Remove shoes when entering house
Fresh sheets weekly along with a quick shower rinse before bed to remove pollen and other allergens
Clean fridge weekly while taking inventory for grocery list
Maximize sunlight to avoid mold and mildew growth
If not washing dishes rinse to remove pest attracting food
Place food waste in sealed container as not to attract pests and reduce odors
Hang damp towels and clothes so they can thoroughly dry as to prevent mold and mildew
Love these !
Wonderful. We have a food waste container we keep under the sink and then take it out to the black bin. Feels good to help the environment.
Nice!
Maximizing sunlight doesn't necessarily prevent mold and mildew growth.
@@CleanHomes1yes. Ventilation is key.
Opening all the windows and allowing fresh, clean air in is my go-to healthy home habit! I moved from NYC to the French countryside, right across from a forest, so the air from the tree is just lovely. Not health related - but I also love having a little space where I keep creative, hygge - like activities! Just a little creative corner where I keep my letter writing kit, all my feather quills, polaroid cameras, notebooks, and youtube gear! I also love to add fresh flowers to my space every week! It adds vibrancy, freshness and is just an overall lovely simple joy to express appreciation for everyday :)
I love that! So nice to have a little space that is filled with stuff you love. And yes, flowers!! We have a few in vases on the go right now and they smell DIVINE.

She is the only one keeping me productive this quarantine lol
Being intentional with what Im buying was a huge struggle for me. I used to buy what was cheap but now I buy with thought and care and I appreciate my items so much more!
Aw that's wonderful! It feels so nice to have belongings with meaning and purpose :)
Snake plants and aloes are so easy to care for and great air purifiers! I own so many.
Love my snake plant and aloe too! Such great plants 🌱
So many great recs!! Clean sheets are a beautiful, simple pleasure. I wash mine every week.
I seriously LOVE house plants!!! I have 2 geraniums, 3 mini rose bushes, 3 spider plants, and 2 peace lilies. I plan to slowly add more plants. I would like English Ivy next.
Yes, love plants...still working on expanding my collection.
I keep used lemon rinds and use them along with baking soda to scrub the sink
That’s a great idea!
Thank you for creating this video Meghan! It was just the boost I needed at the end of a difficult day! Take care!
Houseplants & lighting elevate a healthy space so much!
I am the same way about lighting! The blueish lights are really hard on my eyes. I appreciate all your down-to-earth thoughts!
I’ve learned so much thank you! 🌿
I have a peppermint plant. It is lovely and smells superb. Her name is Minzi. 🌿
love when you have a new video out! You always motivate me to create a more calm healthy home!
Yay I’m so happy to hear that!
I always love your videos, Meghan!
It’s a good reminder to take a step back.
Love these ideas, alot I have adopted. Our HR team, over our weekly conf. calls we decided that we would adapt one hobby and 1 positive thing to share during this challenging time and my hobby was gardening. Now I live in an apt with not much light so it has been interesting to see them grow. I planted dragon fruit seeds and I have a pepper plant and a couple other so far and I'm loving them. Sorry for being so wordy. Your videos get me going.😁👍💞
Thank you for being positive and uplifting during this difficult time.... I've gotten through Covid with CZcams, updating my Entertaining Yourself While Social Distancing each day and helping with volunteer work where I can.
Thanks for the tips! My plants have been so lovely to have around and give my place a lively homey feel😊hope you had a great anniversary!
They really do give a home such a fresh, lively feel! And thank you! We had a great day :)
I totally agree about natural light in the morning, it has made a huge difference for me. As well as having plants. I love my plants.
Omg I just found your channel and I’m OBSESSED!!! I’m loving your videos !!!!! Great recipes, great tips, I can’t stop watching 🥰
I’ve been making the switch to a more natural & sustainable home so this is great. One way I’ve been organizing & financing it since it can be a large investment at first is every time I’m running low but not out of a product I research DIY and natural ready to buy products to determine what’s going to work best for my lifestyle right now so that way I’m not frantically trying to figure out what is best in the moment and just stick to old habits. I also have been adding something like a stasher bag or some glass containers to my cart every time I grab groceries so I can make the transition slowly. Hope this helps!
