    @Hanna Instruments, Inc. Why is the probe held over water at 100% saturation calibration? If you measure the oxygen of the air why does it need to be water close by? And if so, should the water close to the sensor be tap water or deionized water?

      Hi Paul, The probe is held over water at 100% Saturation Calibration because it is a calibration to 100% Water Saturated Air. For this calibration, hold the probe as close to the water’s surface as possible without submerging, and allow the reading to stabilize prior to accepting the calibration. The air close to the water should become saturated with moisture at that time, and that is what is needed for the calibration. Tap water will work fine for the calibration as long as the probe does not touch the water.

    Hello. Can you say, is it ok to put a sensor in a water totally (with cable). In other words, is the connection between cable and sensor (or electrode) waterproof?

    • @HannaInc
      @HannaInc  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Alex. Yes, it's safe to submerge the probe and cable into water.

      @@HannaInc thanks a lot for quick answer! Is it safe for both HI 9147 and HI 9142?
      Let me also ask, what is the difference between HI 9147 and HI 9142 in brief? I want to buy dissolved oxygen sensor to measure in natural waters, rivers with high organic content, muddy puddles, so conditions are much worse than in the lab. I want to realize which sensor is better for my purposes.

      @@alexsabrekov4257 Hi Alex, both should be fine to submerge. I would recommend reaching out to sales@hannainst.com to find the best meter for you. The meters you mentioned use different measuring systems and have different probe types. We offer a wide range of DO meters so contacting our sales team will help you find the one that fits your needs.
