew up around the same time, and all featured on each others early albums. They were like the hard alternative to Notorious BIG and went on to blow New York hip hop up big time after the West Coast dominated the scene for a few years.
Redman is a member of Def Squad, but is close to Method Man and his label mate, so they worked a lot together and by default Redman became an honorary member of Wu-Tang Clan, featuring a lot on their most recent album a few years ago.
Spot On!!
Hard alternative to BIG lol. It gets no harder except maybe Freddy Foxx
Ya'll made me feel old ass hell with this one! If it wasn't for Wu Tang and many other groups/peeps of the time there wouldn't be rap/hip hop today....gotta appreciate and respect tha legends
Yup really do feel old as hell. I'm 40 and from Long Island. There was no one who didn't know who Wu-Tang Was
The best thing when the Wu show on hulu came out was listening to the young dudes that I work around be so excited. Most of them listen to 90s hip hop but they don't really know the stories
I'm a Metal Head mainly and I love Wu TANG clan just saw them and Nas like 2 months ago, some of the greatest ever.

I love this channel, young dudes who appreciate old school shit. But homie in the middle is my guy. He is straight boppin, he gets it!
The Wu has a style like no current rapper you can name. The newer artists understand who and what the Wu are. Trust me nobody would dare try them musically.
Nobody tried them physically either haha

Wu Tang is a fashion brand for the youth of today. Rocking them t-shirts, not knowing it's even a musical group
It's crazy to see young dudes listening to this now it amazing how little y'all know about the history of hip hop welcome to the conversation
I was in middle school when their first album came out and I have loved them ever since.
I’m happy y’all discovering the Wu. Being from Staten Island, we rep Wu Tang heavy. First rap group I’ve ever discovered when I was 10 years old. Wu Tang forever 👐 check out “Protect Ya Neck”. It was their first single and 8 out of the 9 original members spit a verse, and you can tell they had a very tight budget when they made it. That’s what I loved about it, it was so raw and rugged.
The RZA is a musical genius!

Yah you did there first hot single and a single from method man solo. Your missing some classic joints.
Goddam,I was listening to these guys 25 years ago, good to see you hearing this as for modern "rap,"hip hop" ain't got the same depth of lyrics, not the same reality behind them not the same ability to flow poetry with sick beats....just my opinion but obviously there are some exceptions thank god!!!one love
Literally the best hip hop group ever
They all still got this level of talent today
Better.
The South were equally as big in the 90s. You had Master P and his massive label No Limit Records. You had Scarface and the label he was signed to Rap-A-Lot Records, another massive label from the South, and both labels introduced a large number of rappers to the scene, and dominated the scene so much that after a while both the East and West Coast scene started to adopt that South style for a while
Cash Money Records as well
Equally as big? That's a stretch. You had OutKast and all that making noise in '94 for Atlanta but it wasn't until the late 90s; specifically 1997 that New Orleans became the focal point for the South. Then Cash Money from '99 to the early 2000s but prior to that the East Coast nor the West was checking for Southern rappers other than Scarface and the Geto Boys. But even back then Rap-A-Lot rappers was riding off the coat tails of West Coast emceez with the storytelling rhymes about life on the streets.
@@p-jaywade1333 100%! At that time the East and West weren't checking for them. But they had their own scene in the south that pretty much became its own economical autonomy, so much so that by the time the likes of Master P did start to get featured on East and West artists albums, he was already a multimillionaire from how his label was a force of its own in the South. This was mid to late 90s. I remember seeing the southern labels pushing their artists with their unique ads in the Source magazine and XXL, but personally I couldn't stomach most of it myself.
@@ScottyBanton I definitely wasn't a No Limit soldier fan but I have to give it to Master P for basically being a self made guy. I remember him saying how he did it. He had to pay Michael Jackson's lawyer five figures to counsel him and he went to the library to read a bunch of books on how to be an entrepreneur.
@@p-jaywade1333 neither was I bro, I found the music hard to listen to, but as a mogul, role model, with his many businesses and endeavours, Master P was as real as they come, and just as legendary as the likes of Dre, Russell, etc. and correct me if I'm wrong, in the 90s he was the only TRUE 100% black-label owner to own it outright without a next label or 'overlord' to answer to. Big up bro 👊🏻
I weep for the future !
Listening to y'all talk makes feel old as hell😅😅😅😅😅🤣 but I'm glad y'all can appreciate this legendary ish!!
It’s crazy younger generations know people as rappers as other things they are also successful in life as, truly mind blowing
Yasss! Triumph is one. Check the recent Method Man and Black Thought cypher. Inspectah is my favorite but Meth and GZA are close for me.