I've been following your channel for sometime now so I taught I'll let you know how much I love your channel. Keeping me calm at time💖🌻🍀
All great tips! Especially about beeswax candles - did not know that!
I recommend a snake plant for beginners! They basically thrive on neglect. Devil's ivy/pothos or pilea/Chinese money plant for intermediate plant owners and when you really get the hang of plant parenting try a Fiddle Leaf Fig!
Yessss great tips, thanks for sharing - I have all of those plants and I love them dearly!
Hey Chantelle is a snake plant good for kids my little girl 6 love plants would that be a good beginner plant for her our what would you suggest for someone her age
Hi Meghan Thanks for the great suggestions. We use salt lamps, diffusers and make homemade cleaning products.❤
great sharing Meghan. along with my research and study topic. would love to learn more about healthy home, muchos gracias.!
Great video! I have always had houseplants but I’m unable to now because I have a cat that sees every plant as something to chew on including Poinsettias and yes she’s still alive and well even after eating every leaf off the plant. I also love sunlight streaming into my house. I am so much more productive on sunny days than cloudy days.
Hi Meghan, I have just started watching your videos being a teacher at home for now. You are such a lovely soul, humble and have an attractive personality. Please do a q&a one day. Regards from Mauritius.
This was yet another amazing video. Thank you, Meghan. 😊💕 I would also love to see a video on how to grow herbs at home. I tried it a few times in the past but with no success 🙈
Thank you for the helpful info!^_^
Love 🇨🇦
I love plants! I have lots of them and I care for them with love. I agree with you about good sheets. It makes a difference. Thank you for all of these tips.
This is on of your bestest videos!!! Loved it.
Love this video. Would love to see a video on personal care products and ones that don’t use toxic chemicals.
I love watching her videos because I always learn something about myself. I am not a plant person because I say I do not have a green thumb (my plants always die on me!) but after watching this, I'm inspired to get a plant!! What should be my first plant??? Any suggestions?
Love all of your suggestions and how you have created such a warm, comfy, cozy and healthy space! Thank you for putting in the notes which products you mention. I was wondering if you could also comment on the actual mixture you use in your micro fiber mop...it looks like you have wood floors? Thank you so much for all the great videos!!
love your channel! Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
Great video ! Much appreciated!
Bravo! Wonderful video! Loved it
Hi Meghan, I just found your channel, loved your video and your list of uploaded videos are OMG, I cannot wait to watch them! Thank you for such a valuable content! Your new subscriber 🤗
Love watching your videos. Your advices and videos are always amazing!💖
Agreed that Spider plants are super easy to care for. They also don’t need a lot of light so they don’t have to be in a window. -Lindsay
Beautiful and inspiring. Thank you.
Great tips your house is so calming
Great video and information, thank you!!☀️🌱
Love my houseplants! 😊
Aren't they the best?!?
Each week I will air my quilt blankets and pillows outside in the sun. I hang the blankets and quilts over the veranda railings. They smell so fresh after. Its something my mother used to do. We spent a year in a little villiage in Brazil where the people had German ancestry. They had very German houses and would hang their bedding out like this each week. I thought it made the little houses look even more quaint and homely. I have never seen anyone else do this here is Australia and I dont understand why.
I like warmer light too! Picky with lightbulbs ☺️
I love my aloe Vera! My shoulders got sun burnt this week and it was a life saver!!
Thanks so much for the video!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching xoxo
Loved this so much ❤️
thanks for ideas 😊
Caring for house plants is my addiction, I have 62 🙈
OMG that's amazing. We have 15 at the moment!
Oh.. you might be having a little jungle in your home.. Anyway its really great..