I'm in SA, 40yrs old...and grew up on Wu. This right here is something we all need to take accountability for (if we really wanna keep it honest at our age). Coz this is the direct result of what happens when we neglect our seeds man.
Now...think of all the other harder decisions these young men are still going to have make in life, in general - other than just taste in music. The lyrics they nodding to are still as relevant to them today as they were to me 25yrs ago. But they didn't seem to catch even one.
nah we really dont, need to take accountability for it. people are just being dumbed down. i can remember being a child and knowing songs that were around way before i was even thought of. but some how we are in the age of information and they never heard wu tang??? nah thats like not knowing pac and big.
I’m in your exact boat. 40 living in SA still bumping’90s rap
This is wild. Respect to you guys for checking them, but one thing you gotta know is; todays music is single driven where as the 90s was more album driven. Wu got 9 members and plenty of albums between them. Their impact and style can’t really be judged by one single. (But if it was, let Triumph breathe). All That I Got is U, Ice Cream, 4th Chamber…you haven’t even begun to scratch the surface (BTW…check out Scratch Underneath the Surface also by Wu (GZA). There’s just so much. Keep digging yo. 👊🏽

ODB is the most unique rapper ever, give him a listen if you want to get into that grimy Wu-Tang sound. His album Return to the 36 chambers is unique
90's hip hop was about creating a cool vibe (sometimes a much darker vibe than most stuff nowadays), not trying to fit as many syllables into each bar as possible. It was about the flow and a memorable groove, not just a beat. They would also have change ups in the song's kind of like a bridge in normal music. There were small progressions in the songs that made them stand out, and memorable to the ear. The beats also sounded a lot more natural like someone was playing a drum kit, whereas now everything is so robotic sounding. Don't get me wrong, lyrically rappers have gotten more complex than ever before, but there is more to hip hop than words and cadences. I wish rappers would focus more on making good songs, not just lyrics and complexity. The flows were a lot smoother in the 90's gangster rap era with a more laid-back style, whereas nowadays rappers are almost yelling the lyrics aggressively to get all of their lyrics out. It's that Nas style on steroids. That works too, but it's different. Back in the 90's it was just about making a good song you could vibe with, period. I miss the different flavors of unique vocal styles, the overall vibe of 90's rap. New school stuff tends to be too hyper, overproduced, and overdone. Everyone copies each other now. It's cool, but I wish some rappers would try to mix in a more old-school style with memorable beats that don't sound like clicky as hell.
I can’t say I always believe that these dudes have never heard a lot of the music they claim to have not to, but I like this crew way too much to even care.
I have been around for all of Hip-Hop and Rap and Wu-Tang changed the game forever, the great Rap Group, Rappers, beats, and solo-albums ever. Pencil will always be my favorite song.

Love Wu, have since they first come out. Crazy how times has changed since then, back then it was gangstas wanting to be rappers, today rappers wanting to be gangstas. Wu were legit and one of the greatestest rap group of all time, always loved how they used OG Kung-Fu movie sound effects etc on their songs as well as their name which was based off of an old Kung Fu movie. Back in the 80s we had a tv show called "Kung-Fu Theater that influenced their music. They also have a tv series on based on how they got started, Wu-Tang: An American Saga 2 seasons out atm.

How is this possible you haven't heard them lol!? The Wu is the best rap group of all time!
Every time we try to choose a favourite Wu member, I choose a different member. You can’t have one, I swear. I highly recommend album by album in release order. They are available on all streaming services. Also there are a few documentaries and TV shows with Wu members. Gza is an actual Professor I believe. He has a science based show out there. Of Mics and Men and Wu Tang an American Saga are also really good to explain who and what Wu Tang Clan are. They changed the industry in almost every way. The way they marketed, the labels they signed with, it was all planned. It is remarkable