That is so awesome!! I have 10 right now and have goals to buy more. I am buying slowly though. I couldn’t have house plants when my kids were little; they somehow managed to knock over or destroy ever one I brought home so I gave up. My kids are 18 and 15, and I suddenly realized that they were old enough that I should be able to own plants now.
Also using non toxic building materials, as well as non toxic paints, finishings. Offgassing new furniture and appliances correctly, setting up an air purification system that prevents moisture and mold growth, as well as insulating to prevent mold and moisture.
A plant tour is over sue here! You got a rubber tree you haven’t introduced us to hehehehhehe congrats on ur engagement and also thanks for the journaling tips, i am a big journaler since for ever too and i notice we can get comfy in one style of journaling and then kinda leave behind the rest, good refresher! I keep rewarching ur videos, im not gonna lie im not too good at commenting so i kinda do a many comments in one like here... not a nice thing to say from a fellow youtuber...but my timw is very very limited... so i watch my fave vids or listen to audible while doing house chores like cooking or folding clothes.... any ways, im thankful for your videos and the minimal mom videos, such lovely company! 🥰😘😘😘 have a great day!
Thanks very much for the comment Marci! Glad you enjoyed the journaling video, always nice to have a refresher :)
I would like to get some houseplants and I am glad you recommended some.
Great video! I think Pothos are the easiest houseplants to own. You can forget to water them for a while and they still survive haha. I like your tips on the low waste/low plastic kitchen items. I already do many of the things you mentioned but I’m looking to take it a step further!
Great tips.ive just started hoovering our bedroom every week and changing our bedroom sheets every week and it feels so much nicer.i like having less dust in our room especially when my boyfriend has hayfever
You are so pretty! Love every one of your videos - you inspire healthier lifestyles.
Aw thank you SO much!!
Another simple thing you can do to improve air quality in the home is to use the vent hood over the stove every time you cook. If you don't have one, crack a window, do what you can to get fresh air in. (Especially with a gas stove, if you have a vent hood it's such an easy practice to use it and it makes a big difference). Thanks for the tips.
Thank you :)
Looking your videos give me really positive vibes......i really appreciate u ☺☺☺☺☺
Great video!!!!!
I do have house plants!!!! I LOVE my plants!! 😍
Good video, very informative.
I would highly recommend you check out the AeroGarden. I have three in my home and absolutely love them for growing herbs Etc.
I need to get more houseplants!

Lovely video
Your videos are like food for my soul💚
🥰
I have a question about diffusing oils. With the current concern with “popcorn lung” and vaping, and now that they have discovered this condition is caused by breathing in the oils contained in the vape, how does that fare in light of diffusing essential oils? Is it safe to breathe in vaporized oils just like we would if using a vape? What are your thoughts on this? Great video and great ideas. Thank you!

I need this video 💕 It’s so important to keep my house organised and clean since I spend A LOT of time at home now. Growing vegetables, flowers and indoor plants are my dreams 😍 but I haven’t plant anything yet after 2 months of quarantine 🙈
Yeah, absolutely. Keeping things tidy (as much as possible) when spending so much time at home feels good. Also yes! I hope you can plant something soon, I've been having so much fun with it. :D
Meghan Livingstone Thanks for your reply 😍 I seldom received reply from my favourite CZcamsrs~ You’ve made my day 🥰
I try really hard with houseplants but they never do well. I currently have 3 spider plants a friend gave me (babies from hers) 1 has done amazingly and the other two look as if they’re fighting for their lives.
Another great video though, thank you. Great tips xx
My spider plant does better when it's not in direct sunlight :)
I never thought about products and how they can affect me. We use a lot of oils to burn and air freshener. For now on I’m going to pay close attention what’s in them. And how much we use them.
You should make a video about your plants and how to maintain them🥺❤️
Ly!
hello I am a new subscriber my name is Judy I live in North Eastern Pennsylvania . I came over from Ashlynn's channel she introduced you to us. I am in the middle of main decluttering I have a tendency to hold onto the past even if it is papers, books, clothes ,things people gave me . I must try to let go of all this Have a lovely day ( Judy )
What cleaners do you recommend for areas in the home that need more aggressive cleaning (i.e. Bathroom).
baby palms are beautiful plants I love the 2 I have. you should do a video on just houseplants
#2: Or microgreens! :) We've started microgreens and have an outdoor garden, as well. We also intend to grow indoor lettuce, especially over the winter.
We have indoor plants, too, but several have died since we bought them because I'm terrible at keeping them watered and fertilized. But some tough ones are still going strong. Very happy about that! #1 on that list is our aloe plant. I almost think that they are happiest when ignored. We have another couple that have done very well, but I have no idea what they're called. Oh well. (You can probably tell I'm not much of an indoor gardener, but I think I make up for it in that we focus our energy on our vegetable garden.)
Question: From what brand did you buy your bed sheets? It took a long time for my husband to find a decent set because so many of the organic ones we found online (primarily on Amazon) had a lot of bad reviews. You obviously have good ones, so I'd like to know. :)
We have both overhead lights and lamps, and this is important to us because being able to wind down with low lighting in the evening is important to relax before bed, but there are some tasks where you just need to be able to see well. Like hunting down invading mosquitoes (a major problem lately), or reading small print. So we like to be able to use either option, depending on our needs. But we definitely prefer lamplight before bed. The only rooms that don't have lamps are the bathrooms and laundry room.
I love your videos😚😚
You've created a beautiful house!!☺
Thank you SO much!!
I prefer bulbs that mimic natural sunlight (not blue lights) as I am extremely sensitive to the color yellow in general (yellow makes me feel anxious, depressed and ill). I'm slowly switching my lighting to more natural light instead of the sickly warm yellow bulbs. But this kind of thing is extremely individual. And, it took me a long time and experimentation to realize that my lighting was making me feel unwell.
I enjoy your videos
What laundry detergent would you recommend?
I think of bed sheets as a set of pajamas, particularly if you are inclined to sleep in the nude. How often would you wash your pajamas that you wear every night? You are literally wearing your bed every night. Just a thought. I would say once a week is a good goal. 😉
I will try these 12 tips for my healthy house.
So glad to hear!
I live plants! I have beets growing in my window seal. Their se baby cute! 🌱💕
I have to get this mop. Everything else I use is good for the environment, except I have a Swiffer water jet mop
House plants video pls 😊
I try to be a minimalist...but I have a problem with collecting houseplants! Haha! 😁 I'm curious how many plants you have? As a rule I have 2 plants in each room.
Love your home shoes? Where are they from 😅?
I love my houseplants! They are my babies 🌱
cotton. bedsheets. great. :D
Houseplants are the BEST
I heard that microfiber isn't good for the environment and really adds to the plastic soup. Thoughts on that?
Just getting into houseplants recently! Trying to propogate a spider plant but my first try didn't go that well haha. Here's hoping!
We'll be propagating our spider plant soon! From its spider "babies" that grow out of it. :P Are you propagating it from a spiderette offshoot?
@@meghanlivingstone aww so fun! Your plant definitely looked like it had lots of babies coming :)
Yes! I stole a little baby off of my friend's plant and it didn't root in soil, giving a second cutting a go by putting it in water. Not sure what I'm doing but I'm trying!
@A S That's awesome! Thanks for the tip! Just took mine out of the water but I'll put it back in for a few more weeks :)
Healthy home
I have only cast iron because it uses less electricity to cook your food because the pans hold heat and it is even.
Plants are the best!
Agreeeeeed!
I actually do Intention buy mostly because I dont have the money but also space is another reason i have a small house. I have just seen something and bought it right then and a few days later thought ,why did I buy this? Or made do with something and have regretted it.
How do you know silicone isnt bad for you? I've tried to find info on it but can't find any!?
